She'd probably been wearing the same pair of pajamas for a couple of days. Part of it was because there was no point in getting changed. The other points was because all of her fingers had been crushed to the point of very limited mobility. Said limited mobility had been reserved for spoons and the copious amounts of yogurt, oatmeal, and other soft squishy foods that had become her diet.

Her body was going to kill her for the abuse it was learning to go through.

More or less, it had taken far too long for Cass to finally be able to will herself out of (Marcus's) bed, limping on a bound and broken foot and a splinted leg. She felt like a walking bruise. Hell, she looked like a walking bruise, and she wasn't the only one - they all had their badges of honor. Broken and cracked bones, fried skin, limps. Hell, she probably wasn't the only one who still thought that it hurt to breathe.

More than that, however, Cass was still limping around in a state of blurred vision. Not blindness, but she saw colors and shapes for the most part. It was only from the good graces of Nicodemus that she hadn't just been running into walls with the Tonberry in her head serving as a sort of guide. A guide which assisted in her set up.

With her semi-useless hands she'd somehow managed to take one of the common areas and set it up as a comfortable movie gathering. She'd been able to pity a more able hunter into assistance, but mostly she'd just stolen pillows from the other common area and just turned the entire floor into a bed for tired bodies to snuggle up in.

It was with her blanket that she'd found a nice spot to settle into and popped a movie in - Prince of Darkness. She'd seen it a couple of times, so she could at least...try to understand the shapes. After that, it was anybody's call on coming to join her. Lord knew they all needed the bonding.

Once he got back and managed to somehow make his way to get patched up, Tedan had found out that in concentrating on the broken fingers, he'd completely missed more than a couple of cracked ribs as well as an ankle that still no one was really sure it was broken or just very badly sprained. He didn't really care to know, all he knew was that it hurt - more than just about anything that had happened to him before now in his life.

Getting dressed was something that now took a good thirty to fourty-five minutes and just getting down the hallway was even worse. But he had to get out of his room... if he stayed in there another day, alone with nothing to do but stare at the walls, he was going to go absolutely batshit crazy. So he found himself limping down the hallway with his ankle in a huge cast and fingers bound tightly one to another - making his hands more like really awkward paws than hands.

And then he heard the noise of some kind of movie coming from one of the common rooms. Curious and with nothing better to do, Tedan poked his head into the door. "Hey..." he called, sounding tired and rather defeated just by a simple walk down the hall. "What'cha watching?"

Cass turned her head towards the source of the voice, her eyes obviously struggling to try and focus on who it was who had walked in to find her, but offering a smile in that direction anyways. Nicodemus was nice enough to help her at least direct where she should have been looking. She really was lucky to have him, even if they'd had a very special campfire while she'd been passed out. But they were all in bad shape - they were all grossly underprepared for what it was they were going up against. That thing had been a true monster.

And it just told her she needed to get stronger. She and Nicodemus would need to work harder than ever.

"Hi!" she greeted, trying to sound friendly, but her voice cracked and she coughed, a fresh drip of blood running down her chin. She wiped it away. She knew it was fine. If it wasn't, she was going to die anyways.

"I'm uh..watching Prince of Darkness. It's a John Carpenter movie, so if you liked 'The Thing', this one is pretty good too!" she was obviously trying to sell what was most likely a horror movie off to try and get some company. And in the middle of a pile of pillows she'd stolen from god knew where (probably Caelius's room in his absence), it was comfy enough to ask for it.

This was followed by a tired and worn look and an attempt at a smile.

"How you holdin' up?"

Tedan made his way slowly across the room to very carefully sit down in the pile of pillows with her, letting out a breath only once he was safely on the floor. Because if he managed to fall down now by moving wrong, it was just going to make everything worse. "Could be worse," he finally replied then, pushing hair out of his eyes with one paw-hand. Glancing at the screen, he tilted head a bit and then smiled slightly.

"I did like 'The Thing' so I'll give this one a try... tired of being holed up in my room."

The dark-haired trainee hadn't even really thought about the implications of the fight yet, he just knew that ... if they ever had to fight that thing again and someone of Caelius's level wasn't around? They were hosed. So totally hosed. Had the Death Hunter not been there, they would have all died.

"That was worse than what happened in October.." Cass sighed. There was a silent implication about the fact that since October there had been trainees who had been promoted (and then demoted, but never the less, they'd proven their strength), "Still, it could have been..worse..." She reached out and patted Tedan on the shoulder with her semi-mangled, but bandaged up, hand. "Guess everybody now has their badge of honor from near disaster, not just the Strays."

