After the strange dream Enekpe and her goddess had shared a few nights ago, Kikechum had been restless, which was a very weird feeling - a shifting, a wordless chatter in the back of her mind while the gem-bound deity stirred and thought and troubled over what had once been hers, but was now lost. Finally, though, after En complained about the buzzing, k**e had put forward a hesitant solution: they could find it, seek it out and reclaim it. If she had been herself, she would have sought her lost artifact without a second thought, but that was not the case. Her pooka-host was tiny, and hardly suited to arduous tasks. And yet...she had been hardy enough to survive Gehenna. Still, first thing was first: to find the Tympanum, they needed to find information first.

Soon after dawn, En woke and stretched and toddled down from her bed in Silence's quarters. Maybe he could help them! "Endi? she called, "Piallo~?"

With humanoid mortals this took next to no shifting of his favored form, but for others - centaurians, Underbed Monsters, Ents, Gryphons or whatever else - it took a bit more effort, but was well worth it as it helped the alienation between Deity and supplicant. He was settled in his rooms when he heard a small voice calling for him and for the Ice Demon charged with her comfort; a perfect oppourtunity to change his shape and see how effective it could be!

"I'm coming, Enekpe." Wouldn't she be surprised when the softly-pitched god of Silence came padding around towards her on pooka-feet? His tail swishing gayly behind, green eyes bright and watching for the reaction of his small companion. 'What can I do for you today, dear friend?' As he awaited her reply, Endi provided them a repast of luscious fruits, aromatic cheeses and toasty bread made from finely milled grains. For drink there was water, milk and juices...even wine if either wished it - breakfast fit for a king, or a Deity and his cherished guests.

Mana was just as easily weilded in this small form, but of course remaining so small and paw-footed wouldn't be so useful for when they were hunting information...but at least it was fun to play around with it until then!

Piallo, ever observant to his Master's wishes (and consequently observant to Enekpe's wishes), came forward and made a small surprised sound at seeing his Master as a Pooka. To his credit, the Ice Demon quickly schooled his expression and bowed to both. "If you have need of me, please do not hesitate to call again." Enekpe didn't hear it, but Endiovar had dismissed his servant.

That was, indeed, not what Enekpe was expecting, and was in fact completely derailed by the appearance of Silence as a pooka. She stood and gaped at him in surprise, before squealing and bouncing around him. "Oh my gosh, you're a pooka! Just like Harmodius!!"

Even the food was momentarily overlooked in favor of this completely awesome new development, nevermind that she actually needed something and had called the god for a reason. When Piallo came and subsequently left, she did think enough to add, "Oh, bye Piallo~"

'All True Gods have the ability to shift shape somewhat, once they have grown powerful enough. It's a skill that allows us to relate more closely to those worshiping...it's also part of the reason why mortal mythologies tend to have various "versions" of a particular god.' He delicately nibbled at a piece of cheese, floofy tail twitching and swishing in pleasure.

"I'm glad you like my transformation, I had hoped you would." The pooka-fied Silence tilted his head a moment; Enekpe had come seeking him with purpose, he should find out what she needed from him. "Tell me, Enekpe, did you have a question for me?"

As Endiovar explained his appearance as a pooka, Enekpe set to nibbling on breakfast, with one ear flicked in the god's direction as evidence that she was, indeed, listening. A few pieces of fruit and cheese quickly vanished before Kikechum told her to slow down, and she shifted her attention to washing down her first nibbles. She stuck her nose in the wine, believing it to be some kind of juice, but quickly pulled back with a confused expression. It tasted funny! "What is that?"

"Oh, k**e wants to find something," she then answered distractedly, lapping at some water instead. "She lost it, but she doesn't know where to find it, so we need help, I guess."

Click to show. With quiet amusement Endiovar watched Enekpe taste the wine - she was adorable with her expression and crinkled up nose at the unexpected taste! "It's wine...definitely an aquired taste. Perhaps juice or water would be more suitable to your palatte?" The pooka-fied Silence went after some fruit next, ears perked to listen to anything that his companion had to say; being stretched and attentive to anything that needed to be said but could only be unsaid.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'm certain we can help find this item. Perhaps we should start in the library. Much is missing, but surely something remains." He lapped at the wine Enekpe had so cutely disregarded, 'Does the Lady Kikechum know what sort of item we will be looking for?'

Oh, no wonder! Wine was something Anna had always specified as being for adults, which Enekpe had yet to consider herself, despite being full-grown. Her upbringing had resulted in an essentially permanent childish mindset, a consideration of herself as slightly less than 'big' people; perhaps fortunately, she was also largely unaware of the wrongness of this, and continued on in blissful ignorance.

She quickly had a drink of juice to further rid herself of the taste of the wine. "Ooh, a library? Anna tried to take me to the library with her once, but they wouldn't let me in..."

"It's a drum! Her...Bestial Tympanum, she says." It sounded awfully fancy, that was for sure!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. What a sweet 'child', Enekpe was! That she did not consider herself an adult and as such not one to partake in "adult" things like wine was endearing and adorable as all get out. Yet another thing that he would miss once her Goddess, the Lady Kikechum, had taken over completely...and yet, he would welcome her too - another sister to bring More to All That Is was nearly always welcome.

