 Marceline walked with steady hoofsteps across the golden sand of the beach near the forest. The moon was shining brightly above and she found herself unable to sleep due to an exciting encounter earlier in the day. Her tail drifted silently behind her, raised just off the ground enough to not get sand in it. Her bow propped up as if it had been newly tied there. And a smile ever present on her muzzle.
Smiling wasn't something she was used to as it was a sign of weakness, one her family had looked down upon. Then again warriors tended to have their own morals about how they should appear to others. And thus their children should as well. Marceline unlike her siblings had been well on her way to becoming one as well. That was until she had started her walk just a week ago. From that walk she had been lead to this new land. Kawani lands apparently.
Her smile now fading she came to halt. She missed home, her family, and their strange and at times foolish customs. But right now that's where she felt like she belonged. Her heart ached a bit in her chest but it was something she could manage. Although, this strange wave emotions had her a bit perplexed. She hoped it was just due to lack of sleep and that it would pass. Her family and her home was in her past. Marceline would have to move on and find her own place in this new land without them. Just as she had always dreamed of. She would become a valiant warrior who protected the innocent. Or not so innocent. That part hadn't been given much thought yet.
With a shrug she turned her head up to the sky, watching as the stars twinkled above in the moonlight. It really was a wonderful night. And somehow the stars gave her a bit of comfort.

 On this particular night Luna had been traveling since sunset. She had woken up early to make sure she got an early start. She wanted to be out of the forest once and for all...probably to never return again. There were plenty of other places to explore anyways...no need to come back to somewhere she had already been.
She had spent the past couple of days traveling. Leaving behind what one might call a family, but she had never asked for children or someone to stick by her as long as Leif had. Only a slight guilt lingered in her as she traveled but she did her best to swallow it down and the the sights of the forest distract her from her thoughts. And she was easily distracted.
It was just as she found herself thinking about the past few days she saw the end of the forest. At this point she felt a sense of release and a new freedom as she galloped out of the forest. As she got past the edge of the forest the dirt under hoof turned into sand and she found herself struggling to even walk in the stuff. This was a strange new experience for her as she thought dirt should be solid and hold you up not soft like this strange light dirt.
She looked around and saw a massive blue horizon and was astonished. "Is this the end of the world," She thought to herself. She had never seen anything like this. After looking further down the coast she saw another mare who was brown with green hair.
"Hello!," She yelled at the mare as soon as she saw her.
She determined the walking just would not do and made large flutter jumps towards the mare. Even though her wings were large the delicate nature of them still struggled with carrying her full weight in the hair. She found herself soaring a little bit in her jumps though as the wind near the ocean seemed to give her an extra boost. She landed in front of the mare with a humph, falling in the sand as she lost her footing.
"Oooh, that was fun. I've never been able to fly like that. Hello I'm Luna. How are you?" She said cheerfully....forgetting all her previous worries and now looking at the mare in wonder.
