[ RP for Abbey n Taley/Emi, since the main threads are busy :3 ]

Abbey stepped out of her house, a basket in her hand - contents carefully covered with a blanket. She shut the door behind her and checked the lock as False pranced impatiently around her feet, nipping at her clothes. Where were they going? Hurry hurry hurry lets go out the weather's great and it's sunny and bright and I wanna see stuff andand-- Abbey smiled down at her Aerandir, "Excited, love? We're going to Emi's house today," False recognised the name, and trotted at the girl's heels as she walked down the dusty track, "Let's hope she'll be in."

She raised her arm to block the sunlight from her eyes and checked the sky. It was late morning - around lunchtime, and it was warm, the sun beating down mercilessly on the island. She returned her gaze to her surroundings, fanning herself lazily with her spare hand as she sped up slightly. She disliked the heat, and it was especially bad out here. False was ecstatic, racing around Abbey's feet - not seeming to take any heed of the heat, and if anything, relishing it and the sunlight.

The two made it to house number one after not too long, and Abbey paused at the step, hesitating before raising a hand and knocking on the door with False peeking around her legs.

Another lazy morning had come and gone, both furry, dog and Aerandir having tucked themselves away with another reading source material. All ears twitched simultaneously at the knock, two turning to the door - while the other flapped her way back up to Emi's shoulder blade.

Pausing, Emi let her thick hardback copy of Captain Corelli's slide off her lap and back onto the floor. It took a moment to comprehend, but metallic blue orbs swivelled from the book, to Blanche, to the letter on the table, back to Blanche and then ending up on the letter. That's right, Abbey said she would pop over sometime soon. Or at least she hoped it was Abbey.

"Coming," With a quick glance over the bottom floor, eyes scanned for any messes un-tidied. Exhaling a long breath of relief, the furry edged towards the door, pulling the heavy oak door open.

Blanche fluttered and flittered where she was. Nervousness overtook, and soon the Aerandir was delved in as much brown curly hair as she could, white head and black beak poking out from one side of Emi's shoulder. Her tail continued to swish from one side to the other behind her, clicking in welcome when she recognised the male Gryphon at the door.

"Hello again." Emi started this time, a genuine smile spreading from one ear to the other. Her large animalistic ears flickered back from her skull, returning to their usual lax position. Well, lets see if she could redeem herself this time.

Abbey smiled as the door opened, "Hi, Emi. It's nice to see you again."

False perked up once the door was opened-- he recognised the three! He immediately gambolled into the room and reared onto his hind legs, placing his forepaws on Emi's legs to cry a happy greeting to the other Aerandir.

"False!" Abbey pursed her lips at him. Deciding that he wasn't really doing that much harm, she commented sheepishly to Emi, scratching the back of her head, "Sorry, he's been really lively lately. I suppose it's a good thing."

Abbey, took a quick glance around the room, before sitting herself hesitantly on the sofa, basket in lap, "It's been awhile since I've seen you - how have you and Blanche and Tobey been?"

False meanwhile, apparently didn't believe in formalities -- with a flap of his wings he bounded playfully at Blanche, hoping for some old fashioned tussling.

Blanche clicked in surprise as he bounded up towards her. Using her tail as a balance, the young gryphon propelled herself into the air, wings outstretching to flap rapidly. Apparently she hadn't taught herself how to fly yet, and what little flapping that did take place came to no amends, other than the vain attempt to bounce to one side.

Finding herself only just a few paws outstretch away from False, she clicked, bounding around the side of him. White paws made nimble work of the footwork, bushy tail following in succession behind her. She'd never been so lively, but a good game of tussling and trying to catch the other sounded like a plan at the moment.

Her tail whipped out, pushing the door closed. The door creaked, but soon enough it was closed. Finding the nearest chair, Emi darted over to retrieve the book from the sofa, sliding it back onto the coffee table before perching on the edge of the nearest chair.

