User Image It was early evening and Glyph had avoided the Pantheon like the plague for the day, sticking instead to the depths of the nearby woods, losing himself in the winding, endless pathways. His duties were not forgotten, no, but he... needed space, badly. One day, he surmised, would not put the whole of Creation at risk.

The meadow ahead was cast in violets and purples, the long grass fragrant in the light breeze and it drew him forward. Maybe he'd sleep here tonight? Nothing in the woods bothered him any more - the few predators that had returned had quickly recognized him as its Lord and left him be, likewise with the herbivores that had reclaimed the forest.

The trail he left was narrow as he waded out into the grass, startling grasshoppers and moths from their resting places, and towards the middle simply turned and fell over backward, letting the crushed grass cushion his fall. Above, the sky was stained oranges, pinks, and indigos with the approach of night, a beautiful wash of colour.

Why he was hiding, he wasn't entirely sure. Nerves, maybe, fear? A reluctance to face the realization that he was, in fact, attracted to Xun? He shook his head, no - he'd come to terms with that, already. It was... if he was perfectly honest, a desire to keep himself safe. The boundaries Xun had set had been pretty clear and Glyph did not want to violate them... it just made it that much harder to be near the dragon, however.

He sighed, "You're such a coward, Forest. You wait and wait and then find what you were looking for and run away? Absurd."

Where was he ?! Faint annoyance mixed in with love and care and longing, oh that maddening longing...

He'd only stopped to find a glass bottle, then waited, in near-agony it felt like, as it filled up to the brim. Then, at last, he was able to cork it back up and start his search proper.

Except Forest wasn't anywhere he looked. The aoidei knew nothing. Certainly he wouldn't have left before telling him ? Oh-

In a rare sight, Ti Lung took to the skies. He prefered his own element and terra-firma, for the most part, but he could fly. It wasn't like these wings were just for show ! Of course, he was nowhere near as graceful as the Celestial in his own element, and a part of him wondered how loudly Tian Yue might be laughing if he was watching this.

Oh well.

He flew on for what seemed to be forever, long enough for his wings to start to tire from the effort, until, finally... A sniff revealed that particular scent of greenery.

there !

The dragon started his descent, his small size making it easy for him to wave in between the trees. "There you are !" The bottle was carefully hooked on one claw, which he was careful not to step on as he landed.

User Image Glyph froze when Xun's voice rang out into the silence of the woods and he bit his lip, heart leaping in his chest. Now of all times!? Suppressing the desire to flash off into the woods and lose the dragon, Glyph closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.

Then he sat up. The top of his head and his horn was visible above the sweep of grass and he lifted a hand, waving it to show the dragon where he was. Maybe it was Council business? "Looking for me? What's wrong?" He called, trying to peer over the grass without getting up.

"There you are..." He sounded oddly relieved, the fear that Glyph had simply skipped off to some council matter or another without warning him fading away. He was right there, but...

"...Is something wrong ?" This wasn't like him, at all, and suddenly he worried. Was Forest hurt ? Another sniff did not reveal the coppery scent of blood anywhere nearby, thankfully.

"I..." Where were his words, suddenly ? He'd kept them, repeated them, on the way there, and now that he was finally face to face with him, they seemed to vanish. Glyph's odd demeanor didn't help - did Forest somehow knew what he was here for.

Would... he be rejected ? Was he too late ? Oh, no, no...

User Image The relief in Xun's voice made him frown, a puzzled expression creasing his brow as he shifted to kneel and peer up over the top of the grasses. That didn't sound like a Council-business tone... His gaze lingered over the other's form, the beautiful blue hues that even now stood vivid in the twilight... when he saw something glint, he blinked what was in his claws?

The question caught him by surprise and he flushed, ducking back down in an awkward motion to hide his face. Inhaling deeply, he tried to bring himself together. "No... nothing's wrong. I just..." Then Xun faltered and Glyph looked up, confused.

