Training Mist Hunter The Miss Taken Tower General Information As the general, jack-of-all trades division, the Mist Hunter training course is a combination of the other divisions' training challenges and also one of the more complicated. The goal of this course is to rescue the princess in the tower. Below her, you'll find yourself confronted with a number of shadowling attackers, and beyond them, a room of only slightly deadly traps. But even should you reach her location, you still need to pick the lock on the manacles holding her in place. Unskilled fiddling with the locks will prove unhealthy for both the princess and yourself. And once that's done, you need to make your way back down through the traps and shadowlings, defending the princess the whole way.
The Miss Taken Tower is one of the most challenging and frustrating courses available.
If you fail: your princess dies, and you are quite possibly KO'd. Senior hunters are observing and will make with a timely rescue as needed.
If you win: the princess will adore you for the rest of her exceedingly brief existence. Peen points for 100% health for you and the Princess, shadowlings fought, going for consecutive rescues.
Part 1 Mechanics - roll your regular attack - roll your regular attack again - if you miss an attack, you lose 50% of your full HP - if you have an available recovery bonus, you may try to use that to avoid HP loss
Bonus Mechanics - This bonus is consumable. - for the Mist Course, it is recommended you review the mechanics of the other division courses, as the division bonuses carry over.
- Trainees: 0 recoveries - Mist/Sun Trainees: 1 recovery - Hunters: 1 recovery - Mist/Sun Hunters: 2 recoveries
Part 2 Mechanics - there are two steps worth of traps in this room, so you'll be rolling twice
- roll 1 d10 to determine what your character is about to step into - use your bonus mechanic to adjust as you can - adjust your HP and bonus count accordingly - roll 1 d10 to determine what your character is about to step into - use your bonus mechanic to adjust as you can - adjust your HP and bonus count accordingly - roll list: (feel free to get creative about what the traps actually were) (-50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd)

Part 3 Mechanics - use the given roll for your hunter to try and open the lock on her right manacle. Rolling a 1 means you fumbled, and the cuff exploded causing both you and the princess to lose 50% of your full HP. - roll to repeat the process on the left manacle.
Bonus Mechanics
- Trainees: roll 1d4 - Mist/Life Trainees: roll 1d6 - Hunters: roll 1d6 - Mist/Life Hunters: roll 1d8
Part 4 Mechanics - roll 2 d8 to determine your defense against the trap area. - roll 2 d8 to determine how much trap damage targets the princess. - adjust her HP accordingly - roll 2 d8 to determine your defense against the shadowling area. - roll 2 d8 to determine how much shadow damage targets the princess. - adjust her HP accordingly - leftover defense does not stack

He was going to take a break from death. Or rather from deathsweeper. He had gone god knew how many times in that thing all in one day for what? Multiple painful deaths in a golem and getting mocked at by his superiors. He could take so much only for so long. So with a new day, he was off to start a new session that was hopefully easier. Granted, the Mist Tower had aspects of the deathsweeper, it couldn't be as bad right? Marcus doubted it would be the best experience of his life, but he was okay with that. Nothing would be as bad as deathsweeper all day. Nothing. Not even getting stuck in the subway on Manhattan island. Dis summoned, the first section was to be two waves of shadowlings. That? He could do no problem. Dis was practically purring as he cut the shadowlings down, hardly breaking a sweat. Round one down, but how many more to go? Chuckling, Marcus did a bit of sword twirling in the down time between waves. He was feeling like he was hot s**t. First wave was no issue, the second probably wasn't going to be hard either. You are a bit cocky today. Didn't we discuss this? A bit. Maybe I just feel good. Be careful my Marcus, we don't want you to go and get yourself knocked out on the first area not do we? It's shadow run, I got this. Like you had the deathsweeper that one time? ...No. Not that that. Then be less c**k sure about this. Right now- The shadowlings came at Marcus as second time, and like the first, Marcus managed to avoid them and kill others. Now you might wank, if just for a bit. As he dusted his coat off, Marcus hoped that on the next stage he'd fair better than he did in the original deathsweeper. That course ******** up his s**t hardcore. Dis was trying to look on the marginally bright side and in the fact that nobody was laughing at him yet. Marcus sadly couldn't help but agree. No one was laughing at him... yet. Didn't mean that if he failed he wouldn't be laughed at then. Knowing his track record, he somewhat expected it. He did spend a whole day trying to beat deathsweeper only to fail massively each time. So pardon him for having a bit of a bleak outlook at this. No excuses Pouty McBrood pants. You need to chin up and put on your sexiest boxers and deal with this. I what? That saying you humans have. Grunting as he made his way up the next set of steps, (well furthest he'd ever gotten), the door was before him, imposing and rather- harmless looking in comparison to the shadowlings and miniature death sweeper. Really, as far as training courses went this was not so bad. I mean, sure part of it had death sweeper, but the rest? A door. Shadow run. There was a princess. Not the worst in the least. Marcus was more than okay with this. Not to mention that he couldn't hear the princess singing. The fact the training was without horrible renditions of Disney songs was amazing, he had to admit. Then again never knew. Maybe that would come at the end with very Disney like princess dramatics. That seemed somewhat in place for this kind of thing. Still, Marcus would find out in due time, right now, in front of him a door stood in his way. "Piece of cake." Lock picking tools were even provided this was going to be a walk in the park. Or so he thought. He hardly had time to register that he'd failed as the door sent him back, knocking him out cold. Later, he'd realize that yes, he failed and yes, he'd have to take it again, but as he was passed out, all he could dream about was oddly enough, being a Prince Marcus to a certain Princess Cass.