"We've been alright, Blanche seems to have an obsession recently with a fridge, and my old work friend got in touch the other day," Emi started. Really, what had they been up to? Not a lot other than covering the Ar 'Idil kitchen with Banana milkshake.

"How have you been then?" She questioned. Noting Abbey's hesitant nature, she slid back a little into the chair, fiddling with the hardback book in her lap.

False scrambled after the other Aerandir, blunt claws scrabbling loudly on the floor. His movements were cumbersome, and his awkward flapping of wings for no particular reason didn't really seem to help - he seemed likely to trip over himself. He tumbled after Blanche, following her movements and wasting as much energy as possible to pounce at her at every opportunity - though it seemed unlikely for the larger one to catch the agile fox-gryphon.

Abbey listened to Emi, relaxing more as the other spoke, "I've been fine, really. I can't imagine how time flies here; it doesn't seem like I've done anything and days have already gone by..." She fiddled with the bottom of her shirt a bit, gaze shifting to the playing Aerandir, and suddenly found herself at a loss of what to say. Fanning herself idly with one hand, she awkwardly plucked a topic out of nowhere, "It's been rather hot lately, hasn't it? Supposedly it'll only get worst in March."

False, having just gathered his bearings from a failed pounce, took the moment to barrel carelessly into Blanche, ending up tangled up with the other gryphon in a bundle of fur and feathers on the floor. He took the moment to catch his breath - not making any indications of moving any further for the moment.

Abbey nodded sympathetically, "I dislike hot weather, myself -- although it used to get a lot hotter where I came from." She glanced out the window again - the sky still stared back at her blankly, no clouds in sight, nor any apparent respite of the heat, "Maybe we could go swimming down at the beach? It'd be a nice way to cool down."

A rather surprised click left the usually quiet Gryphon. Rolling over on the wooden flooring, she ended up eye to eye with False. Large golden orbs settled on black, Blanche clicking happily despite the obvious mix up of feathers, paws, and bodies.

"If you don't mind me asking, where exactly did you come from in Gaia?" Emi questioned, pulling herself up to her feet. Her paws fell on the floor, pulling herself upright. Large tail flicked from one side to the other behind her, swimming would be a good idea. Even paddling at this point sounded like a good idea.

"Swimming sounds like a good idea, and it would cool us down." She called, dashing into a door set off to one side. Tail whisking behind the door, the furry came back with a white fluffy towel laden across one arm. Smiling over towards Abbey, she couldn't help but chuckle at the uncompromising position both Gryphons found themselves in.

"How'd you fancy going for a swim little one?" She questioned, bending down. Extending her fingers, Blanche bent up to preen her cheek towards the chocolate coloured finger, clicking just the once in response.
"Yes, with False." Both guardian and Aerandir gleamed for a moment, the young woman picking herself up to her feet- straightening out her shorts.

"Of course, as long as that's alright with you? We could always go paddle instead?" Emi turned, suddenly worried about Abbey's response. Fingers fiddling with the edge of her t-shirt, she gazed up towards the younger girl, not quite meaning to have spilled twenty questions at once.

"Oh, a place," Abbey commented vaguely, and added quickly in a rush of words, "Another world - came in through portals and magic and the like and you don't really want to know, really, nothing special."

Her gaze shifted as Emi got up, and she smiled, bemused at the two Aerandirs. She walked over to heft False up out of the mess and looked up at Emi, False in her arms, basket still in hands, "I think it'd be lovely. False and I don't go down to the beach as often as we should, do we?" She petted False, and he tossed his head up to n** at her fingers fondly, in some sort of mute agreement. As an afterthought, she added, indicating towards the covered basket with a nod, "I brought some food with me, so we could have a little lunch while we're out, as well."

After the flurry of words about this other world, Emi left it there. She'd found, much to her own luck, that people got a little edgy and once it got to that state - it was best to leave it. Folding up the towel, she offered her arms out for the little Aerandir.

