 Ammon had thought he had been making some headway through the vast rogue lands from his old pride on his quest to find his sister Nefertari. However, upon talking to another rogue male he learned that these lands were much, much larger then what he had seen thus far and in fact he was barely a quarter of the way in.
How could a plot of land be so big and uninhabited by a pride or group? The idea baffled him, but then again the world was a much bigger place. Or at least that is what he thought when he tried to picture it. Stopping and shaking his head he looked down at his purple paws. "Times like these I wish I was a better tracker." Ammon frowned, lifting his head. Had he have taken his fathers words to heart and actually practiced, maybe right now he would be much closer to reaching his sister then he was now. Her scent was nowhere to be found which he knew meant she had either moved on or was dead.
Thankfully though she was a much better tracker and hunter then he was. It would take a pretty powerful lion or likewise to tear her down. Though, it was probably unlikely she would even allow herself to die at the claws or paws of anything other then a lion. Ammon smiled. Oh his dear sister--biggest heart in the world, yet she was prejudice against other creatures. "How'd that happen?" He questioned himself as a small chuckle bellowed from his chest.
Taking in a deep breath he scanned the horizon. The sun was still in the middle of the sky but he knew that it would soon begin it's descent to other side. Though, it seemed a bit to early for him to wander off and try to find a place to sleep. "Hmm." Ammon said to himself as he thought of what he should do now.*Will replace image with cert when it arrives*

 Ryuu pranced about and poked a bug that was on a leaf. As it took off and fluttered away, she grinned and poked her nose at the leaf it had been on. She took in the smell the bug had left behind and also the smell of the plant. There were so many things in the rogue lands. So many different areas with different smells. She loved them all. All the plants, all the creatures, all the different kinds of rocks and dirt, it all gave her a thrill of excitement.
The maned wolf might have been a tad excitable, but she usually had her father and the wild dog he traveled with to keep her company and mellow her out a bit. Today, she had neither one of the 'old males' along to dampen things. She grinned as she explored termite hill and then pulled her nose up to sniff the air. She was sure she had smelled lion. But where was it coming from? She went padding off as quietly as she could to find the source of the smell.
She was not expecting to find it so easily. Of course the noise he was making helped with that. "Not very quiet for a lion, are you?" She tilted her head as she regarded the lion. "What are you doing making so much noise when you are all alone? Don't you know that it is dangerous?" She giggled a little and padded forward to make sure he wasn't hurt or anything. He hadn't sounded hurt to her ears, but she wanted to make sure. "You lost? You do not act like a loner."

To say he was surprised by the sudden voice of another was an understatement. He thought for sure he jumped at least a foot off of the ground as he whirled around to face a black dog with yellow spots. As he stood there blinking he noticed the wolf was female and that she was talking to him. Gently shaking his head he wiped the shock and surprise from his maw.
"Are lions here usually quiet?" He asked a bit confused, mimicing her head tilt, just in the opposite direction. When she stepped closer he smiled and quickly puffed out his chest a bit. "Do not fear, I am large and burly. I can fend them off miss." He said, before deflating and laughing a bit at himself. Ammon shook his head. "I am not lost. Just... Searching for someone." He replied. Okay, so he was lost. But then again he was in a new land that was unfamiliar so maybe he wasn't. That would be a bit confusing to explain though.
"What about you? Don't you know to never sneak up on someone like that?Could give someone quite a fright!" Ammon added, not intending to sound condescending. Also trying to ignore the fact that she had indeed scared him out of his fur. "Where did you come from?" He asked, looking around before returning his gaze back to her. "I'm Ammon."

