Orpheus was scouting his territory, making sure no humans had been around. It was fortunate of the shiny umbreon that he had managed to find an area that was unclaimed by territorial pokemon this far away from human settlement. However, there were those rare occasions where humans and human-loving pokemon that follows them would travel deep into his territory. Whether they were lost or just passing through, it matters not to him. In the middle of the night, he would attack their camp site and attack within the cover of darkness and often scare the travelers away. Some try to fight or capture him but never succeeding. Orpheus looked up into the sky, where the colors were starting to turn from a bright blue with white clouds to the blue, purple and pink. The corner of his lip twitched into a small smile for a brief moment before frowning again. The shiny umbreon continued along the stream as he patrolled his territory.

Kemnebi's tail twitched as he dug a little more, trying to wiggle himself into the den of a rattata he had been going after. He had managed to snap its tail off, which had been already greedily eaten by the hungry meowth, and he was fixing to get the rest of it! It had been a few days since he had seen his darkai friend and wonder where he was, it was a lot easier to hunt with him around. Things usually ran towards the meowth when scared off by the large dark legendary. In some ways, Kemnebi guessed, TDH made him a little bit lazy. "..." He stopped digging for a moment and listened closely. Yup, the rat pokemon was still in there, which only meant that this hole hadn't been meant to be a den, but a set up. Well, too bad for the rattata, it got caught in its own little trap. Idiot.

Orpheus was pawing lazily at the water where poliwags was amusing themselves. It was a good break from his mental thoughts and the constant reminders around his neck and leg. His mind, at the moment, was blank of dark thoughts. This was probably the most content he has ever been.
That peacefulness was broken when he heard scuffing and twigs snapping in the bushes ten yards from him. Ears perked and alert, Orpheus crouched low to the ground and sniffed the air. So not a human pokemon but unfamiliar. He would know a human stench from miles away, even faint scents of it on a pokemon.
Orpheus stealthily sneaked downwind, to see what pokemon had entered his territory and him not realizing it.
As he got closer, hiding himself behind some thick ferns, Orpheus could see a dark tail bouncing out of a rattata hole. Scrapping and digging could be heard by the intruding pokemon as it attempts to get the elusive rattata.
Mentally snorting with mild amusement, Orpheus stepped out from hiding and stood a yard away from the commotion before speaking. "What are you doing on my territory and hunting on my territory, no less?"

The mostly black tail suddenly became immensely more poofy when the meowth heard a voice somewhere above ground. Backing out of the whole, his ears pulled back as he looked up at a....umbreon? Yeah, that's what they were called, he was sure. "Oh...um..." Several answers came through, some clever, and some stupid, and some would probably get him killed on the spot. Yeah, he REALLY missed that darkai right now.....
"I was hungry..." The words left his muzzle before he could shut it. 'I was hungry'? That was the best his brain could come up with? What the hell was wrong with him?! His stomach let out a growl. Oh yeah...that....

Orpheus observed the hungry meowth closely. It was true. The meowth looked a little underfed and had some blood stains all over his mouth. From the looks of it, the rattata had managed to escape the jaws of this one and buried itself deep enough.
The meowth did not seem to be the underhanded pokemon that would steal a well-earned meal from another pokemon, so chasing this pokemon off his territory would be unnecessary.
"What is your name, kid?" Orpheus asked calmly, ignoring the almost idiotic answer.

Kemnebi shifted a little as he sat down, clearly nervous still even thought he hadn't been attacked yet. His eyes kept looking somewhere around Orpheus' jawline, remembering his father warning him to keep from looking at larger predators in the eyes unless he was in good terms with them. Trespassing was not good terms. He took note of the silver collar and manacle, thought kept his curiosity locked up. "I am Prince Kemnebi...thought most just call me Kemni" He spoke clearly, knowing mumbling wouldn't be a good idea.

Orpheus was slowly become less offended about Kemnebi's trespassing and more of a giving mood. It was not common but when Orpheus was in the mood, he would be generous in his behavior except when it came to human related. The umbreon could tell that Kemnebi was at least respectful and cautious in his presence due to the situation. Smart in that degree.
"Well, Kemnebi, it seems you meal ticket had escaped you; probably partially my fault." Orpheus acknowledged as he turned his back at Kemnebi butstill alert to possible underhanded attack to head north and back to his den. "I happen to have a large food cash not too far from here from my last hunt; a stantler. I could spare some to you, if you would like." Looking back. "That is if you trust me enough..."
Without waiting, Orpheus leaped over the brush and trotted at a slow pace towards the said food cash. All this talk about food is making him a bit peckish.