He listened, sipping at the wine she did not linger over in action or thought; she had not been allowed into a library once with this Anna person, but this Library was different, and - regardless of anything else - with Endiovar accompanying her, there would be no issues.

'Hmmm...a Bestial Tympanum? I do not recall having read anything about one, but that does not mean that information is not available. I am certain we will find what the Lady Kikechum seeks. Would you like to come with me to look, or would you prefer to stay here while I gather volumes that might contain valuable information?' He paused a bit, lifting his head and tilting it in consideration, "It would likely be best if you came with, but if you would feel more comfortable staying here, that can be arranged also."

"I wanna go!" she decided quickly, sure that this would be a marvelous adventure, and also because she did so want to finally be in a library! She'd been terribly sad when she hadn't been allowed in one as a baby - despite the fact that she couldn't read, anyway - and had always wondered what the mysterious off-limits places were like.

En quickly nibbled up some bread and cheese, not wanting to be hungry while they explored...not that she ever wanted to be hungry. "You'll have to read everything, though. I can't."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.To that, he readily agreed - he had no qualms taking Enkepe into the Library at all. In fact, all were welcomed there, so long as they did not have within their hearts to destroy what they had all worked so very hard to salvage. "Of course we will go together. Lady Kikechum will certainly know when something rings familiar when I would not."

He said this, nibbling again at the fare before them; not knowing that he would be unable to take her to the Library as soon as he would like, something that would end up to their favor, as it would bring Akakios into the mix. Young Lament would be of much help in their search. But neither god nor god-host knew these things as they supped and spoke.

'Now, is there anything else that you can tell me about this dream, Enekpe? I am most curious to hear. A deific artifact from Before the Fading, I'm certain it holds wonderous things for it's mistress. Perhaps the Lady Music would be interested in examining the Tympanum, once we find it.' Endiovar was not certain when Kikechum's artifact would be found, but he was certain it would be and also that Echo, being the Goddess of Music, would be interested in the ancient instrument (regardless of what it was used for), so he spoke as such.

"Not much. It didn't make any sense, just...it was like having a lot of dreams all at once. There was a lot of noise, and smells, and lots of animals that I don't know what they were. I remember lions, though. It seemed like it made sense to k**e, but I don't know what was happening." It had all been very exciting, but very confusing, too!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.He listened intently, ears pricked forward while Enekpe spoke of her dream and how confusing it was for her within the dream. With a delicate grace, the pooka!Silence dipped his muzzle into a bite of plump fruit, lapping up the juice welling up from the delicious fruit-flesh. "Lions, hmm?" He wondered if they were normal lions or perhaps some sort of Ageless Immortal or otherwise...very interesting and very curious - it was too bad that he couldn't tap in and talk to k**e more completely, see what she had drawn from the dream.

Endiovar fluffed his wings a bit and licked at his now juice-damp muzzle. "Do you or the Lady Kikechum know if the lion was a 'normal' sort of lion, a feral beast of the sort roaming the savannahs, or something else?"

"They were like, um...normal lions?" Enekpe had seen lions once, when Anna had taken her to the zoo. For some reason, the people there had been much less resistant to letting her in than the ones at the library. "But bigger, k**e thinks. And they could talk! I think it was them talking."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 1:31 pm

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Definitely some sort of Blessed creature, likely Immortal and made by Kikechum herself long ago. Endiovar nodded again and twitched his wings slightly before retucking them firmly against his fuzzy sides. "Talking lions - that is certainly a very definitive trait. I think that we should be able to find past lore with that." The Pookafied Silence god shifted his front feet slightly - something about this form made him want to move around, to run about and play -- he wondered briefly if the form one took could really affect the wants and needs of one's self, or if it was just that Enekpe was so innocent and full of child-like wonder that she made him want to join her, perhaps be like her for even a short while.

Food for thought later, when he wasn't sharing a bounty of delicious foods and talking about important things like dreams involving a God's past incarnation or reliquary from Before the Fading. "I think that if we meet these lions we should be careful...no doubt after all this time they'll be quite hungry." He was thinking now that they would probably need to be very careful in their approach; doing research in the newly-cleaned Library was one thing, but going out seeking potentially vicious creatures was another.

Even if Kikechum was their 'Master' it didn't mean that Enekpe was safe - how would they know their master now resided within the tiny, adorable ball of Pooka-floof? She would definitely need an escort or two. Maybe Yu would go with her? He was certainly imposing enough...! Endiovar-Pooka shook his head a bit and made a little chuffing noise; he was thinking too far ahead. This was Enekpe and Kikechum's quest, not his. If they wanted him to go with, he would, but ultimately it was the Pooka and the Goddess within that would need to make the important decisions; to choose and ask whomever they wished to aid them.

"You think so?" Enekpe looked up from her nibbling to blink at Silence with wide eyes. "You think- you think they'd eat me?" Her voice squeaked over the word 'eat,' and she looked sincerely concerned. Things - and people - had tried to eat her before, and it had been Very Scary. She'd thought those dangers were well behind her.
