History:

Davana is the second child born to Devid and Arana of High Reaches Weyr, but the first to survive past her first year. Her parents are simple craftfolk, potters by trade, and she learned much of the craft from them before being searched. Kasabeth always claimed it was her kind attitude and high work ethic that decided her upon impression, but Davana suspects it was more that the energetic green needed someone a little tougher to keep up with her. Either way, she couldn't be happier with the way things have panned out and she's thrown herself into work as a dragonrider with all the determination she showed as a potters child.

Appearance:

Standing about 5'10", Davana is much like her dragon. Hefty. Not overly muscled nor fat by any means, Davana is simply big for a woman. Her hair is a dark shade of brown, hanging to mid-back and typically in a simple braid. Her eyes are a soft shade of hazel and her features are strong, but not blocky. She tends to wear grays, but since impressing Kasabeth, her wardrobe has started to take a green leaning.

Personality:

Both Davana and Kasabeth tend to be determined and dependable when it comes to their work. Their natural tendency to surpass most females their age is only increased by the way they throw themselves into their work, like a pair of horses in harness, getting the job done no matter how hard it might be. Often though, Davana doesn't have quite the stamina that her dragon does, a source of worry and frustration for the both of them when her strength starts to fail and it forces them to slow down. Kasabeth will throw herself into life outside of work with the same enthusiasm, but its Davana's serious bent that keeps her from over doing it and earning herself a bad reputation. Even though they both put their all into what they do, its usually Davana that tempers it, setting healthy limitations and curbing her head-strong dragon.

Strengths:
- Dependable: Davana can always be counted on to do what needs to be done, and do it well. She works as hard as anyone could ask, and then some.
- Level-headed: The green rider knows when something can be done and when it can't. She has a good eye for assessing strengths and weaknesses in both herself and in others. She won't push when a limit has been reached and is rather good at restraining her dragon when Kasabeth would rather keep right on going.

Weaknesses:
- Socially awkward: Davana never seems to feel comfortable outside a 'work' type setting. She's okay with people she knows very well, but with anyone else, she's awkward and clumsy, often saying exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time. She doesn't have many friends, so the few she does have are extra precious to her.
- Follower: A leader, Davana is not. She dislikes being the one to make all the decisions and have all the responsibility, so much so that she will purposefully set herself up so that she is sure to be placed below someone else. She can take orders very well, and even give them to lower ranks, but being in charge is more than a little nerve wracking for her. Without commands to follow, Davana tends to fall apart. Wing Second is perfect for her, in that regard, because she can defer to Ralla for the game plan, then make sure the rest of the wing carries it out.
