Oh yes, the hat is now at Big School.
Why uni is fun:
* I can't open the campus swipecard doors. I swipe my ID card at one particular computer lab, then try to turn the handle and pull. Nothing happens. I try to swipe it quickly and it denies me access. I swipe it slowly and it says I can enter but I still can't get the door open. Then I check the other two labs and they're booked; I try going around to the other door but it's locked and by now I'm too embarrassed to knock on it. I go back to the original door and swipe and swipe and SWIPE and push and feel like an idiot and every time I swipe the card thingy beeps and it's audible for miles. Finally I try pulling without turning the handle, hard, and the door opens. Now everyone in that lab thinks I'm a complete idiot.
* I thought for some reason that my Written Japanese lecturer would be some middle-aged stern old guy, but it turns out he's about 25 with really cute mannerisms, and is kind of hot. Dammit.
* I get fit walking the 10,738 miles to get to and from the centre of town and the bus interchange.
* The people at the local pub know what I drink.
* I have no money from buying textbooks, but students get cheap rates for everything on Earth! biggrin

No, I was still here, just temporarily in lurkerdom because a.) my connection sucked and b.) RL-dramas that no one wants to know about would have made me sound like bi-polar spam. But now I am at uni, which gives me the excuse to go to parties and get up at 9am every day! *am touched someone missed me*

I've never been locked out, but the other day I thought I locked myself into the tiny room under the stairs that holds our washing machine in the apartment. Then I realized my stupidity in that the door had only been stuck in the frame. There was no lock in the handle to begin with. xd Hahaha! Go me!

University is awesome...though I don't think I ever appreciated it so much as I did after working in a bunch of yucky jobs, one after another.

evilwildlex University is awesome...though I don't think I ever appreciated it so much as I did after working in a bunch of yucky jobs, one after another. *shuddertwitch* Ew, retail. Retail is indeed evil. It makes you appreciate the more intellectual, carefree existence (well, except for exams) of being at college. I, too, have worked a number of yucky jobs. The thing about college I always liked was after you've done what you're doing for 4 or 5 months, you get to do something entirely different of your own choosing. With a job, all you see when you look forward is that same job. On and on into the dull, dreary and hopeless future ... cry
