Raiden perched on top of a tree and brooded. It was probably weird to see a lion in such a position, particularly a lion as large as a god. But he didn't care, because sine he was a god, and so, could defy gravity, it was no big deal. He just wanted to sit very high up, on the tallest tree he could find in the savannah, and think.
That was a very different thing for him, since he didn't often sit around and think much. He was an impulsive creature. Ironically, that was what had him thinking. The Stormborn... hm, he may have screwed something up over there by now. It was rather likely. In some ways he rather enjoyed the time spent with the pride, because of the respect his alter-ego got there. But it was strangely irritating to have to pretend to be a mortal so often, and try to keep your lies consistent.
He figured he just needed a break, or something. From mortals, and their... being mortals.

Gwen could be mistaken as any mortal. Perhaps that was the reason she chose to stay on the Earth, rather than in the Havens. Being a wingless goddess gave her the advantage to blend in amongst those of this world. She rather enjoyed it. Sometimes she would be able to fool her fellow Gods, if it weren’t for the armor she wore on her legs, and the glowing pendant that caressed her neck. Not to mention she was much larger than your typical mortal.
Today she was strolling the lands, feeling the powerful sun on her back. She could fly if she wanted too, even though she lacked the wings to do so. But the goddess preferred walking. She was a strange immortal some would think.
Sensing another was around somewhere in the vicinity, the female didn’t plop to the ground. Instead, she was vigilant, looking for someone on the ground, rather than a large lion masking himself in a tree. Lions weren’t suppose to climb! Only leopards really. Bring her gaze to the tree tops never once crossed her mind.

He probably wouldn't have bothered with the white lioness on the floor at first glance. Other creatures had passed by his perch, and Raiden hadn't been in the mood to investigate the other times, either. A few birds had hurriedly flown off once they had seen the monstrosity perched at the top of the tree. He didn't blame them, really.
But something about this white lioness just seemed a little off, that's all. She was big, and he may have passed that off as just... heritage, or something. Firekin were big, too. The children of gods were also often large. But for some reason he got curious, and decided to investigate. Raiden took to his usual approach, taking the form of a small black bird to flit down and investigate.
That pendant was... unnatural. Not the kind of thing a mortal would have. "Ah," The black bird said loudly in a very un-birdlike voice, tilting its head at the goddess. "And who are you?" Raiden asked, returning to his normal form, because it seemed silly to be anything else in the presence of another of his own kind.

She heard the flitter of wings in the trees above as a small black bird left its perch to fly near her. Unusual birds were, especially this one. One would think such a skittish creature would fly away from a lion, rather than towards one. She wouldn’t think it was a shape shifted God, for they usually disguised themselves as mortal lions, then prey beast of the predators.
Her ears perked at the large voice for such a small bird. At his words, she gave a smile, only to widen just a bit when Raiden showed his true form. No wonder this bird was strange.
“My name is Gwenhwyfar~” she stated in a sing song tone. Her voice was sweet, one that matched her domain greatly. “And you are?”
When the God introduced himself, she lioness took a chance to gaze at his large wings, not envious, but curious sometimes just what it would be like to have such appendages. “You turn into a black bird when others are around?” She asked after a moment. One day, she would find her own form to be around the mortals. She didn’t know exactly what though.

At least it was a friendly immortal. Raiden had a few bad memories of a death or two at the hands of another god. His memories were strange, and popped up at random times, and he usually didn't remember specifics. Just I-have-been-killed-by-a-god-before. Never who he had been, or who he'd been killed by. That was why he always wondered if he'd ever met other gods before.
"Raiden, thunder. Either one." He shrugged, and decided it was alright to step closer. He closed his wings as he moved, and noted that she didn't seem to have any herself. Maybe she as in disguise... but why would she be? "I turn into a lot of things. Helps me decide whether or not I want to really show up." He sometimes liked to spy on mortals a little before he played with them. That way he could know an unnerving amount of information, and freak them out with it.
