Name: Liberty-Marie Reever

Nickname: -

Age: 19

Birthday: April 3rd

Sign: Aries

Gemstone:  Fire Agate

Blood Type: A positive

Fav. Food: Figs (especially the green ones)

Hated Food: Liberty doesn't really hate food. She might have some trouble with mushrooms or squash, but if it's food, why waste it?

School: Full Time at Destiny City University; major is currently Genetics

Hobbies:

Western Riding -- Liberty grew up in a ranch setting, and therefore grew up around animals. She volunteers at local stables part time in order to earn lessons and riding time. Her strongest field is, naturally, team penning & roping, though she also dabbles in barrel racing and cutting.

Guitar -- Let's add one more cliche to this, shall we? Liberty can, in fact, play guitar. She isn't going to win a talent contest, but she knows some good songs from home, and she enjoys playing in her downtime. Her accompanying singing voice is more better described as less than average.

Running -- Her mother didn't have a nice, thin figure, and Liberty-Marie knows those bloodlines will create her future. As a result, Liberty has taken up running, and she runs every day. Distances range between 3-9 miles, depending on how much time she has, and how she feels. If she stays over at your house, expect her to bring running shoes.

Intramural (or Rec Team) Sports -- Liberty's favorite intramural sport is soccer. She's an aggressive soccer player, and usually plays Forward. She will also willingly play basketball, tennis, lacrosse, softball, ultimate frisbee, etc. Heading to the park with a group of friends and meshing together a quick team is one of her favorite weekend pastimes.

Virtues:

Friendly -- This redhead is not at all shy, and in fact loves to meet and speak with new people. Everyone gets a first chance, and usually a second, and she makes a personal effort to never judge people on first appearance. Liberty is the kind of girl that will share her lunch with a stranger if they forgot theirs, or loan a friend money even if she knows they'll never pay her back.

Hardworking -- If you set Liberty to a task, she will go to the ends of the earth to get it done. She makes it a personal commitment to keep her word and complete tasks to her full potential. She's usually that girl in group projects who ends up taking home the bulk of the work. And Liberty works with pride. She doesn't complain, or waste time on the unfairness of it. Once she has something to do, she gets right to work on it. She has no trouble with organization, or prioritizing. Liberty has no time for procrastination.

Responsible -- If she breaks something that belongs to someone else, Liberty will likely insist on paying for it, buying you a new one, or making it up to you in some way. If she's upset someone, she will do her best to make them feel better. And, you can bet, she's prepared for a situation. She brings extra water on field trips for people who may have forgotten theirs, and she also has a first aid kit in her bag, just in case.

Flaws:

Forgive and for-- Eeeeeh, Maybe Not -- Liberty takes tallies, and those tallies gradually begin to add together. While she may be an outwardly forgiving person, she's inwardly taking note of all the times someone has messed up, all the times they've made her angry, or made her cry. These build, and build, and Liberty keeps them pent up. Then she snaps. The logical, smart Libby is pushed away, and an accusing, angry Libby comes to surface. She will yell at friends, at family, and it won't necessarily even be for a good reason. It just has to be the straw that breaks the camel's back. At enemies, Liberty may result to physical violence such as punches or kicks.

Once that anger has surfaced, Liberty needs time to cool off, or the events will simply escalate and repeat. This time varies depending on the severity of the outburst, and the underlying reasons for that outburst. It can range from four hours to weeks. When she's ready, she usually comes to the individual to address the problem.

I've Got This -- Confidence, brute force, and sheer willpower simply can't get Liberty-Marie through every situation. Unfortunately, when in the moment, Liberty is inclined to think that it can. As a result, she oftentimes takes on more than she can handle and it comes back to bite her.

During fights, this means she's inclined to rush in, alone, without assessing a situation, especially if she thinks someone else is in danger. It also means she probably thought it was a great idea to take 21 units this semester and now has no social life. It would be nice to say she learns, but Liberty often times repeats mistakes that are similar, especially if she somehow makes it through the first mistake.