She was young, possibly the youngest girl in the Deus Facilities, and she'd gone through a lot in a year. She could only imagine how it got worse than that. Well, not anymore, actually. The sudden wake ups in the night, curled against Marcus's chest had been terrifying. She'd whimpered so pathetically she'd woken him up a couple of times, just to be pulled against his chest while they tried to reassure each other they were both still alive.

"Mmm, this is kind of the spiritual successor of 'The Thing'. He did 'The Thing', then 'The Prince of Darkness', and then 'In the Mouth of Madness'. They're..kind of a trilogy..sort of.

But good. Definitely good."

And hey, she'd gotten at least one movie buddy for it, so that was good.

"I don't blame you about wanting to be out and about, though. The way I see it is.." she coughed and leaned back, her lungs burning as she groaned in pain, "This won't be the last time. So the sooner we can all at least get functioning enough to manage menial tasks, the better."

His bones still ached from the recent encounter with the horseman. After Wilson had limped his way to the labs to get bandages, he dragged himself to his dorm—all the more cursing who-knew-what for placing him so damn far away—and collapsed in bed without even slipping out of his wrinkled clothes. The next few days he spent locked up in his room. Sometime during that period Wilson had somehow managed to change into another set of clothing, but he couldn’t remember when or how. His hands hurt and each step was like stepping on tiny needles. At some point he had attempted to reach for his Rubik’s Cube, but it had been an idiotic decision. He could barely twist the toy. But Wilson could only stay in his room for so long. He had to leave eventually.

It took him a lot of effort to slide out of bed, and even more to hobble out into the hallway. Wilson let his limp arms hang by his side as he slowly made his way toward one of the ends until he found himself at one of the common areas. He glanced at Tedan and Cass then at the pillows piled around. A flickering look toward the movie and he didn’t need to ask. He mutely made his way over toward one of the large, empty pillows and plopped onto it. Wilson winced at the jolts of pain that ran through his knees and arms, but tried to pay little attention as he made himself comfortable. “Sorry if you answered already, but what are you watching?”

The older trainee swallowed at her words and nodded slowly. It was, frankly, terrifying to think that it could have been worse, and that something like that could (would) probably happen again in the not too distant future. He winced at that coughing, knowing very well that he was lucky none of his own ribs had broken badly enough to puncture a lung or ********, the most he'd known about injuries before this was from a few of his friends getting hurt in football and stupid medical shows like House or whatever. He'd never thought he would get to experience something like this for himself - and now that he had, he knew he never wanted to again. Ever.

Tedan glanced up as Wilson came in and offered a bit of a wave. "Join the party ... right now it's 'Prince of Darkness' but I'm starting to think we should just make this a movie night."

Cass likewise waved weakly when Wilson entered, smiling again. "Yep. Prince of Darkness. I have 'The Thing' and 'In the Mouth of Madness' too if we want to watch those after...if not, I'm sure I can dig some options out of the boy's room." Part Marcus's room, part hers. She even had a pair of Pajamas in there that weren't the ones she was wearing. She had gotten to the point of taking up closet space.

So fancy.

"I wouldn't mind marathoning a bit of stuff. It is better than sitting in and reading..and maybe we'll learn something or other."

Except the story of these movies was that evil was inescapable. That...probably should have been thought about before she decided to watch it. But they were good movies, had some good ingenious things happening in it. Cass was tempted to try out the blood test from 'The Thing' someday. Would it work similarly? She sort of hoped so. Yiiisssss.

Wilson managed to return the weak wave with a half-nod. At least his neck didn’t hurt nor did he suffer from any headaches. “Prince of Darkness, huh?” He directed his gaze toward the television screen while he shifted in his makeshift pillow seat. “I wouldn’t mind having a movie marathon since I won’t be doing much for at least another couple days.” An uneasy smile flashed across his face before he found himself frowning from the mild twinges of pain that accompanied every minor movement or gesture he made.

“Learn something? Really.” His tone was incredulous at Cass’ words. “This is a horror movie, right? What are we going to learn? Never to wander off by yourself or the killer will get you?” Wilson joked. He didn’t protest the movie choice, though. Anything to distract him from his bandaged limbs was fine with the trainee. He repeated the list of movies in his head. Huh. There was a pattern. “Do you like horror movies?”

