It was a yearly festival, granted, not a big one, but the oriental halloweeners liked it and used it as a get together, sharing scare tactics and often going to the human world for some fun of their own. But for students it was a good time to hit the town, get some food, have some fun, maybe blow and hand or two of with some firecrackers. Red envelopes with silver seeds were secreted away in various spots, and wild minipets scurried underfoot. A few people had on costumes, and any dragon halloweener was given a free voucher to the fireworks booth for one rocket. A few cried foul, but overall, no one gave a s**t since it was easy enough to steal a few on their own. Booths with food lines the street, and a few shops had toys and gifts, all dragon themed. Druttens and leviathia kites flew in the sky, as well as red lanterns. Fake gold coins were in piles here and there, teasing and tormenting a few western styled dragons and many a demon. That wasn’t to say all the gold was fake however. It was the Lunar new year, and even the weres and other lunar based halloweeners were to have some fun. Moon cakes, blood pudding, lots of floresce sushi- It was a party. And all of Halloween was invited. OOC: This is a player run ORP for Chinese new years~ I’ll be having some games for minipets and silver~ If you want to donate any prizes of anything PM or IM me.

To say that Xiu was surprised would have been an understatement, but she was also extremely pleased to see the celebration that had been laid out for the Lunar New Year. She knew that it wasn't really one that everyone celebrated--it wasn't nearly as big as Christmastival or Scarentines seemed to be--but it was one of her personal favourites. Perhaps that was simply because she had grown up celebrating this particular holiday with her family.
The baku had debated inviting all her friends to attend the festivities with her, but in the end, she realized that that probably wouldn't be necessary. It was likely that they would all show up even without her inviting them, and even if they met up in a large group, they would probably end up breaking up into smaller ones anyways. In the end, she had settled for just inviting one of her friends--one of her newer friends, and one who she thought might have been familiar with celebrating the Lunar New Year. She had met up with him the other day to extend her invitation, and once that was accepted, designated a meeting time and place.
So, here she was, standing in front of a booth that was selling a variety of objects, from lanterns to firecrackers. Since it was (in her heart, at least) a special holiday, Xiu had dressed up for the occasion as well, donning a more traditional outfit--a black and red qipao--and pulling up her long hair into a bun.
Now, to wait for Yin. The baku had to do everything in her power not to bounce excitedly as her gaze swept over all the stalls. She was so excited to see what there was to do here!

"Oni" weren't traditionally chinese, but Michi loved any reason to celebrate. And get dressed up. Michi wasn't out to wear what was probably going to be worn by those really celebrating their backgrounds. Instead, she was going for an alternate version of it all. Now Michi didn't know where her new found friend Alex was dormed, other than somewhere in the undead dorms. So the smoke demoness had simply run through the halls of those dorms, and yelled out his name. And then yelled he had better show up. On every single hallway, so that everyone would know she was looking for him. It was just the easiest way to handle it all in her opinion. If he didn't know, then he'd probably get the message from someone else. She was standing by the edge of the festive looking decorations and stalls waiting for that cute zomboil. She rocked back and forth just ever so slightly, blue eyes peeled for a chance to take it all in. What was taking Alex so long???

For once, Alex was actually in his dorm when he heard yelling. Somebody yelling his name? What? And pounding footsteps that ran right past his doorway and kept on going. The voice was telling him he'd better go to the Lunar New Year festival. Curiously, he had pushed himself from his chair, and slowly stumbled through the trash littering his bedroom floor (why wasn't his trashbot cleaning this up?) towards his door. By the time he'd gotten their, however, the voice was already trailing away, too far for him to possibly catch up. But, there were tell-tale signs of smoke in the air, and he had to smile, before shutting his door and going back to his studies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And so now here he was, rolling up towards the festival on the skateboard his mother had sent him, hands dug into black pants pockets. He didn't look completely balanced, and tottered on the edge a few times, but he was getting better and better everyday that he practiced with it. While he wore all the same clothes he would have been wearing the last time he met with Michi, he had changed his tie to one that was red and gold to show his festival spirit. Slowly his gaze swept the area, until he spotted an all too familiar red demon surrounded by wisps of smoke. He changed course and rolled up to her, stepping off his skateboard with a stumble, and reaching down to pick it up, his tall frame folding in half to do so. He then looked her over with a smirk, "You know we have phones, right?" and then, reached down to pat her on the head as though to say 'there there'. When he stopped his smirk changed to a large grin, as he finally took in the outfit she was wearing. "Wow, you look..." his voice trailed off. He was speechless!

