[ OOC: This is a monthly raid RP limited to those who have already signed up. If you did not sign up for this raid, please don't post. But feel free to read along! ]
The elite cleared this throat. "Okay, so. Hey."
By some grace of Arceus everyone or most of them, by his glancing headcount - had gathered in a conference room on the ground floor, the equipment was working, and they were running on schedule. As Hayes leaned over the console in his unfamiliar Elite uniform and opened files from a flash drive under the combined gaze of people in plastic chairs, he was vaguely reminded of his thesis defense.
"We're going after this." The blond reached up to adjust glasses that weren't there today and jerked a thumb towards the screen as a page loaded in the projected browser window - a news story dated from the beginning of the week, headlined 'Blue Sky Plate centerpiece of new Eterna exhibit' in bold text. Indented into the text below was an image of a rounded porcelain rectangle balanced on a stand under a spotlight, vibrant blue and carved with some ancient design. Something sparkly - chips of mica, maybe - glittered across its surface. "It's a Plate - they these.." He gestured vaguely with one gloved hand, "..old artifacts that power up certain type moves and change a Pokemon's type, no one knows how. It'll probably go to the labs for research, but it's also pretty valuable just in terms of money." He stepped behind the console again and brought up a floor plan, labeled with titles like 'West Gallery' and 'Gift Shop.'
"They've got it displayed in the open," Hayes explained, "for people to see better. There's alternate security measures in place. They're keeping quiet about what they are - I haven't been able to find anything in their databases - but we've gone into museums before. If we're smart and coordinated about this we can be in and out pretty smoothly. Security's only as good as the people operating it and all." He glanced up for a second at the assembled team (half of whom he recognized,) wearing a faint trace of his usual mild smile.
"Questions?"

One agent sat in his chair, arms folded, slouching slightly, and head tilted downward. The agent was supposed to be Asch, but something was different about him. He was actually wearing a standard Agent uniform, which he didn't do unless it was necessary. His mood seemed to be off from the usual confident demeanor he exuded. No today he seemed a bit... gloomy. If anyone knew him, they'd know why. The agent was well known for his long tresses of red hair, but now they were cut very short. To the point that he might be unrecognizable at first glance.
Green eyes lifted as the elite agent asked if there were questions. Despite his downcast gaze, he had been listening and paying close attention. The agent was completely silent. Apparently not having any questions for the time being. It seemed simple enough. He had gone on missions similar to this before. He would just have to be extra careful this time since they didn't know exactly what to expect.

Grunt Shadow sat in one of the middle rows of the conference room seats, not wanting to draw attention to himself, but not wanting to completely isolate himself either. He listened, observed, and considered the mission in silence, guessing that the details of said mission and how their team would coordinate the theft would soon be disclosed.
In his coat pocket he kept his hands on the borrowed pokeballs as if for reassurance. He had to make sure to take good care of the pokemon within them while they were under his watch as his responsibility. The teen looked around at the other Rockets, attempting to memorize faces to familiarize himself with who he would be working with.

After the adventures of the last raid Aulus had decided to forsake his handsome buckled boots; for all they looked great they were heavy and weighed him down in situations when he needed to kick arse. As he had now personally designated himselg Hayes' bodyguard he needed to be able to fight well, and had got himself a pair of light supple calf boots at the first opportunity. Frankly felt like he was wearing nancy slippers. Oh well, hardly the time to be worried about that.
Aulus sat at the back of the room, studying Hayes as carefully as he did the screen. Hu. He was doing alright. He was sure his partner/suddenly superior was nervous but he was handling it pretty well. It was good to see that; a successful mission would really make Hayes feel secure in his post.
"I got a question," he said, raising his hand and grinning as he spoke, "When do we leave?" If they didn't know what the security measures were then he really didn't see that there was too much else to talk about, but then he was a hot-headed impulsive idiot male so what did he know other than how to hit things very hard with a big stick?

A dark skinned man, with even darker tattoos decorating half of his face sat within the group of assembled Rockets. He wore a full Grunt uniform, showing his rank, why else this might have been odd for this grunt, was that it got the man to actually put regulation shirt on. He didn't wear long sleeves if he could get away with it.
Half of his head shaved down, while the other half of his head had the shoulder length dreadlocks pulled back, to keep them out of his way when he moved. Right now though, He wasn't moving, The gangster was just sat here, his arms crossed, and listening to the blond guy with the glasses explain what this whole thing was about with his usual mellow, and chill demeanor.
Stealing something huh? from a museum, alright them. Not that Jerome's ever done that before, but, he knew from word on the streets that this was very much the kind of thing Team Rocket did.
When asked if they had questions, Jerome remained silent sitting in his chair, thought he did glance at the Rocket who did speak up.

Alba was off to a good start. Why? Because he didn't get hopelessly lost while trying to find the conference room, that's why! AND he was on time! AND Spook and Trick hadn't gotten out during the walk to start arguing again! Alba thought he was doing well to hide how nervous he was--this being his first major mission, after all--and so far, things seemed to be working in his favor.
He shook his head no when Hayes asked for questions, and held back a smile when Aulus spoke up. At least he could be assured that he knew one person on the team already.

Wow, he hadn't seen him in a while! Promoted now too, and not before time poor b*****d. While he didn't smile, Aulus did offer Alba a nod of acknowledgement; nice to know another face. He knew the tattooed eyes guy by sight too, and having heard of his prowess with parkour he kept meaning to get onto him about skill swapping. Maybe after this mission they'd have a reason to bond and get on with it. Who the red-haired and black-haired kids were he had no idea, but he imagined he'd find out before too long.