Possessive -- Liberty does, in fact, share most of "her things". She'll give you her lunch, you can borrow her pencils, you can read her books, sit in her shower, etc. However, there are a few things in Liberty's life which no one else is allowed to touch, have, affect, or look at. Liberty is irrationally protective of things like her belt buckles, heirlooms, family, and her girlfriends. You can see the belt buckles, if Liberty is holding them. And goodness forbid if you look at her girlfriend, or her brother the wrong way. It doesn't matter who you are, or how long you've known her. She'll typically give one warning, and a very heavy stare. Then, she might get verbally aggressive with the individual. Physical aggression is rare (especially since people tend to get the message early), though it's not unfeasible that she will attempt to physically remove an individual from a problem source by grabbing their hands/wrists/or dragging them in the opposite direction.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Kind eyes; pale-lime, intense green

Hair: Strawberry blonde to orange-red. Her hair is fairly straight, with slight natural wave that gives it fullness. It is often put into a braid, which falls just between her shoulders.

Face: Liberty has an oval jaw, with a wide, expressive mouth. She has a tan, though her skin is dominated by freckles (which are not simply limited to her face). Ref

Clothes: Red plaid shirt
Tucked into standard dark jeans that fit tight around the a**
Strapped on with a belt and buckle (Design is CC)
And pulled over cowboy boots

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Green Eyes

Contact Necessary – When this power is engaged, contact with Pandora’s skin produces the feeling of boiling blood. Prolongued contact may cause the sensation of intense burning. Clothing provides minor protection, and the effects may be delayed by a second or two. Visual effects include brightened green eyes, and a green aura in her palm and fingertips. Due to the magical properties, and the fact that they fester on an emotional level, prolonged contact received does not show physical effects on the skin.
Duration: 10 seconds; Number of Uses per Battle: 3

Super Sailor Scout Attack:  Green Eyed Monster
Boosted by feelings of Jealousy – Whether that jealousy is her own, or belongs to someone else. The feeling of boiling blood spreads faster and clothing no longer offers protection.
Duration: 15 seconds; Number of Uses per Battle: 3

Eternal Sailor Attack: Eat Your Heart Out
Area of Affect: The strength of this power is directly proportional to the amount of opponents within the effective area. Has an effective area of 25 feet in diameter. Opponents within the area become jealous and distrustful of one another, and may turn on one another. Singular individuals will become jealously focused on a dominant part of their life (relationships of a crush, a friendships success, etc.). This may make the opponent reckless or distracted while the power is active.
Duration: 45 seconds; Number of Uses per Battle: 1

Hi, Kael!

Running through your civilian part of this, I can't see anything wrong or out of place. You're flaws and virtues seem well tailored and work together, and I think her hobbies leave a lot of room for you to create scenarios for RP.

I think you have a really good grasp on her attacks, though I wanted minor clarification on her first attack—you say "When this power is engaged, contact with Pandora’s skin produces the feeling of boiling blood. Prolonged contact may cause burning. Clothing provides minor protection." I completely understand boiling blood being a side effect of jealousy/burning rage that comes with it, but when you say that 'contact may cause burning', what sort of burning do you mean? Any skin that comes in contact with her starts burning—like a very heated flush? [And when you say 'boiling blood', do you mean literally boiling blood or just the sensation of boiling blood? Just wanted to clarify! I know boiling blood is an expression, in which case the frustration/flush of heat 'boiling blood' would make a lot of sense here, but I just wanted to clarify your interpretation of it!]

Also I had a question about her eternal attack; when there is only one opponent present, you mention say that the attack would lower self-esteem and the effectiveness of defenses. This doesn't particularly reflect as relating to her sphere to me. I assume more often than not that she would be facing off against a single opponent at a time, so I would really like to see jealousy affect a single opponent. You say " the strength of this power is directly proportional to the amount of opponents within the effective area," but I think that jealousy could still affect even just one person. Instead of them having lowered self-esteem and defenses, maybe they could be consumed my feelings of jealousy, also? Towards anything or anyone—whatever is the biggest presence in their life? [And I also think that maybe a 25 foot radius might be a little big; a lot of other senshi I've seen have had their effective areas having a fifteen foot radius/thirty foot diameter or less; maybe you could condense her attack size to fifteen feet in every direction?]

And on a totally random side note and just out of curiosity, is there a specific reason Pandora has a western theme? I thought your description of it sounded pretty cute, but noticed that the reference link is down! (Just so you know!)

All in all, I think you have a really wonderful profile, so if you make any changes or want me to clarify something I've said, feel free to quote me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Hello, hello, and thank you for the lookover and critique!

The power says, "produces the feeling of boiling blood". I have changed it to "sensation"; does this make it more clear? The opponent's blood would not literally be boiling, they would just feel as though it were. As for burning, it would indeed be like very heated flesh. Things like blistering might occur. No one is being set on fire, or anything! I added (blistering, peeling of the skin) to that section. I hope that helps clarify.