Ryuu got a very devious twinkle in her eyes when the lion jumped. Oh yeah, this was just too good to pass up. He really did not act like someone used to being out away from a pride. "Yes, they are quite quiet... It is hard to survive out here if you cant sneak up on things... like food. Anything you might want to hunt is long gone with as loud as you are." She poked his chest after he deflated. "Yeah, no, you really are not that scary... I think most of the scary critters would die laughing if you tried to puff up like that to scare them off."
"Searching for someone... that might take you a while. There is a LOT of ground to cover out here." She reached out and patted him on the head. "But I'm sure your fancy little paws are used to walking even if they aren't used to sneaking, right?" She might be teasing the lion. And it might not be the smartest thing for a maned wolf to do, but it was amusing to her. Ryuu just liked to have fun was all. "I know that if I sneak up on you first, you are less likely to eat me." She nodded sagely. "And I came from where every maned wolf comes from... a momma maned wolf." She winked at him and gave him a cheeky grin.

"I am not terrifying to you because I have no reason to be." He said with a nod, still smiling proudly. "Despite how I act, I'm actually a great hunter. Tracker, could use some improvement. But hunting is my trade." Ammon replied with a large devilish grin. However it quickly faded as his attention was pulled down to his paws. They weren't fancy were they? He certainly didn't think so. "Fancy paws?" He quickly asked before finally responding. "I'm able to walk great distances without to much trouble."
His orange eyes made their way back to her gold one's a bit more of a cocky grin on his maw this time. "Maybe. Or maybe I'm the type of lion to lure you in with my good looks and charm." Ammon said, his grin dropping but still retaining a friendly tone. "Lucky for you I am not." He nodded before chuckling at her response. "That was not what I meant small one."

Ryuu put her nose right against the lion's. "I don't know if I would call you charming... cute maybe, slightly fluffy, but not sure on the charming part. Your paw markings are fancy enough, I hope you are a good hunter, it is a lot harder to catch food out here than in most of the pridelands where you have friends to help." She pulled herself back a bit and licked his nose. She tilted her head again as she studied the male a little more. "There is a lot of ground to cover if you are searching for someone out here... especially if there is a chance they joined another pride. There are LOTS of prides and packs... and pride-packs with the roguelands separating them."
"I was not far from here checking out a bug and I caught a whiff of lion and heard you, so I came to see what was going on. I have others to travel with, even if only my father and his wild dog companion. But we have been out here forever... you rather stick out as not belonging out here." The wolf's tail stick out behind her as she watched the lion. His orange eyes looked honest to her, and that was important. "You might want to find someone to travel with, just so you are not lonely."

Ammon stood there looking at the maned wolf for several moments, not responding due to her not only touching his nose but licking it. He couldn't help but blush a bit. This female was rather forward and well.. He had never been that close to a female of any breed. Not for their lack of trying though. "I--I uh." Ammon said, clearing his throat. "It's unlikely she joined another pride. At least not this soon...." Ammon trailed off, not entirely sure himself if his sister had or not. She did leave their pride after all.
"In my old pride we hunted alone. A male had to prove himself worthy to have a family or to impress the females there. Even though we were betrothed rather then being able to choose our mates." He explained. "When I find her I will have a companion. But for now I am fine." Ammon said with a gentle smile. Sure he was lonely at times but, he could manage for now. Although, he wouldn't be opposed to finding a companion to travel with across the lands. It would just have to depend on what happened along his journey. "I'm glad to hear that you have others to travel with though. You are far to innocent to be wandering the lands alone."

Ryuu laughed at the male's reaction to her touching his nose and licking it. It was quite amusing to watch the lion blush and stutter over something like that. Some female feline was going to have a fun time with him out here, she was sure. "If your sister is as pretty and fancy as you, she probably has males following on her heels, so she should not be hard to find." The maned wolf did not like the sound of his old pride. It took too much fun out of the idea of mating let alone companionship.
"Your old pride does not sound like a very nice place to have to call home. My parents may have only gotten together to have pups and mom dad raised us, but at least there was free choice on the whole encounter happening." She laughed again at the comment about her being innocent. She was far from innocent, in her own opinion. "Let me guess, your sister left because she was going to be stuck with some jerk she hated?" It would have been a good reason to leave as far as Ryuu was concerned.

