RESIDENT | EVIL
So, with Operation Raccoon City coming out in March, Resident Evil 6 coming out in November, and the fifth movie coming out in September, I thought I'd give us a place to discuss the franchise. This is the video game subforum, of course, so I'll keep it to the games. ;] The movies, however, do tie in with the games, so they could be a reasonable side topic.
So... Excited?!
For the record, I have been [creepily] obsessed with Resident Evil since 1998 when I first watched my brother playing as Claire Redfield in RE2. I can actually remember the very first moment I ever saw. It's been over a decade, and I have stored a vast amount of info in my skull.
That said, don't worry, I know there are A LOT of downfalls to the game.

Best "worst" line? [i.e. "I hope it's not Chris's blood." lol,barry.]Let Me Live I'm so excited for RE6, but my favorite parts were:
1. Chris literally SHOVING aside panicked citizens. Wow, Chris, you're there to protect them. And he punched a boulder in half in the last game, so I can only guess how much damage those poor people are getting!
2. Leon telling the zombified president to stop and not come any closer. Really, Leon, really?! It's been ten years, and he does it in every game. They're zombies [slash infected, controlled townsfolk]. He's not going to be like, "Oh, sorry, my bad, Leon. Of course I won't eat you since you asked nicely!"

Of every book I've read, movie or TV series I've watched, video game I've played (and there have been so many), Claire is my favorite character in the world.
I'm dying for them to do a co-op game with her and Chris. The Redfield siblings! How awesome would that be?
Rebecca definitely grew on me, especially since they finally gave her some character development in Zero. Leon... I really loved Leon in RE2, back when he was the skinny wimp who whined all the time. Then they did his makeover for RE4 to cater to fans (which obviously worked; he's so popular now!), and I actually miss old Leon.
He has my favorite cheesy line though. See this YouTube clip.
I bet you're super excited that he's in the movies? (Despite the fact that they technically killed him off in the second one and shot themselves in the foot by putting it in a newspaper article in the BACKGROUND that he was Jill's dead partner.) I really wish they'd used Jensen Ackles, but the guy they're using really looks like (new) Leon, eh?

Claire is a bad a** I'll give her that. I've liked Leon through and through he's always been somewhat of a bad a** guy but I mean you can tell they beefed him up a bit for RE4. I am not so excited about the movie, I don't really like what they've done with the movies, despite this I will still watch it.

AHAHA you're so right about chris being mega strong, i mean his arms took up like 90% of the screen while i was playing sweatdrop AH HA, jk but rofl for resident evil 6 and operation raccoon city i'm really excited to find out who these new characters are
my favorite character was wesker but um... crying yeah the ending to resident evil 5 pretty much made me cry
i think my least favorite would be ada cuz she's a tricky ho and i never know if i can trust her mad
as for the movies i hated them after 1 but just because i like to give resident evil my money i'm probably going to end up watching it in theaters crying

But at least Leon's outfit looks legit. (So far they've really sucked at that, except for Jill's outfits in both the second and fourth.) And the actor's pretty easy on the eyes?

And I'm willing to pet my soul that Wesker's still alive. I mean, how many times has he "died" before? (Okay, well, once, but he still came back from being skewered by the Tyrant.)
Hate Ada. I'm so excited for Heroes Multiplayer in Op Raccoon City. As twisted as it sounds, I'm excited to kill Ada as Claire. (Ooh, and as Leon.)
Same with your comments on the movies. The first one, before they started really messing with Resident Evil cannon, was pretty badass. I still go back for every movie hoping for the best.

So. ORC has been released! It got some pretty awful reviews, and I can see where they're coming from on a lot of it. However, I am still having a blast.
The way I see it, I just won't take it seriously. I mean, it's a nice side game to have a little fun with! Plus, it hearkens back to RE2 [my all time favorite] and RE3 times.
Anyone else play it yet? Or Revelations?

WESKER HAS A SON?! Sherrie finally returns?! ...Chris has a cute new lieutenant guy?
Okay, so, do all these bombshells make the game sound better or worse to you? I'm super excited. But I'm super excited about ANYTHING to do with Resident Evil.