The meowth seemed quiet surprise at the offer of food, actually, suspicion seemed to set in. This could be a very good opportunity or a very bad one...Predators normally didn't go after other predators(thought really, that line was sometimes a little blurry). The feline pokemon got up and sniffed around the hold. The umbreon was right, his prey was long gone and tracking it down might not be worth the energy, as far as he knew, it had made it back to its nest or pack.
His stomach let out another low growl, that tail had barely done a dent on his hunger. He nervously look in the direction the dark pokemon had gone. "....Oh, I am going die...." He murmured under his breath before quickly going after him, catching up easily because of the slow pace. "So..um...what's your name?" Perhaps if they became familiar, he would be let go if the umbreon decided to turn on him.

Orpheus counted to ten when he could hear the following footsteps behind him. His muzzle twitched again into a smile but frowned again as he go back in time to when he was hungry all the time, in a cage, at that horrible human building. Hunger was not a stranger to him so he understand the pain of it. Hence why he offered this meowth, Kemnebi, some of his food.
His attention came back to the present at the question. "My name is Orpheus." The umbreon lept over a fallen tree, gracefully before resuming through the forest. The chains on his neck bounced around his neck, whereas the one on his back leg was dragging behind him, getting caught on occasion.
It seems that he was having a hard time making conversation with Kemnebi. Normally, he would travel alone and keeping his thoughts to himself. Talking to another fellow pokemon when it is not in battle is very unusual for him.
"The food cash is just a few paces away." Orpheus shot a stern stare at Kemnebi behind him. "Remember, this is my stash." The warning was clear. If he saw Kemnebi in his food storage or any other pokemon without his permission...let's just say it won't be pretty.
Making an attempt to be nicer, Orpheus continued. "What brings you out here anyway? I have never seen you or smelt you in these areas."

Kemnebi leaped up onto the fallen tree, claws out to keep himself from falling back before jumping down again and following after Orpheus. He noted the shackle again for a moment but quickly came to pace to be right next to Orpheus. He pulled his ears back submissively as he heard the warning in the other's voice, nodding quickly.
The meowth seemed surprise at the question. "Oh...well, um, I usually travel with my friend, Darkest, we stopped a few miles away from here, but he had to go do something and I don't like to stay in one place too long...You know...just in case.....Don't want to be spotted by a trainer or a very large predator if I stay in one place too long and I am alone...." With his black and white furcoat, he had some advantages, but not by much.

Orpheus listened quietly as he travelled closer to his food cash. It wasn't much further away.
Darkest. Orpheus tried to go through his mind all the pokemon he rain into or heard of but nothing came to mind. Brushing that from his mind at the mention of trainers. His eyes darken and hackles raised a little.
"Trainers. Humans. Whatever you call them, they are never to be trusted. It's good that you are keeping your distance from them. Humans will only use you for their gain, so it's best if you run from them until you are stronger to stand for yourself."
Orpheus snorted angrily at the thought of human still linger, his eyes staring out ahead of him. "Some humans are less cruel but all of them are cruel, one way or the other."
Orpheus sniffed the air and ground as he tried to focus on finding his stash. It was close. He recognize the area. Raising his head, Orpheus headed for the familiar fallen tree that has been hollowed out and started to dig a little at the ground next to it. "This is it."
It took a couple of minutes before he hit pay dirt and shred a large chunk from the rump of the stantler and tossed it at the Kemnebi. "There. If you need more." It wasn't long after, Orpheus uncovered the a little more dirt off and starting eating, himself."

Kemnebi lowered his ears. Okay, humans were a hot button with this pokemon. Noted and file away for future reference. All humans were cruel? Well, he had to disagree with that, but he wasn't about to voice it out, not when he started to sniff the faint scents of aging meat near by.
He stopped and watched the umbreon dug up the food, the meowth already feeling himself drool as the scent became more potent. He cried out his thanks before he leaped up onto the offered piece and started to eat quickly.

Orpheus glanced over at Kemnebi as he inhaled the meat as if it would disappear any second. Something in him clench a little at the sight of it. With a closer look at the physique of Kemnebi; he was thin, boney even, and trembling just faintly as he stood near him.
This feeling was a new feeling to him. Of all his encounters of pokemon, they either stayed far away due to his big '******** off' vibe and human-loving pokemon were an instant hate.
Smiling a little, Orpheus chewed calmly, "Slow down, kid. It's already dead and won't run away."

Kemnebi stopped his wolfing down the meal and had actually looked embarresed at his behavior. Really, he was taught better then this.
"Right..right." It was amazing how much weight one could lose for missing a few meals in a couple of weeks. True, it was a new territory, and berry season had come and gone already, so prey wasn't as active as it should be. The small feline pokemon started to eat a little slower, trying to remember what his father had told him. Right, go to human settlements and raid the restaurant's back trashcans. Heck, he was sure that being a cute little meowth would even bring in some free thrown food from passers by. Perhaps he should had listen to his father when he said that it would be best for him to wait until he evolve to try to go out on his own.
