 The sun was rising, glinting off the waters top with the promise of a beautiful day. Thread wasn't all that happy with the sun in his eyes, waking him up. It wasn't that he went to bed late...No the sky had barely been dark when he curled up. It was the sand in his fur. Why he headed towards the beach was beyond him.
His stomach rumbling, the black and red fox stretched and looked about the beach. "Where am I to get something to eat here?"

 Firelight was walking along the cliff's face on its jagged rocks that jutted out from it. The rocks looked over the ocean giving it a nice view. What was he doing in such a dangerous place? That was simple to answer he was checking the tide and seeing if there would be any crabs to eat when the tide went down.
Figuring that it would make a could meal he climbed back up the cliff and headed down to the beach. He was completely at ease and knew the area pretty well since this was where he was born. It made him feel relaxed being here.

He stepped along the water edge, which was just barely a step away from his sleeping spot. Thread jumped back as the water was a bit cooler than he expected. He shook his fur out, trying to get as much out before moving around more.
His stomach rumbled as the fox made his way a little deeper into the water. He wasn't use to the ocean and didn't know what to expect. He did know that most water held fish and that was better than nothing right now. He took another step, "OUCH!!!!!!!!" He lifted his paw and found a red thing connected to his toes.

As Firelight was making his way down to his normal fishing spot on the beach he heard someone let out a loud yelp. He paused as it took his brain a second to realize that it was another foxes yelp. This caused him to take off in the direction of the yelp. His main worry that it was a kit that had just hatched and wandered into the ocean. He remembered that his mother found him on the beach and that's where he hatched and that he had to be taught how to swim.
When he made it to the beach he was huffing and puffing as he slid to a stop. The sight that he had found was not one he had been expecting. Instead of finding a kit in some form of danger he found a red fox with a grab stuck on his paw. "Hold on I'll help you," He called out to the fox before coming up and biting into the body of the crab killing it almost instantly. He than used his paw and jaws to pull the claw of the crab apart. Once he got the other foxes paw out of the pinches he tossed it up on the beach in the direction he came from. "There you go. That should feel better here shortly."

Thread was hopping around on three legs, when a blueish male came running up. He watched the other kill whatever it was on his paw like a pro. "Thank you, but I would of done it myself." His tone was none to happy, even though the other could of just ignored his yell of pain. To be saved by another was humiliating for the red fox and he didn't know how to cope with it.

Firelight smiled as he set the dead crab down and put his paw on it. Though his smile kind of fell away when the other fox spoke. He obviously wasn't happy with Fire's actions. "Your welcome and sorry. I thought you might want it off before it broke your toe. You see this little crab's pincher are strong enough to crush them. Though he might have ran away normally but I think he thought you were another crab and attacked. They like to fight you know?"

"It could of broken my toe?" His tone changed a bit. He really didn't mean to offend the other fox, but he would say stuff in the wrong way or take things wrong, which always ended up in bad situations. "Thank you again. This is my first time out here and I don't know the creatures around." Thread was looking to put sincerity in his voice.

"Yes it could have. For such small creatures they are strong," Firelight mumbled pointing out the point that the crab was a strong little creature. He watched the other fox unsure of what to do. Though he slowly made his way past him toward the waters egg where his breakfast laid waiting for him somewhere under the salty waves. He took a deep breath and looked back at him "Your welcome. I can tell this is your first time here since this is where I mainly live though since it is a new area to you, you should be more cautious. There aren't a lot of creatures here but the ones that are can be pretty harmful."

He watched the other fox and started to feel a bit stupid. There was no reason for him to snap at any kind of help, especially when he was some place he didn't know. "So...Do you eat them? I was looking to have something to eat." With red ears down, Thread was trying to make up for his first response.

Firelight looked over the other foxes body. His body language said that he was sorry and Fire felt that it was the truth. He did know foxes that were quick tempered and didn't mean to snap when they did. "Yes they are eatable which was why I came down here. Though you need a couple to really fill yourself up. One wont do anything but tide the hunger over for a tiny bit."

A look at the dead crab made his stomach announce that he was hungry, still. "What do you normally eat around here? It looks like it could have a lot of good stuff inside it." The more talk of food just made Thread hungrier than a bird with babies to feed.

Firelight shrugged "Well yea there are lots of different things depending on what you can get your paws on. From the water there is the crab of course, fish, certain eels, starfish, clams, oysters, octopus. Of course there are birds around here so you could eat them and their eggs and there is bugs and plants that can be eaten. You just have to find them." He said while pointing out some of the different areas where each item could be found.

He looked to where the purple and blue fox pointed. Food was his number one thing right now, but maybe this fox would help him. Thread knew that having help usually was a good thing when it came to foraging for food. "Would you mind helping me get some food, umm... What is your name?" He felt a bit foolish having to ask like this, but there was really no other way.

Firelight gave a shrug as if to say he didn't mind. Which he didn't. He liked helping from time to time unless it had to do with Noaki than he would help all the time. "Yeah I can. Are we going to share or am I just helping you than off to find my own food? The name is Firelight but some just call me Fire. What about you?" he asked.

How could he think Thread wouldn't help?! Growling, "I will help you bring enough for you and whoever else you might be bringing food for." Biting off his growl, knowing that it was rude. "Thank you, Firelight. I am Thread."
