They should put an elevator in here. Or at least, like... a slide. Actually yeah screw the elevator a slide would be awesome. With how far he was having to walk you'd be able to get some wicked speed and it would involve no walking.... though slides did have an unfortunate fact of being one way so maybe the elevator would be better. Either way he was not looking forward to walking back up all these stairs once he was done... bonding.
He was still of half a mind to turn around right there and tell them actually no thank you, I like being the only one in my mind. Cause you know, it was his mind. He didn't really care if it came with a magical awesome kick a** weapon it still sounded kind of intrusive, no matter how accepting they'd apparently be. He was barley willing to stop in a town for more than a few weeks and now he'd committed himself to a war and a life long companion.
....he really wondered what he'd been on when he said yes to this.
It was at that point that Michael finally made it to his destination, pausing with his foot on the last step as he looked around in confusion. It was... a room. A small dark room. He'd been expecting a massive cavern full of weapons or odd junk from the way that Candace lady had gone on. He was actually kind of disappointed with it's ordinariness after everything else. The only odd thing about the place was the walls.
Squinting slightly against the gloom and adding more torches or actual lights to his list of things this place needed he made his way over to the nearest wall, making a small surprised noise when he noticed it was actually bunches and bunches of carved tablets. The carvings themselves where glowing and appeared to be drawings of well... weapons. That explained it then.
Running his hand along a bunch of them and feeling a faint slightly off buzzing he wondered how he was supposed to tell which one to take. They'd said it was all deeply spiritual and personal which made him guess it wasn't just any tablet but... there so many. How was he supposed to find it among then.
Sighing in frustration he crossed the room to look at some of the tablets on the other side, somewhere faintly acknowledging it would be smarter to pace the room in a pattern instead of just randomly flitting about in a way that might cause him to miss it or something.
He frowned, hand hovering above one of the tablets as he thought he heard something.
<<Ninety-nine million and one.... on the wall... million bottles of beeeeeeeeeeer.... take one down... and Ninety-nine million bottles of beer on the wall!>>
He took a step closer to the wall as the voice kept fading in and out, hoping he wasn't actually just hearing things in his rush to get this over with.
<<Ninety-nine million of bottles of beer on the wall, Ninety-nine million bottles of beer. You take one down, smash it on the ground annnnnd->>
No, nope defiantly there. How did he...? Eh, try the usual way first, "Er, Hello?"
<<OH THANK JACK. I thought I was actually going to discover whether it is possible to die of boredom whilst I waited for you.>>
"....What number did you start that on?"
<<One Billion.>>
"Is that a million million, billion or a thousand million billion?"
The voice laughed at him. Michael may have pouted a bit in response.
"What! It's a perfectly valid question!"
<<Oh I like you. Come on, pick me up so we can get out of this place!>>
"Um," Michael paused looking at the tablets in front of him, "....which one is you?"
<<Next to your left ear- NO YOUR OTHER LEFT EAR. Yes that's better, go up two, yes you got it, that's me. Just pull me out.>>
Hand trembling faintly he took a deep fortifying breath and did just that. He blinked in surprise at the object that appeared in his hand.
"....A stick? Really?"
<<HEY. Electric Baton thank you very much. Pah. Stick.>>
"Sorry, sorry. It's just the other lady had sword shoes...."
<<Yeah well I bet her shoes can't shoot lightning.>>
"Wait, you can? That is so cool."
He got the faint impression of a smug grin.
"......Soooooooooooo. What do I call you then? Sparky?"
<<Call me that and you'll be seeing sparks. The names Nucha, you can call me Nuu.>>
"Nuu, huh? Nice to meet you then, I'm Michael... And as long as you don't start singing that song again I'm sure we'll get on fine."
Nucha's laughter echoed in his head as he started the long walk back up the stairs.