Roch was neither dragon, Asian or moon based. Well, he was sort of moon based, since, well, grim reapers and night go hand in hand, but-- well, let's be honest. Roch was crashin the party. He had his guitar slung over his back, and was making his way through the crowd to EVERY FOOD BOOTH they had.
Ok, maybe it wasn't a legit crash, but he was happy, he thought as he munched on something... he took a second and cocked his head slightly, examining the snack he had found. He... had no jackin' CLUE what it was, the punk boil decided before tossing it into his mouth. But it tasted pretty good!
"Definitely shouldn't tell Nahm," he said with a grin. "Not till I'm finished, that is." Oh! There was another booth! SCORE!

"I know we have phones! I just.... forgot," Michi huffed slightly. And if red skin would ever hold a blush hers did just slightly from embarrassment. "Doesn't matter, it worked right? You're here, and now we can have some fun!" He stepped off of his skateboard, which in retrospect was rather cool, and paused to compliment her outfit. So with a saucy little grin Michi twirled on the spot for Alex. "Why thank you kind sir. I'm a ghoul who likes to dress up for a party!" Without much thought into it, the smoke demoness looped her hand in the crook of Alex's right elbow and proceeded to pull him along slightly. She was super excited for this, and wanted to see everything right this second. And wanted to try all the food. And just... wanted to have fun! "Where do we start? Have you ever been to one of these things before? I've seen a few of the Japanese festivals because my mom likes to throw them, but I haven't been to one of these before!" All in all Michi sounded almost like a kid in a candy store. She was too excited and kept shifting her weight from foot to foot. She almost looked like she was bouncing around and trying to keep herself from dashing to all the booths at once. Her clear blue eyes were lit up, and dancing from spot to spot to take in all the decorations. Frankly, she was digging the red in it all. It was a good color after all!

As the mantodae walked to the festival he might have looked slightly worse for the wear. It had started off with him waking up and remembering that he was supposed to accompany Miss Xiu-Ying to a festival. So he had put on his least worn-and-mended shirt. Then he had been dragged into a fight (not that it really took that much to get him to accept a spar). The spar had apparently been a grudge match of some sort, and he had lost in a dazzling way. Again. His shirt had had to go straight to his sink, and while most of the blood had come out it was still soaking to try to get rid of the layers that had soaked in. So he was now wearing his shirt that had been slashed across the middle by Sparrow when he had first arrived, and while he had mended it it was impossible to hide the damage. Just like his nose. As he walked toward the festival he decided that under no circumstances was he going to think about his recent fights, Miss Xiu-Ying had wanted to come to this celebration so badly that she had even invited him. So he was going to be a good companion. And not think about how much of a failure he was. By now he was used to being overwhelmed by sights and sounds, but while they intrigued him he headed in the direction she had told him to go and saw her. She looked...dressed up. Immediately he began to feel even more self-conscious about his appearance, but there was nothing to do about it. He approached quickly, before he could third-guess himself on what exactly he was doing going to a festival with a ghoul (she was safe, she is a friend, she is nice, she would not try to surprise you with something awful). "Greetings Lady Xiu-Ying," he said with a slight bow. Should he compliment her? What did friends even do in circumstances like this?

He answered her slowly, still staring at her outfit appreciatively "Ya..worked great..." But then she was looping her hand around the bend in Alex's elbow and was pulling him along, talking a mile a minute about the festival and sounding rather excited about it. "Uhm, nope, haven't actually been to a lunar new years festival before. Zombies don't really have much to do with that stuff." He answered, as his gaze wandered towards the assortments of booths and he sniffed at the air. Foooooood.... His belly was rumbling almost immediately. "Well if you don't mind, I'd love to grab something to eat before looking around at anything else?" His gaze shifted back down to her, though he was then forced to blink his eyes as tendrils of smoke assaulted his vision. Really, though he was making the suggestion, he was completely at the shorter ghouls mercy. She was the one pulling him along, and she was the one that had invited him here. He would do whatever she wanted to do without any complaint or hesitation.