Blanche's tail swished from one side to the other behind her, lying in a rather bemused position. Pulling her paws around, she straightened her long wings out, crooning her neck forwards to pull herself upright. One paw after the other, she climbed up onto Emi's arm, darting up towards her shoulder blade like a pro.

"Lunch? Well, as long as you're sure." Emi added. They hadn't eaten much food as of late. Back home, Emi would have just ordered in the nearest take away, skipped meals, or even just tried to battle with the microwave with a packet of dry food. However, so far she'd managed to feed Blanche on slithers of meat fried at the centre. None of them had gone hungry quite yet.

Blanche cocked her head to one side at the mention of food. Forwarding one paw before the other, she plopped down onto her stomach. Resting her black beak back down onto her front milky white paws, the pitch white Aerandir Gryphon eyed up the basket. It was a foreign object- that somehow resembled their washing basket.

It took a while, but Toby lifted his head as all of them went for the door. Not one to be left out, he scrambled to his feet, following them to the door - tail wagging.

Abbey shielded her eyes from the sun for the second time that day as she squinted at the sea. It was as hot as ever down here - but a stray tree or two threw some dubious islands of shade over the ground, which would do as pleasant spaces to spread the picnic. The sea loomed up in front of the party -- huge and calm, as the tide lapped tamely at the shore. False flapped his wings, lifting himself up onto his hind paws in some form of excitement as he saw the sea -- but he'd already mostly tired himself out mostly from bolting back and forth on the way to the beach.

The girl turned and smiled at Emi, gesturing at the trees as she strolled towards them, "The shade looks like a good spot to dump our stuff."

Meanwhile, False made his own way down towards the water, and peered at the waves curiously, staying just out of reach of the lazily moving water.

The sun didn't seem to want to stop that day, relentless in knocking it's rays down onto the earth below. Scorching hot, the party trailed onto the beach, the warm water lapping up at the shore seeming strangely inviting.

Not even the sea breeze blew through the Aerandir's fur, the tide as calm as ever this morning. Following Abbey, Emi dropped her towel onto the sand. Toby collapsed beside it, tongue lolling out, eyes closed. Panting, he stretched his back paws out on the sand - glad for the small amount of shade the palm tree thrust out over them.

Blanche just looked around wide-eyed, treading carefully alongside her guardian. Never trailing too far from her side, the gryphon weaved in and out between Emi's paws, diving after False once or twice on the way there. Tail held low, she dashed down the beach, muzzle down. Streamline, she skidded to a halt just before the sea, letting the waves lap over her pristine white paws.

"We'll have to give you a fur cut if it's going to get much hotter," Emi commented, bending down to stroke over the rough border collie's fur. Stroking her fingers between his ears. It really was hot, and she couldn't let Toby go around with his winter coat much longer.

"Alright then, need any help?" Emi questioned, glancing up towards Abbey. Stroking one last time over Toby's dark ears, she pulled herself back up to her feet to help set the blanket out.

False let the water lap over his paws, padded cautiously into the water a bit, with a backwards glance at Blanche. It was a rather nice feeling after the hot hot hot all day and the water was shiny and he was sort of tired, so, with the water part ways up his legs, and he lay down, letting the water pull in and out lazily around him, cooling him down a bit.

Farther away from the water, with the help of Emi, Abbey spread the blanket out, weighing the corners down carefully with stones and shells, even though there wasn't that much of a breeze. She then sprawled out on the cloth and checked her basket, "Are we eating now? I brought some bread, cheese, ham, mayonnaise, salad... Would've made the sandwiches at home, but wasn't sure what you'd like. Got flasks of iced water and juice for drinks. And some biscuits and fresh apples... Hmm..."

She pushed the basket gently towards Emi so she could have a look while Abbey sat up and rambled on, absentmindedly, "Come to think -- apart from an apple tree, I've got a lot of plants and seeds that I need to plant. You can take some if you like, or come over and help me out. That is, if you like gardening; I love gardening."
