 Faint snores woke Cali from her pleasant nap. Frowning she popped her head from her current nesting place of tangled limbs to look around at her surroundings. She blinked her orange eyes to get rid of the sleepy fog of her mind before standing and stretched with a squeaky groan. She watched her parents for a long moment before toddling off to peek outside their home. Once she was farther away, but not too far incase of danger, she broke out in song, " Oh misser sun, sun misser golden sun please downeded on me-"
"Chirp, chirp." Pausing in her song Calida looked to left to spot the most beautiful creature she had ever seen. Slowly making her way towards the bug she didn't notice the other creature near her until it was too late. The small thing landed on her head causing her to scream in fright.

 Though she was minding her own business at the time, Tala was quick to hurry to the rescue of a sibling! Well, to be honest, there wasn't much she could do if her sister was being attacked, since it's not like Tala herself was a grown up, and, as such, really capable of things like rescuing. But the fact that she wasn't a grown up also allowed her to totally disregard this fact.
"Cali! What happened?" She called out as she hurried towards the other cub, trying to get a better look at what was going on. What was that on her head?

Glad to hear her sisters voice she turned her head slowly while whimpering. A comical sight to be hold as a frog-like lizard dangled from her nose, Cali was clearly unhappy. "Ewwie, I want it off! Off!!" Moments before, the lizard had fallen down from its perch from a tree branch above. Looking her sister imploringly she hoped that she would do something. "Lala... help me." She had seen her sister play with reptiles before so she knew Tala didn't mind them as much as she did. Calida froze as the creature moved closer to her eyes the only thing on her body that moved was her eyes to look cross-eyed at the creature. "umphmuap." She whimpered.

For a few moments, all the cub could do was gape at her sister. How had Cali gotten herself in such a situation? "Uuuh..." She tilted her head and made a face. Alright. She hadn't expected something like this to have happened. Tala had imagined something more serious than a little lizard.
"Oh! Okay, hang on." The red cub scurried over, then sat on her haunches before her sister, so her front paws could be free. Gently, she raised one paw to support the lizard's body, then placed another paw on top of it. "Come on, little guy. You can let go..." She pulled gently, and at first it didn't relent. Then suddenly it did!
Tala eyed the little creature between her paws for a few moments, then let it loose on the floor. "You okay?" She glanced at Cali, trying to see if there was any damage on her nose.

Calida watched as her sister bravely took on the monster on that was hanging off her nose and how quickly Tala took it away from where they had been standing. " Tanks bunches Lala." She showed her graditute by nuzzling her sister lovingly and ignoring the little sting on her nose. "'am now. What do we do now?" Calida's playful attitude was back full force now that her ordel was over with.
"'wim? 'lect rocks? 'limb?" (swim, collect rocks,climb) She paused to let her younger, by a few minutes, sister decide on what they should do next. "Or play with other cubs? Hmmm." She bit her lip trying to come up with something that would be fun.

Oh, that was good! Tala was glad her sister was okay, because it would be most unpleasant if she wasn't. A cub hardly liked knowing their family isn't okay! Unless, of course, their family was particularly stupid and mean, then they deserved a little chomp on their tail. But Cali didn't deserve such a thing right now.
"Climb!" Tala said happily, because she didn't quite find the idea of swimming too good, because there could be bad things in the water. And they had collected rocks yesterday!

Cali wiggled her butt in excitement. " Oooh! 'limbing it is!" She pushed out her little claws happily and nuzzled her sister lovingly. " I get to use my claws! Let's go!" Cali used her left paw and pointed forward before walking in the opposite direction of the trees. "I can't wait this is goin' be so much fun! An-and then we can see 'bout findin' some food 'cause I could eat a whole 'lope by myself!"

Tala laughed at her sisters antics, and returned the nuzzle happily. She quite liked climbing, too, and was pretty happy to use her claws! Make them nice and sharp, so they could... be nice and sharp. Somehow that seemed like a good thing.
Being a rather clever cub, Tala quickly noticed her sister was going the wrong way, and hurried over to her side, pushing her gently with a shoulder to turn her around. "Cali! You're going the wrong way!"

Cali froze and turned her head to blink at her sister in surprise. "Oh, 'knew that!" She let out a girl before skipping along side her sister so they could walk side by side. " So you got any 'deas where we can 'limb? Or is dis an 'venture?" Cali was good with either one, though the adventure part sounded funnier. She bumped into her sisters shoulders lightly every now and then...cause that's what sisters did sometimes. They annoyed one another just for the pure reaction of it.
"Wonder what mama and papa and the other brood are doin'." She walked her sister out of the corner of her eye to see how she was doing. "I'm going to 'limb the tallest tree ever!"

Tala didn't quite understand the idea of 'where' they could climb, because of course they were going to climb trees! And they were already headed for a few trees; three of them up ahead, with a few metres keeping them apart.
At the bumping, a competitive part of Tala's mind caused her to bump back each time, so as to not be bested. Being bested was just not cool! "Adventure? It can be an adventure. Maybe we can fetch something up in the tree."

"'sound cool. 'wonder what kinda fruit we will find up in the trees." Cali licked her lips at the thought. She did love meat but the juicyness of fruit sometimes was tempting. Looking up ahead Cali sighed with relief, "Almost there yippe!" A burst of energy came from within and she started to run towards the trees with delight. She was close enough to pounce on the bark, so she did. Tiny claws popped out and she found herself clinging in one spot for a few minutes before turning her head to see if her sister had followed. She had. " Last one up is a rotten 'lope hide!"

"Hey!" She hadn't been planning for a sudden competition! Tala growled playfully, picking up speed and pouncing at the tree moments after her sister. Try as she might, she couldn't get up faster, and managed to pull herself up onto a branch a bit later than her sister.
"There isn't any fruit." Tala observed with a frown, looking at the branches that extended out. It was an acacia tree, and they did sometimes have fruit, but is didn't seem the case now! Besides, even if it did... the branches got pretty thorny the further you went out on them.

Somewhat out of breath and full of smiles Cali looked at her sister. "That was fun! Uh-" She blinked and looked around with the same expression as her sister. "Awwwh, all that for no fruit? We gots jipped." Letting out a sigh Cali looked down before deciding it was safe enough to jump down. " I guess we can twy another time wight?" She looked at the sky and saw that the sun was half way among the clouds. Wow they had spent more time walking around then she had thought. " Maybe if we is lucky we will find sumfin' on the way home."
Calida waited for her sister to climb down before giving her a sleepy nuzzle and headed homeward. Usually she took a nap around this time, it was her bodies way to compensate for all the energy she burned throughout the day.
