American candidate for president. He seems legit, but I'm afraid he's just a pawn as well. Wanted to know what your thoughts were.

I personally like Ron Paul, especially in comparison to the other Republican candidates. He has remained pretty consistent on issues. I really like his economic policy as well.

I like him. Even if he is just a pawn, it doesn't make the other candidates less so, so what's the harm in supporting him? ^^

Lesser of two evils is still the Dems.

DysFUNKtional Duck Obscurus Ron Paul is Republican with an extra side of crazy. Lesser of two evils is still the Dems. Ron Paul is a libertarian. : P Which is Republicanism with an extra side of crazy.

Ron Paul isn't libertarian any more than he is republican. Ron Paul is an old man who lived through World War II. He is a person who read the constitution and doesn't like it fiddled with. He believes in gold backed currency and likes to be left alone without federal interference. He made his living early on by medicine in the military putting bodies back together in Afghanistan and later by delivering babies. For this reason he hates wars in the middle east because they give him flash backs to his military service, and he opposes abortion because it is anathema to his career path of delivering babies. He hates the Fed because fiat money is the opposite of a gold standard, and loves the gold standard because he has oodles of gold, and mining stocks.
People think Ron Paul is crazy - but if you look at his career and life path, it makes a great deal of sense. Recently the TSA tried to molest his Son - a grown man. If you were a powerful politician and the government you represented tried to sexually assault your kids and get away with it, you might have some interesting things to say about the government you thought you represented.

I already knew he wanted to cut all foreign aid, including Israel. Recently his son or brother was in the news. He was going through an airport and went off in the metal detector then declined a pat down and said America was turning into a police state O.o

It started "turning into" a police state during/after the civil war. Now it is fully a police state.
