We all know the sayings like that - I thought it'd be cool to see how many we could come up with (about anyone theatre-related...techies, dancers, singers, etc)
Thespians do it onstage
Thespians do it eight times a week
Techies do it in the dark
What else?

Thespians do it for hours, only breaking once for 15 min.
Thespians do it with loads of people watching.

Stage managers do it over headsets.
Techies do it in the booth.
Techies do it in the shop.
Thesbians do it while singing and dancing.

We were supposed to get T-Shirts saying "LHS Thespians" on the front and "We do it onstage... wanna watch?" on the back (but my director didn't find it "appropriate")

Our techie shirts last year were going to say 'we do it backstage.' But we never got around to it. Next year though...
How about: Thespians take notes.
Not really funny, I guess, unless you've seen one of TMS' scripts. We're all so a**l about script marking.

Bloody Red Roses OOOHH! I got a new one! Directors tell thesbians how to do it. Haa! That's perfect! I love it.
How about... thespians couldn't do it without the techies helping
I know it's not the best, but hey.

Directors yell at thespians when they dont do it right!
(I just got done doing a student directed production and the director had problems getting as much respect as our normal director.)

Casting Directors choose the thespians that will do it.
MEs make sure people can see thespians doing it.
Thespians do it playfully. (haha)

Not directly realted, but I just finished a play (tear tear) and there was a scene where me and another girl had to come onstage laughing, so we told jokes right before we were to go on backstage. When is was my turn I said,
"Guess what thespians do."
"What?"
"Thespians do it onstage in costume... together."
That performance was our best ever of that scene.

Here's one that was on our T-shirt for our theatre group:
"They say it's a kind of cult. They stay up at all hours of the night, the men wear makeup, and there's always something burning.
And who is this man they worship??
That would be the long-haired guy with the earring."
Ironically enough, our technical director had long hair and pierced ears.

Techies do it on cue.
On that note, we had a theatre department shirt that said thespians do it on stage and the administration told us it was "inappropriate" but my theatre teacher said that they probably just didn't know what a thespian was XD Since people always seem to think LESBIAN. AHH.

Directors do it before the show
Stage Managers do it whispering!