Grunt uniform, contacts in; Tambrey looked much the same as she usually did when it came to missions. She was sat and looked a little like she wanted to be taking notes at a lecture. She was leaned forward slightly in her seat, watching the elite's presentation with particular attention paid to the image of the Sky Plate- and looking pleased at the idea that it would be going to the labs. The mention of its monetary value got an eyebrow raise, but little else.
As the screen changed to show the floor plan, she looked like she wanted to lean even closer but that would have involved her falling out of her chair, and even if she was fixated on the presentation, she was alert enough to prevent herself from doing that. She looked from Hayes to the plans again as he talked about security and tried to imagine what 'alternate security measures' could mean, yet found her own ideas to be either far fetched or just plain unlikely, dismissing them mentally almost immediately.
Hm. Did she have a question? Well, Aulus's question might have been one she'd have chosen to ask, but the others she thought of were, like her theories on 'alternate security', dismissed within her head as she guessed at the answers to them mentally for now. Hers were not very important questions, really.
She'd taken a glance around the room, or two by now, and had been somewhat reassured by a couple of familiar faces; after the last two missions had ended in injury, it was nice to see people that she rather trusted.

Hayes stifled a grin. "Getting to that," he assured the scarred agent, and half-turned toward the screen. "So-"
"I have a question." A voice near the door chimed in. It belonged to Executive Agent Lore, who was leaning in the doorway wearing his typical smirk. He seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, as he tended to do. "Why'd you start the briefing without me?" He didn't sound angry. Quite the opposite, actually. He turned his eyes to the images Hayes had displayed for the group, looking in as good a mood as ever.
"I-" Hayes stopped, just on the cusp of a sentence and hand upraised, to look at the higher-ranked Rocket at the door. "..wasn't aware you were involved, sir," he answered, suffering a slight hitch in his speech while he mentally switched gears.
"Heck yeah I'm involved!" Lore announced happily as he stepped into the room. He was followed by his pair of Whimsicott. "Swiping the Sky Plate, yeah? This is my area of expertise. It'd be silly for me not to come." The scruffy Executive parked himself beside Hayes, where he leaned on the podium supporting the Elite's notes and flashed a good-natured smile at the group, "Sorry I'm late."
His pair of Whimsicott waddled in amongst the seated Rockets and each took an unoccupied chair. The pink-horned one had taken the seat beside Jerome and offered the large man a businesslike nod, "Whims."

Aulus scowled. Who was this scruffy git sauntering in thinking the could swipe things out from under Hayes' nose? Well, if something came flying towards that self-satisfiedly-whatever-causal-thingie nose then he certainly wasn't blocking it. He was not going to take on responsibility for more than one body today, especially a body muscling in on a body he rather liked....
Wait.
That had sounded gay even inside his head. Damn he was glad he hadn't said it aloud.

Asch blinked once and looked up wordlessly as Lore suddenly made his appearance. There was a momentary look of faint surprise as he watched the executive cross the room and stand next to this Hayes Elite guy.
However, he had met Lore once before, and his antics and casual demeanor were no longer surprising.

Xander sat next to Tambrey as he listed to the Elite talk about the mission they were about to take. He looked over the screen with an interested look on his face. "I have one." He said after Hayes asked about questions. "How heavy is it?" It would be easier to take if it was light enough but if it was heavy they might want to be prepared. At Lore's entrance though he shifted in his seat closer to Tambrey and farther from the Whimsicotts. As he did so he briefly looked around before pausing to blink at Asch. What happened to his hair?

Who-? Alba straightened in his chair as another superior came in, then eased just a tad again. Lore he recognized as well, had even gotten Hazel in random passing from the man, but that was about all Alba knew about him. Well, he did just learn that Lore wasn't the most prompt superior he'd ever had, so that was something.

The black-haired grunt sighed, feeling strange without his usual jeans, trench coat, and shirt. The grunt uniform was so...stuffy. Tight. Well, tighter than he was used to. It was beginning to bother him. He hoped he wouldn't have to do much running in those clothes.
It occurred to the young Rocket when he saw Tambrey that missions were not things to be taken lightly. They weren't just simple tasks that one could complete. They took teamwork and planning, involving risk and danger. He felt he probably should have been more nervous. Somehow, though, he wasn't. He trusted the higher-ups, and a good deal of the Rockets who had signed up were already mission veterans.
Shadow started to wonder what he was doing here. Other than the fact that he was sick of just being hall monitor day in and day out, he wanted to get out of the base. Was he really cut out for this sort of heist, though? He supposed only time would tell. He just hoped he wouldn't be the weak link when he came down to it, since he was pretty certain he was the youngest present.
Many of the other Rockets, particularly the agents, seemed like individuals to be wary of. Yet, strangely, Shadow didn't feel intimidated. Perhaps that was because their attention wasn't currently on him, but that would likey change in the near future. He had to be more confident and prepared. When the executive showed up, however, Shadow felt more confused than ever. The man didn't act his rank at all. Was everyone here so used to dangerous missions that this was a piece of cake for them...?

The Elite was interrupted by another voice, and as heads turned, Jerome being one of them, catching sight of a man by the door. Jerome had never seen this guy before, nor the uniform he was wearing, but from the way the Elite acted, Jerome could assume this was someone of higher rank.
Jerome was quietly watching the two men, and when the Executive said he was coming along too, well that was certainly interesting.
Then something fluffy moved at the corner of his eye, this caused him to glance to the side, finding a very poofy pink horned pokemon settling in the seat next to him, giving him a nod. An eyebrow arched over Jerome's brow as he stared back at this pokemon, but, with a nod of his own, more of a jerk of his chin, and a light "S'up" in return, Jerome looked back at the two leading Rockets.
