Standard Infantry Doctrine
Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum
Infantry engage troops from the ground; given that this is where most people live and there's easy access to them, they likewise serve as a primary core force for the Manokan military. The primary task of these units are, marine invasions (from beach landings to standard transport), areal insertion (from parachuting, to transportation, to helicopter transportation), and mechanical landing, utilizing tracked, wheeled, or armored transport.
The standard infantry doctrine is to engage their enemy with as much discretion as possible, as to avoid as many civilian and other losses as possible, and mitigate collateral damage. While in the modern age, it is possible to engage the enemy from the air or sea with significantly more force and less of a chance of a loss of human life than was previously capable due to increased accuracy and smart bombs, some situations require more finesse or delicate handling; due to the methods of the enemy, and their disregard for human life, infantry must be sent in to engage these enemies with discrimination and concern, as a smart bomb does not differentiate between combatants and civilians, no matter how accurate it is.
As a result, Infantry serve as the Backbone of the Military forces, with all other forces essentially as auxiliary or support forces for their operations. Under specific conditions, artillery, air support, and even naval support can be provided to augment infantry forces, when civilian casualties can be avoided. Otherwise, the difficult task of not only staying alive and defeating the enemy, but not killing innocent people and even going out of your way to save them, will be largely up to you.
Their primary groups are, Paratroopers (Airforce), Marines (Navy), and Mechanized (Infantry). Despite your intended or desired unit, you will most likely start off in the infantry. This is to provide basic unit training and simple roleplay assessment; however, after completion you will most likely head off to your branch and continue your work, there.
That being said, it is not necessarily required.
If you read this, report fuzzy fish pickles below!
The unit composition for Manoka is mostly the same as the U.S. Marines and the Army and generally a mash-up of both. Sergeants lead squads, lieutenants lead platoons, etc. except in the special forces.
*Most* infantry are riflemen, but there is a certain degree of flexibility depending on the scenario.