For the second power: "Effective Area of 25 feet" was meant to be diameter originally. I added "in diameter" at the end so that there is no further confusion. And for the feelings of jealousy: I prefer to have the attack be more catered towards a group, because she has a single-opponent based attack that is already very dominant. I am unsure of if you want me to change the power from affecting a group to solely a singular individual, or simply change how it affects a singular individual. I have changed the power to reflect the latter. I originally avoided this because I wasn't sure how to have jealousy affect a singular person because I was not sure what to make them jealous of. Let me know if this new rendition is good or if I should make further changes.

Fixed the reference link! Derp. Two reasons for selecting the theme: The first is shallow: the character herself is very western-driven, and I wanted to keep that style and personality. The second is that themes and tales of the Wild West are often told from perspectives involving intense jealousy, envy, or greed. I originally searched for Western names, but well-sounding ones are not surprisingly absent from most named celestial bodies.

I hope that everything is now fixed, and that I was able to clarify anything that you were uncertain on. Thank you, again, for taking a look at the profile!

All right! Thank you for your clarifications! The absolute only thing that I have left to mull over is burning of the flesh. Even if it's just blistering/peeling of the skin, I know that a lot of times people are encouraged not to have any magic that has the potential to leave damage after the battle [Though I do note that you also stated that due to their registering on an emotional level they wouldn't scar].

I'm just not totally a hundred percent sure how that ties in with jealousy and don't want you to wind up with an attack that isn't doing enough for you, so I don't want to tell you to nix the idea of burning, though I was originally thinking it was akin to 'burning up with rage or envy', which made sense to me: if you've got boiling skin, you could absolutely take heated flesh as a side effect from prolonged contact with her. I think that the sensation of heated flesh all over could even be more useful in a battle than blistering a small portion, since that state of being hot/bothered/massively uncomfortable could lead to rash decisions and serve as a distraction.

I feel like jealousy could definitely cause the sensation of boiling blood and hot skin, though actually physically burning/blistering them makes me hesitant to give you a trial stamp (but other than that, there's nothing I can nit-pick on! Her second power looks fantastic to me! And her reference picture looks gorgeous!)

Since the biggest part of the issue seems to be the physical "boiling" effects of the skin, I simply changed it to read sensation. No scarring, no legitimate physical effects; it's all in the opponent's head.

I am unfortunately not sure if you 100% want me to change the power, because the way your post is worded sounds like you would like an explanation, but also would like a change. I am confused with the direction you're pushing me. If you would like me to change the power completely because it really doesn't jive with what you are accepting here at Moonshop, that's fine; i can absolutely do that. I will take some time and re-work it and re-submit her later.

If you're really just looking for an explanation, here's the run-down from which I pulled the power: Jealousy can produce a "boiling blood" feeling, so I thought "what if opponents took this concept so seriously, they began to feel it literally". The act of Pandora touching an opponent would therefore instigate these feelings at the location on which they were being touched. Since the touch is a focused point, the feelings would be intensified. A prolonged period of contact would make it feel as though their skin was reacting to the pounding, intense "flush" underneath their own skin (or "boiling skin") experienced during jealousy. Liberty is the "source" of jealous feeling, and this isn't an AoE power, so immediately spreading to the head or rest of the body seemed illogical to me. In addition, if I change the power to what you have stated, it becomes identical to the current AoE's power for a single individual which is a waste of use of powers. As for usefulness, I disagree, but I believe that's a matter of opinion: Here's why I disagree. The feeling of boiling blood at a source is pretty alarming as it is. Having it prolonged, and become more intense at a point source of "jealousy" (Pandora embodying jealousy itself) means focus of alarm becomes directed toward's Pandora herself. If someone tried to grab her, my guess is they'd decide it was a bad idea pretty quickly. If, however, they experienced "normal" feelings of jealousy, most are liable to channel anger and that, to me, tends to turn into increased violence and increased agression towards someone. While this is interesting, it was not the type of reaction I was working towards with this power and again seems identical to the last power.

I apologize for not being clear! What you have done eliminates all of the issues I had with the attack!

You clearly put a lot of thought into the attack and I wasn't reading it in the same way that you had written it! I wanted to suggest an alternate attack in case the literally boiling skin didn't fly, however you have done an excellent job of convincing me how it all ties in with jealousy and making it work. Thank you so much for clarification!