"Are you okay? You arrived in a hurry..." He stood, finally, and walked through the grass, leaving a trail back to his little bed. Something about the dragon was different... he couldn't put a finger on it. "Is something wrong? You seem nervous." He cast his gaze around, eyes narrowed. Conflict he might be, he still cared for Xun... and if someone had hurt the other....

The thought drew his attention back to the dragon and he looked him over, searching for injuries, "Are you hurt? What's this?" He gestured at the bottle.

He kept sniffing even as Glyph came closer, as if that would give him the answers he sought. But no, no unusual smells, nothing at all.

Uh.

"I couldn't find you." He explained. "I thought you'd left without telling me." He admitted - silly as it was.

"Im not hurt." Why would he be hurt ? Not many things in their right minds would challenge a dragon, really.

The question did remind him of the bottle - and his front leg rose to gently drop it into Glyph's hands. "It is water. From the Wellspring I made, at Harmodius' request. There is likely no purest water..."

...Really, maybe he should have thought up a better gift than that. What did he expect Glyph to do with a bottle of water, pure as it was ? "I... I just..."

Enough.

"...I decided." He closed his eyes, willed his tail still less it betrayed the fact that he could feel himself shaking. "...That I love you."

The emphasis on the I was impossible to miss. "If... you would have me. I know I am not... her. Not completely."

User Image "You were worried because you couldn't find me?" He smiled at that, couldn't help it, and shook his head, "I wouldn't leave without telling you, Xun. Not if I could help it."

The bottle of spring water was dropped in his hands and he blinked, catching it as he looked up at Lifewater. The importance of the gift wasn't lost on him... not remotely. Water was life, especially for forest and his puzzled expression furrowed his brow further, "Thank-you... What's the occasion?" He opened the top and inhaled the fragrant perfume of pure water, a clean, delicious smell that lifted his spirit.

"...I decided."

Xun's voice drew Glyph's attention back to the dragon and he held the water close, suddenly nervous. This was it, he was sure of it. Xun would tell him they would part ways... and he braced himself for it, ears drooping just a tad as he gripped the bottle.

"... That I love you."

Glyph's eyes widened at that, he tilted his head, "Huh?" Disbelief hung heavy in his voice as his ears flicked, trying to process that statement but Xun was already continuing. Forest stood there, gripping the bottle so tight his knuckles had gone white, as he flushed.

This had been the last thing he expected. He exhaled, not realizing he'd been holding his breath and stared at Xun, relief quickly flooding past the chill of fear that had gripped him heartbeats ago, "You... mean, you didn't come to reject me?" He bit his lip, suddenly fumbling with his words as he felt the tension ease from him and the smile blossom on his lips - he was very obviously glad Xun hadn't rejected him.

"I..." Glyph stepped in close and laughed softly, "I know you're not her... but I realized I love you, for you." Yes, he loved Illisia, but he'd... fallen for Xun too, loved the being before him just as much, understood that now.

He wrapped his arms around the other, lingered there a moment as he smiled, "I was so afraid. Thank-you, Xun."

Reject him ? Reject him ? What kind of madness was that ? Even had his most lost, at his most confused, the thought had never entered his mind, not really.

"As if I could." Really, what had Forest been thinking ?

Silly, silly little bonzai.

It was his turn to be nervous, but it also turned out to be foolish on his side, as well, and he lowered his head for Forest's benefit. Shifting back hadn't even entered his mind - this form was just as much, if not more, natural to him than the other, more humanoid form that still was not quite his'.

"I was afraid, too. That I... had done you harm by taking so long." He sighed, relieved. "But to try to move too quickly, without being sure, might have harmed you as well..." It had seemed like something he simply could not win.

Until now.

User Image He laughed softly, his mood much improved in the last few moments, "Not so long... not really. I wasn't sure, myself, what I wanted either. It's been such a tangle... But see now, understand better." Glyph gave another hug to the dragon then turned away, padding back to his bed, "Sit with me and share this drink? No better gift, I think."

