Plant dragons literally make small gardens when they nest. Burrying their clutches in the ground, the eggs hatch shortly after being laid. They still have a long way to go, however, with the hatchlings growing up through the ground. The mothers tend their young like true gardeners do, providing water, food, removing weeds, and defending their clutches from insects. After days of care, the baby dragons have gone through a metamorphasis into sproutlings, blooming under the rays of the bright noon-day sun. Once they shake the dirt from their root-like tails, the farewells are brief as the new dragons begin their lives.

Habitat: Anywhere with fertile soil; jungles, fields, flower gardens
Characteristics:
Behavior: One of the more solitary species, these plant dragons will usually only socialize during mating season, when local resources are plentiful enough to support them all. Other than that, the most time they spend together is when mothers are tending to their growing young. They do not tolerate the cold
at all, and unless they can find a suitable indoor climate, plant dragons will hibernate once the nights get cold enough to cause morning frost.
