It was a cold and blustery evening. The trees in the public park had long since shed their summery vestiges in the wake of winter, and the dead looking branches were covered in a fine, powdery coating of snow. The huge drifts from the previous week had begun to melt, and then refreeze - and the result was icy and treacherous. A lone state employee poured brine over one of the many sidewalks, scraping away at the ice boredly.
Sylvia shivered, climbing out of the little burrow she'd made under a bench nearby to lick at a particularly coated patch. Salt. It was more instinctual than anything - the stupid stuff didn't taste nearly as good as REAL food had- but she'd had a string of bad luck when it came to catching meals so she wasn't above trying ANYTHING. Speaking of hand outs, she wasn't sure what had come over her when she'd decided to overnight at the rec center. She was a proud creature, that was sure - and she had survived on the streets for a long time. It was harsh, but it was this kind of exercise that kept her diligent.
It was, all things told, a rather horrible start to the second month of the new year.

Thule wasn't good at walking on ice and again she had powered up in her van and put on a large coat before patrolling. It hid the fuku and her hair was scruffy enough to hide the tiara. She spent a lot of the time patrolling like this at the moment, meant she kept warm though her power signal was still evident.
She wasn't the most caring of people and normally stray cats wouldn't be anything that she would care about but today she noticed a black and white cat and decided due to the weather she would at least be nice to it.
"Hey you shouldn't wash your feet cat. Grit salt isn't good for cats or dogs. I have some stuff back at the van to clean the salt off you if you want?" She was hoping to just pick up the cat and take it off but she knew animals and she knew they would do what they wanted so she approached the cat carefully and calmly.

What -
Sylvia looked up, surprised at herself for not noticing someone approach. She must have been hungrier than she'd thought. However, before she could yowl plantively for food or any other undignifying nonsense, she noticed the power signature. Senshi, but subtly different...
"I will lick my feet if I want to. And I do hope that by 'stuff' you mean food." Ok, so maybe that wasn't the NICEST way to phrase it, but it got the point across. However, she did stop licking her paws immediately. Maybe that was why she'd been feeling so off lately. She trodded over immediately and circled around her feet, sniffing curiously. "I don't believe we've met. You may call me Sylvia. And you are?" She stared up at her, with all the dignity a talking dirty street cat could muster.
Which turned out to be quite a bit.

Thule couldn't help but smile as the cat started talking.
"Suit yourself but you will get ill! Just saying... and yeah I have some food!" She smiled happily, rather liking the talking cat. Sylvia was it? That was a cool name for a cat, not that she knew much about talking cats she hadn't really spent much time with them.
"I am Thule, Dark Mirror senshi of rust. You on our side or theirs?" She had only met Dahlia and that had only been briefly. She hadn't seen any other cats though she had heard about them. "I'm sorry to say I don't know much about your kind but if you want to follow me I can get you something to eat." She then started to head back to her van. It wasn't huge but it had a nice comfy set up inside and there were chicks, mice, whatever Sylvia wanted really. Kestrel working with birds of prey came in useful sometimes.