He flashed a winsome smile and gestured with his hand, "I've been watching the sky. There's no lights from the Pantheon here, so the stars are pristine when he appear... and the grass is so fragrant." Pausing at the edge of the area he'd flatted, Glyph eyed the dragon, a quirk to his lips, "Can you drink without spilling like that?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:21 pm

"Hmm." Really, he might have found the joint realization odd, but he didn't want to think about it. All he wanted to think about was Forest, and the moment they were now sharing.

Being responsible could hold on a moment.

He followed, gladly, and laid down in the grass. It was tall, but not uncomfortable, really. He found he rather liked it - but liked the presence beside him more, long tail wandering to curl around Glyph.

"Of course I can." Was that meant to be a challenge ? "I did carry it all this way without dropping it." He puffed up a little, clearly proud of himself. "I did not expect to have to sniff out a tiny little tree after having gathered it."

Well, perhaps some things didn't change.

User Image He smiled when the tail curled around him and patted it, leaning back to rest against Xun, "Yeah... I... Well, I didn't want to make things worse. You made it so clear to start about you did and did not want..." Glyph sighed, letting the tiny comment roll off him for once.

He took a swig of the water and grinned at how very fresh and pure it was. "This is incredible. Thank-you. Want some?" He held the bottle aloft, one arm resting on Lifewater's flank.

"I did not mean to seem so unbending..." He signed. "I just... wanted to be sure first. It was so new when I said that... I was really new, when I said that." Both the unified beings old beyond years, and yet... Well, they'd talked about this before. This definitively had held true, and still did, in some ways. "This is my fault... will you forgive me ?" He looked sideways, giving the best 'woobly kitten eyes' that a horse-sized dragon could manage.

He accepted the bottle carefully, and, well... poured some in his other paw. There was no way he was going to be able to drink from the bottle proper, but he didn't really feel like shifting just for that.

User Image"No... I understand, truly I do." Glyph snugged up against the other and shifted to rest his head against Xun's shoulder, "I was... waiting, I think. Not just for you, but for me. I love Illisia... but I needed to see if I liked you for who you are and not because you took, and in part are, Illisia. It wouldn't be fair, I don't think."

Forest laughed softly at the request for forgiveness and patted the dragon's side, "Of course." He watched the other take the bottle then yelped as Xun poured it into his talons, "I said not to spill it!" He frowned at the dragon though it was more of a pout, and took the bottle back, tipping it up to taste the drink within.

He was grinning when he pulled the water away and pressed his lips together, "Here. I'll pour it for you... okay?" Clambering up, he tilted the bottle slightly with am impish grin, knowing he'd either get pounced and pinned by a dragon, or chased about by a beautiful god - neither of which he'd really complain about, "Since you're too lazy to shift back. You don't have anything I haven't seen before, y'know." He winked.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:30 pm

"Understandable." Really, it was kind of the same for him, not that he thought about it. He had needed to figure out if he liked Glyph because he did, or before Illisia had liked him.

Confusing, really. No wonder he'd gotten tangled in a seemingly never-ending webs of what-ifs and what-should-be-done.

"I am not spilling it." The dragon gave a mock-huff, and proved his point by lapping the water that had gathered in his palm after the bottle was snatched from him.

"Oh, I know, I definitively remember you having a pretty close encounter with the twins." His tail was wagging back and forth - clear sign of an incoming pounce. "You'd think she'd have taken that as an hint..."

User Image"Are too!" He insisted, with a laugh and blushed at the reminder of his face plant in Illisia's chest, "I didn't mean to! Not that I'm complaining, they're so... so..." He made a gesture with his hands outlining a woman's curves as if to indicate the whole of Xun and chuckled, "well, nice."

Glyph was keeping an eye on the other's tail and backed up, slowly, a grin playing across his lips. He was in a playful mood, mischievous and in high spirits. "Careful now, you don't want to trip!" Another step back, and another, lingering just long enough to imply an invitation to follow. He took a deep sip of the water and arched a brow, eyes sparking with mischief.