Aliester wasn't really sure why he'd dragged himself out of bed, most likely because he was tired of hearing Puca talk insistently on how hard they were going to train when he was healed.

When he noticed there was something going on in one of the common rooms. He half hobbled, half wobbled into the room and looked at the pile of pillows, and then to the TV. He paused frowning at the horror movie, wondering if he had time to wobble and hobble out of the room before they noticed him, he didn't want to watch scary movies.

<Wimp.> Came Pookie's voice in Aleister's head.

Tedan laughed softly at Wilson's list of things they might learn, then held up two fingers (he meant to just hold up the index, but hell they were taped together) and added, "Also, be a virgin if you wanna live, don't ever check to see if the guy is really dead or not and don't pick up weird hitchhikers." There was a much longer list he'd read once back home but like hell he could remember it all now. He'd seen a fair bit of horror movies himself, though, and he didn't really see what they might learn. None of those monsters had looked or acted particularly like the ones in the movies...

Just then he happened to turn his head slightly and spotted someone else out of the corner of an eye. "Hey, you wanna join in? It's getting to be a party..."

"And also, those things are made out of FEAR which can be born from movies such as these ones, meaning that there may be a hint in more effectively killing them by finding out how they were destroyed in various sources." Cass added on at the end, "though as it stands now, just that virginity one means a lot of us are going to die." she laughed a bit before her lungs protested her.

Still, when Tedan pointed out Aliester, Cass immediately raised one bandaged-and-slightly-scabbed-over arm, to summon him over.

"Come join us..whoever that is! I can't tell!" she sighed, "because I'm still practically blind. I don't know why I want to watch a movie when I can't see. DON'T JUDGE ME." The entire statement was more humor at her own irony, than anything else. She rolled over and coughed before attempting to resettle herself. It was really hard to get comfortable, even if she did like these movies.

"But yes. I'm a horror buff. I spent a long time trying to make myself feel 'Fear' again and that's kind of how I came to love 'em. Even if they didn't work."

There was a wobbling figure in the edges of his vision. As Wilson turned his head toward the person he heard Tedan invite them, and by then he came to the foggy realization that the new arrival was actually Aleister. He wasn’t sure how the name popped into his head, considering he had only worked with him during the snow sculpting competition—Wilson winced at the Joy-filled memory—but he was glad he could match a name to the face. He didn’t seem too delighted to see what was airing, but Wilson managed to wave him over anyways. “Come on, Aleister. Afraid of a movie?” The joke died when Cass mentioned monsters could spawn from the fear generated by viewing horror movies.

The corner of his lip twitched at this. “Really?” It was directed at both the FEAR and her temporary blindness. He cracked into a genuine grin and slid deeper into his pillow, which was now comfy and warm from his body heat. “Sounds like I’d be the first one to die in a horror movie, I’d probably do those things.” Wilson shook his head. Good thing this was reality. Cass coughed and he managed to lean forward in his seat. “Are you okay?”

Aleister frowned, s**t he'd been caught. <Haha, now you have to watch!>

<Shut up Pooka> "Haha.... Hi guys." Aleister frowned as he moved over close to Cass, wobbling still. He wasn't worried about the seeing, it might've been a little blurry but wasn't near as impairing as his lack of use in his hands.

"You guys really watching horror movies?" He sounded apprehensive, and unsure if he really wanted to watch something scary after what they'd been through. "Did they take away all the happy, feel good movies?"

He finally made his way near enough to Cass that he felt okay to at least sit down for a bit, eyes focused on a Pillow in front of him. He seemed a bit uncomfortable though, shifting to try and get as comfortable as he could with the movie that was on. Aleister could feel the rest of his muscles burning in protest after having been used so soon, but he really didn't want to stay in bed that much longer.

Aleister gave a wave to Wilson, "I might be afraid of a movie, despite how wimpy it sounds." His eyes had shifted to the keychain that was attached to one of his pajama loop holes.

Tedan frowned slightly when Cass pointed out that some of those things could actually spawn from movies like this. That was ... pretty messed up. Sure, these movies were scary and all, but how could they create monsters in real life? Of course, he was pretty much required to accept that at this point since now he knew monsters were real. But still.

Tedan thought back at his weapon, shaking his head just a bit.

"What d'you mean trying to feel Fear again?" he asked Cass then, glancing over toward her.

Then he grinned at Aleister. "Heya, I'm Tedan ... can't remember if we formally met before or whatever. And the other movies are probly still around here somewhere, don't worry."
