Quote: "In a society that has abolished all adventure, the only adventure left is to abolish that society."
Name: Maxwell di Marko (formerly Markus Maximus XII)
Name Meaning / Nicknames: "Markus Maximus XII" was more of a title than a name during Maxwell's time as a Quarut, identifying his presigious rank, as well as the 12th model in his series. Now most either call him Max or Mark.
Gender: Male.
Age: He's been human now for just about four years. Before that, he travelled the Omniverse as an ageless being for untold eons.
Sexuality: Maxwell prefers the allure of females in the long run, but to one who's only had an adult human body for a small portion of their existence, it's really all about the pleasure thing. Short version - 90% straight, with occasional exceptions.
Race: Human, as of relatively recently.
Special Arts: Maxwell claims that he was once a master of something called "The Seven Planar Swords", which is an alleged martial art revolving around seven different styles of armed combat. If his stories are to be believed, he was once capable of vanquishing armies of soldiers while fighting in space with this fighting style - with the majority of his power gone, though, his body cannot withstand the strain of such advanced sword play. As such, he is now little more than a formidable (yet far from expert) swordsman.
Character Looks: Apart from being abnormally tall (just under seven feet) Maxwell looks more or less like your average human. It's his mannerisms which really set him apart from the rest of mankind...but we can get into that shortly.
Allignment: Good at heart - would never do something inexplicably evil - but does enjoy engaging in various vices.
Personality: Due to his time as an emotionless automaton, Maxwell sees his existence in human form as ample opportunity to indulge in everything that makes a person a person. He often comes across as highly emotional, eccentric, and sometimes even crazed, or at least largely detatched from how normal people act. Ultimately, though, he's a whimsical soul who remains positive and upbeat the majority of the time. He's quick to make friends and allies, and is quite partial social situations wherein he can enjoy good food, good drink and good company. However, he hasn't forgotten a moment of his time as a Quarut, and ergo possesses a wellspring of wisdom and experience to offer those in need. Though fierce in combat, he's only a fraction of the great warrior he once was. As such, he will often hand over particularly intense and significant battles to those more suitable for the task, preferring to provide helpful insight to those involved.
History: In a distant plane of being, the Powers that Be possess a forge of deific might, which they use to create powerful constructs to govern over the laws of existence. Among the most elite of these mechanized soldiers are the Quaruts - beings who leap from one universe to another and apprehend those who pose a cosmic threat. Markus Maximus was one such Quarut, and for time immeasurable, it moved from dimension to dimension, handing out justice to those who would violate the order of all things. When it was assigned to eliminate a particularly powerful sorceror who had secluded himself in a distant - and somewhat primitive - it had no feelings on the mission itself, despite being aware of the risk this sorceror posed. Upon locating its target, however, it was met with a most remarkable surprise; before it could land even a single blow on the arcane master, a brilliant flash of light and power stopped it dead. When conciousness returned, Markus Maximus was no longer an it, but a he - his target had turned his metal and clockword body into flesh and bone, filling his mind with emotion and everything it meant to be human. After this drastic event, he changed his moniker to Maxwell di Marko - a mixture of spite against his former creators and homage to the sorceror who had awakened him, who carried the same surname. From there, he ventured out into the world, experiencing everything he could. He hasn't ever stayed in one place terribly long, but he also never got out of the dimension he was transformed within, so he does have small patches of connections dotted around the globe. And while he lost almost all of the tremendous powers he could once call upon at will, he knows that he would never undo what's become of him.
Any weapons/armor you have: Maxwell still carries the large paddle sword he wielded before his transformation, though it has seen little action since that day. Affectionately called 'Alice', the blade is composed of a rare ore known as Tok'l, which originates on the Plane of Madness known as Xoriat. It is remarkably durable, particularly against forms of energy such as fire or electricity. It can also absorb the energies released by Maxwell in his various Planar Forms, taking on a slightly different attribute with each form.
Any items you have: When he was transformed, the sorceror responsible showed Maxwell his first act of kindness by giving him an enchanted sheet of paper. This paper functions as a two-way communication system between Maxwell and the sorceror, allowing them to speak over distances that even transcend the present dimenson.
Any skills|abilities|mystical powers your character has: Planar Forms - While very little of Maxwell's potent energy was left when he was transformed, he does still have enough to alter his body's functionality in some unique ways. By tapping into that small energy source, he can stylize himself to a variety of situations reflecting his experience travelling through other planes of being. Apart from the skills mentioned, each form grants Maxwell a considerable insight into enemies who are using techniques of a similar nature. He can maintain these forms for a relatively short time before his body needs to rest, though, and then he must wait to recover before he can activate any of his forms again (basically, he has to cool down for as many posts as the form was active, to a maximum of ten): Fernia - From the Elemental Planes of Fire, Maxwell can call forth immense heat. This adaptation makes him more resillient to flames and other forms of heat-based attacks, even increasing the temperature of his own body, burning and searing those who come into contact with him. Risia - Drawn from the depths of various Water- and Ice-based Planes, this form grants Maxwell powers over harsh cold. Along with increasing his resistance to cold and cold-based attacks, his body drops to subzero temperatures, causing objects or people who touch him to sustain critical freezing damage. Syrania - In many Planes of being - such as those associated with the element of Air - gravity can be highly subjective, if it exists at all. In this form, Maxwell can become weightless for a short time (2-post maximum), allowing him to soar into the air. It also creates a strong surge of wind around him, which will rush and batter against those who get too close. Kythri - Some Planes have no set form, constantly roiling in geographic chaos as features spawn into being, only to be overrun by the new topography minutes later. By tapping into the energy of these worlds, Maxwell is granted similar shifting abilities, allowing him to transfer seamlessly from one spot to another nearby while an afterimage of himself is left behind.
Character Flaws: While infinitely wise and optimistic, Maxwell is no longer capable of the epic combat feats he could once execute. His skills are still impressive, and certainly above most human swordsmen, but he's hardly cut out to handle any battles of colossal proportions on his own. And even if he were, he no longer cares much for combat regardless, engaging in it only if he must or if he feels like doing so. In addition to this - and relating to whether or not he feels like doing something - Maxwell could also be called a slave to his whimsy. Should a situation seem to be leaving the borders of what he can handle, he'll typically abandon the pursuit altogether, allowing whoever's nearby and capable to 'volunteer' their services while he makes a getaway.
Friends in the Realm: None here.
Enemies in the Realm: Also none here, fortunately.
Lover: No one at the moment.