At the wolfs response to his sister he was confused for a moment. He had never really considered her to mate with a male of these lands. She certainly was not easy, unlike what he had heard of the other lionesses of these lands. And seeing as how she left their pride due to their parents pushing her to marry.. Well let's just one of the cruelest males there, he found the idea of her running of a mating with one here impossible. Then again, Nefertari had surprised him many times before. Why would it end now?
"To say the least, it wasn't. But, get enough dimwits together you eventually form a pride or a pack." He said with a sigh. "Then it continues on into the future generations until, well me and my sister get fed up and leave." Ammon said with a nod. "It wasn't that simple. Let's just say the lion she was going to pressured into marrying might as well have been a lunatic who's only joy in life was from the suffering of others." Ammon replied, gritting his teeth.

The maned wolf gave a little barking laugh and shook her head. "I have seen a few rogues form little traveling prides that are quite good. Members come and go as they please, and the only rules are that they respect each other. That might be a better choice for you and your sister when you find her." Ryuu couldn't help but think this lion would not be suited to Athena's little group. Athena was a bit fluffy lion with a huge heart, one that had attracted quite a few females to travel with him and even bare him cubs. But she doubted that the lion in front of her would want to take up such a loose association for traveling.
"I know of a few lunatics like that out here. They don't only occur in prides. I am sure you will find your sister if you look hard enough. I would suggest trying to get into her mind to figure out which way she would go. Tracking is not all about scent and what you can see... It helps if you can get into the thoughts of the prey so you have an idea where to look for them." It was probably the wisest thing the young maned wolf would ever say in her life, but it made it no less true coming from she who was barely into adulthood. She tilted her head to see how the lion would take her words.

"A traveling pride... That sounds rather interesting." He said though his thoughts were already becoming lost in the idea of it. Once more Ammon was purely baffled by this female. She was so bold and just all around odd, foreign perhaps. Sure it might just be due to his upbringing in his old pride but were females of any species really this bold? If so Ammon would surely have his work cut out for him in these lands. His sister would be more likely to hang around with females then males as, again, she was not a loose type. So his information would probably come from females.
The young male sighed and dropped his head slightly. "I think I just delved into her mind.... And I'm not so sure I like the outcome of this." He said before looking up at the wolf. "I will try to heed your advice." Ammon said, still a little unsure and loosing a bit more confidence in himself. This was surely becoming a trip of disastrous proportions.

Ryuu pranced a little as she talked to the male. Lions were odd, but she loved them so much for conversation. "It is not an official pride, but it certainly acts like one with the supporting each other part... no crazy customs though." She grinned and pawed the grass under her paws. There was so much she wished she could ask the male about his pride and what his life was like, just so she could know all the workings of this weird world he came from. But she knew better. He was focused on finding his sister, and her distraction would not help him. She had to be good and focus on what he needed.
"Some things are not always pleasant, especially when they involve those we care for. I am sure you will find her safe. It is more likely she met someone nice than otherwise. There are crazies out here, but truthfully, they are usually easy to avoid. Maybe you will find her being fawned over by admirers?" The maned wolf shrugged. "Try to stay positive... and don't forget to eat... it makes things easier... I probably should let you get back to looking." Ryuu didn't want to leave him, but if she didn't, he wasn't going to get back to tracking. She knew very well how much of a distraction she could be without trying.

"You are probably right." The lion smiled and nodded his head. He didn't want to believe that something happened to his sister along the way. Besides, she was just as strong and capable as any male he had ever known, despite what his parents had taught him. Then again Ammon didn't really follow anything that they taught him.
"I would like to believe that she is unharmed and living her life here how she pleases." Ammon paused and then smiled. It was true, he did need to get back to searching for his sister. He had, had a nice conversation with this maned wolf. It had recharged him and also quelled his worries a bit. "Thank you Ruu for the talk. But you are right. I need to get back on my way to finding my sister." He grinned and gently patted his paw against the back of her shoulders. "I hope to meet you again one day soon." He told her truthfully before he once more was off on the hunt to find his sister.