She wasn't dragging him along at a horribly fast pace. Michi had half a mind to remember that Alex was indeed a zombie and wouldn't be able to keep up with her own pace. So she kept herself slow despite the urge to run towards everything. The smoke demoness had to look cooler this way, right? "Food sounds like a great idea!" She started to amble along in that direction, keeping a decently firm grip on Alex's elbow. But her gaze landed on someone else wandering the food area. Another tall, handsome looking boil. Purple hair, piercings, and even with a guitar slung across his back. Ding ding ding! Someone new to meet who was pretty hot. Worked for Michi! "Hey, there's an envelope!" Right next to the guy was one of those New Year's things. Michi let go of Alex pretty quickly and dashed over to grab it. Of course once the thing was in her hands she grinned up at the punk looking boil and winked at him before opening it. Nothing inside.... oh well. "Hey there handsome. Can you play that at all?" Okay, she hadn't forgotten about Alex, the dash hadn't been that far at all. They were all in the same area. She had just... well, flirting never hurt anyone did it? Of course she took a half step back towards Alex. She just... was flirting with her eyes or something like that. Right?

And then, almost suddenly and behind Alex, as Michi temporarily parted with him to try the stall and flirt with Roch, came a low: "Hey."
Mort looked like he could use some sleep, or at the least looked like he should be laying down, not in the middle of a festival. There was a drawdown in his features that was subtly different to being simply tired, however. The zomboil clasped his shoulder in greeting before sliding it off. "G-Got date?" he queried, passing the demoness a look.

Roch took the carton of food from the vendor, grabbing one of the meat buns and tossing it into his mouth. It seemed like seconds before it was gone, and he was reaching for another before he heard the ghoul ask him the most retarded question he had ever heard. He munched on another meat bun as he thought about how to answer that, looking at her with a strange expression. "Okay!" he finally decided. "I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt," he explained, "and say 'Play what?'" Because she might have thought the food booth was a game booth or something, right?

It seemed that Michi agreed that food would be a good idea to start things off, and he happily let her tug him along towards the booths, the smells escaping from each stall only making Alex all the more hungry. He briefly noticed the purple haired boil..Roch, right? Yes, the one that Yin had once believed was Danny's boilfriend... Well, he was there, near the food stalls that Alex and Michi were making there way towards. Alex had never actually formally met the Reaper, but knew of him, and had sat behind him at the assembly not all that long ago. Suddenly Michi was letting go of Alex's arm, causing the zombie to halt to an unexpected stop, stumbling forward just a little when he suddenly heard a voice from behind and a hand was clasping down on his shoulder only to slide off moments later. OH! It was Mort! "Heya buddy!" Alex said happily, before noticing how very run down the other zomboil appeared. "A--a date?" That was an interesting question, actually. Alex hadn't made any assumptions towards this being a date, and his gaze drifted over to Michi, who was now shamelessly flirting with Roch. Well, that made his decision right there! "Naw, not a date. She's just new to the school, hasn't made a lot of friends yet, I guess. Hey are you...ok?" He frowned, looking down at Mort with a concerned expression.

"M'fine," Mort waved him off most unconvincingly, pocketing his hands. "Just lil' . . . tired. New say you?" He watched the smoke ringlets coming off the ghoul's body with a small grimace. Where there was smoke had to be . . . "Just careful, mkay?" he told his friend as Roch conversed with said ghoul, the food he was eating looking quite appetizing despite Mort not being hungry at the moment.
"Think, er . . . Think g-got brains here?" he asked Alex with a surreptitious glance, like an alcoholic asking for a tall one. Though Alex didn't know it, this particular zomboil had refrained from eating brains when he could.

...Seriously? Really? What was with the boils around here? She had met one or two who were nice and flirted back, but... what was with this? The look Michi gave Roch was simply one of annoyance. Purely annoyed and rather quickly. It didn't take a lot to make her angry. "Well, assuming makes an a** out of you and me. But I see you don't need any help. Guess I'll ask around if anyone else can play some music, and see if they'd like a job at a party or not." She really hadn't been asking because she wanted to know if he'd play at her being-planned party. But it was a good enough cover for her anyways. Michi was not in the best of moods now, and snagged some food off of a booth. It was apparently some sort of festive food, buns with some sort of filling. She bit into one to happily find meat as she walked back towards Alex who had seemingly found another companion for their little outing. She caught the tail end of the new guy asking about brains. "Hey there cutie!" She flashed a smile at Mort and finished off the bun in her hand. "I'm not sure if there's brains around here, but we could always check."
