Bazzite was nothing if not friendly.
He was trotting along his now-usual energy draining patrol route (which weaved erratically through the city in no real discernible pattern, so why he called it a route or usual was beyond most people) listening for spacepiratry to put a stop to. Nothing was showing up on the radar (not that he used it much) and he was quickly becoming bored. Nobody was out on this edge of town at this late at night, so energy draining simply wasn't happening. Sputtering to a stop, Bazzite leaned against a lone streetlamp and audibly sighed.
"Maaaaaan nothing's out here so I can't get any energy to Beni and..." Suddenly, a dark spark of someone on his side of the fence caught his attention. He jerked into an upright position and his eyes turned to glittering saucers, searching for the one that was a ninja, like him! Whoever they were, they were his level too. Dashing off, he ran towards the small park on the other side of the street where he could see benches and hear a fountain. With a cry of HADOOOOUKEN!, Bazzite launched himself into the bushes...
...and was promptly stuck. His hooded head stuck out of the bushes and he spat leaves out of his mouth. "Hello over there! Or here, really, since I'm a lot closer than I was."

Mesolite had had a fairly productive night. She had managed to drain the energy of a large group of people exiting the movie theaters and was sure that Painite would be pleased with this intake. She was thinking about heading home and leaving it at the fact she had gotten the energy before something came around and messed her up, when she heard it. Something that was quite sure to mess her up.
A boy cried some sort of…ninja language, then a head came out of the bush closest to her. Grey eyes narrowed in surprise and then widened for a moment. “Well well. What have we here?” Her hand rested on her hip, and the Lieutenant looked rather boredly at this newcomer.
“Yes, Hello. Why are you in a bush, pray tell?” Is that what was going to be expected of her now? Diving in bushes and making a fool of herself? No. She would not allow such a thing. She was the star, the lead role in this, and she would conduct herself as such. “Do you eat leaves often?”

(*did not see the tag until now, sorry!*)
"Do I eat leaves often? Nawwwww." Spitting out what was left of the bush, Bazzite untangled himself and stood upright, brushing dust off of his hoodie. He gave his fellow lieutenant a silly grin. "I just got really excited when I felt somebody else over here and I wanted to say hi! So HI!" He waved enthusiastically to her despite the fact that they were a mere five feet apart. Bazzite was ridiculous like that. Fixing his hoodie, he rifled through his pockets and pulled out one of his paper shuriken and twirled it in his hand.
He would have guessed that she was new, being that he'd never met her before, but there were a great many Negaverse agents he didn't get the chance to meet. "I'm Bazzite! You can call me Bazzi. Lotsa people call me Bazzi. So what's your name? Didja get an awesome weapon?" Looking down at her outfit, he gasped in amazement. "Well you got nice boots! The Negaverse sure knows how to kit out its peeps, am I right?"
His good cheer didn't seem to be rubbing off on her, but that hardly ever stopped him. Bazzite was successful in making Benitoite smile on occasion though! So something must eventually get through!

She continued to stare at him, then nodded slowly. “Yes…hello there, um. Bazzi. I’m Mesolite…but you can call me…well. Mesolite.” She glanced over his uniform, and was very, very pleased that hers was at least fifteen times cooler than his was. “My weapon? Oh.” She concentrated for a moment, then withdrew her paperclip chain from the subspace where it had been. “I got these. At least they’re pretty, so, that’s a plus. And yes. My boots are fantastic, they’re my favorite part of my entire outfit. That and the green. It’s such a nice green color, don’t you think?”
She supposed this boy wasn’t so bad. After all, he was part of the negaverse as well, and she should respect that and not…completely question if he was an idiot or not. The negaverse wouldn’t let in idiots. Right.
“Well, how long have you been doing this whole negaverse thing, do you like it?”

Bazzite nodded with much enthusiasm. "Green's a great color, especially your green." His smile widened and he pointed to his own outfit. "I've got a little bit'a copper but it's not as nice as your green, I think. Oh, and I got these!" Digging into his jacket pocket, the lieutenant pulled out a handful of folded paper shuriken. "I make these at home, in my spare time. Then when I power up, I have more of them! Great for flicking at people but not much else. I've seen some'a the captain and the generals and their weapons are awesome! My general has a spear and my captain has this big ol' paintbrush!"
To emphasize, Bazzite stretched out his arms to their fullest extent. This brush was huge, though Bazzi had no idea what anyone could do with a giant paintbrush aside from paint giant pictures.
"I love being in the Negaverse! It's like being one big family where everyone watches out for you. They have me run errands because I'm fast on my feet. I'm good at it, but I'm working on being stealthy... sometimes I get too excited." he admitted, pushing the grass around with one foot. Clearly he got too excited, like, all the time. "But I'm getting better! Do you have a captain, Mesolite?"

She laughed softly nodding as he mentioned how great her green was. Well, he had the sense to say that. Maybe she was warming up to him, at least a little bit. “I’m rather excited to see what my paperclips will decide to turn into. Do you know if we get any say in it…or is it just random chance…like, if I told a General or something that I wanted my paperclips to change into a…I don’t know. A tuba or something…do they have the power to do that? Or really, is it just a game of luck?” Mesolite listened as the eccentric boy described a giant paint brush and nodded to herself as he continued on to describe how the Negaverse was to him. “Well, I’m sure you can be stealthy if you just…you know. Try harder not to scream and jump out of the bushes at people. I think that would be a very good first step, to be perfectly honest.”
A captain? Was she supposed to have a captain? The new lieutenant shook her head, seeming just slightly nervous. “Um, nobody mentioned giving me a captain…is that a requirement? Painite didn’t really mention anything about it, I don’t think…”

The Negaverse lieutenant in blue had to think about it for a bit. Did they have any say in what their weapons turned into? "Uh... you know, I never really thought about it." he said, cocking his head and giving her a dumb grin. "Cuz it's like... super cool to have a weapon at all! I mean... Hmm." Did he know of any other generals? "OH YEAH, Zink, he's got bombs or something but othrrthnthat, I dunno. That's all I got. I just know our weapons get more badass as we go!"
There, knowledge imparted. Bazzite felt very proud of himself.
The whole having-to-have-a-captain thing was something he didn't quite understand. But first thing's first - the bushes. "Well see you're a Nega and I'm a Nega and I could feel you from a little ways away and... well, I got excited." The blue haired boy shrugged at her sheepishly. "I like meetin' new people. But the captain thing? For me I think it kinda just happened. Some people work better by themselves! You know? But Painite would know more about it than I would, yep!"

Mesolite nodded curtly. “Yes, I suppose it is rather nice to have weapons, even if they are next to useless right now, I mean, if it rained on you, yours would be a sopping mess, wouldn’t they?”
She gave a small grin, then nodded, somewhat relieved that she wasn’t required to have a captain, and she hadn’t just missed some memo about it, or that she hadn’t missed an order about it. The last thing she wanted to do was break rules so early on in her career. No no no, if rule breaking was to be done, it would have to be after a person really knew the rules, and thus knew how to break them in such a way that they wouldn’t get caught, or wouldn’t have any penalty.
“I am very glad to have met you, you seem like you’re quite knowledgeable, and it’s been nice to at least bounce some ideas off of you. Perhaps we could meet again sometime, Bazzite. Go out and do whatever we’re supposed to do, you know. Safety in numbers, and all that.”
It didn’t hurt that his flighty attitude was amusing and made her want to fight a little harder for their cause. No, he seemed like he could become a very good friend if given the chance. But patience would be required for such a thing.

"Yeah, I could take you out to burgers! I know this great place down 10th street. They make the best cheeseburgers this side of... well, stuff. This side of stuff. They're pretty amazing!" Bazzite did a small pose in the likeness of Bayside Burger's Billy, the local mascot and hero of the chain. The lieutenant then processed what his female fellow had said about rain and frowned. Maybe he needed to invest in a waterproof Negaverse jacket instead of... whatever he was wearing. What was it made out of? Oh well. A quick salute and a smile. "Well it was super nice to meet you, Mesolite. I hope you get really good and become a captain! We could hang out all the time. You be the brains n' I'll be the speed! Beni says I'm good at that so I'll stick to it. It's fun running around at full blast. You can catch people off guard that way and Painite says that's real useful. But if you catch a ride down tot he Rift with a captain or whatever, you can meet lotsa powerful people. Captains can teleport! I can't wait to learn to do that!" It was getting late and it looked like Mesolite might need to go soon. Curfews and civilian life and all that! Bazzi still had to get to bed and try to sleep after a night of surfing through Destiny City's shrubbery.

She listened to him talking and her eyes widened when he mentioned teleporting. They could do that? Well. That was something she couldn’t remember hearing before. Well, she wanted to become a captain even more now. That was something she would have to really work towards, and not just for teleporting. She wanted the self satisfaction too.
“Well, keep in touch, okay, Bazzite? I’ll be sure to keep a look out for you too. I’d like to check out that burger place. I should be heading out though.” She gave a smile, deciding now that she did indeed like this other lieutenant, and she was very glad indeed that they had run into one another. Well, first impressions weren’t everything, if they had, Bazzite would completely be at a zero. People just shouldn’t jump out of bushes!
Mesolite smiled then gave a little wave before walking off. He had given her some to think about. Maybe she should start writing a game plan on how to become a captain more quickly. Maybe she would find someone to take her to the…what had he said? The Rift. Yeah. She would find a way to go there and start asking questions on how to become a captain. New goals were fun.
