It had been some weeks since the first time Natalia and Asch had met in the park and actually had a somewhat decent conversation. Even if Asch had been rather reluctant to give his childhood friend much information about what he was up to these days. Despite the tense atmosphere the last time, Asch had inwardly been glad to see and speak with her.

That last time they had spoke, this had been an agreed upon meeting place, should the both of them be able. There was no way for them to keep in contact with each other, or at least willingly on Asch's part. So meetings would have to be by chance.

Work had kept him away for weeks, but now the agent had found a bit of time amongst his busy schedule to take pause in Camphoreon City's harbor side park at sunset. And there he was, standing at the same spot as before, leaning against the railing and gazing at the ocean beyond.

Time had bother seemed to crawl and fast forward in the weeks since their last meeting. It probably didn't help in that regard that Natalia had stopped by the place around almost every day as well. Of course she had turned it into a training exercise for her pokemon after a bit when it was clear that Asch would be a no show so it wasn't all a waste. As was becoming a habit she walked along the path looking out over at the harbor, hands clasped behind her back.

She hadn't been expecting him so it was just as much as a surprise this time when she spotted him as it had been the first time. "Asch." She greeted with a smile and moved her hands from behind her as she walked up. "How have you been?" The blond asked and gave him a discreet once over to check for anything that might be wrong.

Guy, obviously, had no real idea that Natalia and that stupid Asch had been meeting - how would he know? It was only a short while ago that Lady Natalia had made her presence known in Kodo, and Guy did not always keep tabs on her. Perhaps it was just by fate, then, that he had happened to be wandering around the same park near the same meeting place. It was either fate, or cruel, cruel irony.

Instead of the usual Lampent at his side, today Guy was accompanied by his Zoroark, Oki. The two had just completed their daily training and were now walking together side by side. As they turned a corner, Guy caught sight of a familiar face from a short ways away, recognizing it as Lady Natalia. He had certainly not been predicting to see her in such a place, but the surprise was not necessarily unpleasant.

"Lady Natalia, is that you?" As he called out to her, he noticed that she already seemed to be engaged in conversation with someone. When he got closer, he was shocked to find that he remembered that same long red hair and defiant expression on the other person's face. He stopped mid-stride, drawing a perplexed look from his Pokemon beside him. Guy's eyes narrowed.

"...Wait a minute. Asch?" That lying thief Asch?! What on earth was he doing there, and what was Lady Natalia doing talking to him?

Hearing the familiar tone of Natalia's voice, Asch stood up straight and turned slightly to look in her direction. He appeared to be fine, if a little tired, although he was doing a fine job of hiding it and was probably more tired than he appeared. Team Rocket had been working him hard lately, but he wasn't about to complain. However, to see a familiar smiling face was certainly a pleasant change.

"Fine," he told her calmly.

He was about to continue when something caught his attention. Asch's green gaze quickly whipped away from Natalia and towards a certain blonde man that was approaching. Then Guy spoke, and realized that Asch was there as well. The red head merely stared back coolly, not saying a word.

Natalia looked him over again to make sure that 'fine' actually meant fine. "I''m glad." She said after finding nothing that stood out as a problem, just like the first time. Everyone looked tired from time to time so she wasn't very worried, planning on telling him to get more rest before they split off this time. Before either of them spoke anything else though she turned as well at the voice. A smile on her lips for her friend yet worry in her eyes for how this might effect the situation.

"Guy! What are you doing here?" She asked, hopping that this chance meeting wouldn't turn into the Halloween party all over again. An image of Asch holding a sword pointed at Guy flashed in her mind.

Asch said absolutely nothing in regards to Guy's arrival, and Guy didn't really mind that. He was much more concerned about Lady Natalia than dealing with Asch at the moment. Such things would come later. He quickly made his way over to the Lady [obviously without getting too terribly close] with concern blatant in his expression.

"What am I doing here? I was only just passing through! But Lady, what are you doing here? I mean..." Guy glanced from Natalia to Asch and back to Natalia again. Confusion was prevalent in his voice as he spoke again to his friend. "Um... How exactly do you two know each other?" Surely the Lady was aware of just what Asch had done?

As Sir Guy went on with his interrogations, Oki took a moment to observe the two humans now before him. It was obvious that Sir Guy had previously encountered both humans, but it seemed that he was in much better relations with the female rather than the other male. Perhaps the female was more powerful and thus a more worthy companion? Or perhaps she and Sir Guy had simply been acquainted for a longer period of time? Oki quietly recalled that bonds between humans could be very strong - or very frail - indeed. He decided it would be best to observe the reactions of these humans for future knowledge. He could call it research, but it was also fascinating in of itself.

Asch continued to stand there and watched them, but only for a few moments more.

"I should go," he said stoically, before turning his back to the two of them. This wasn't a situation he wanted to be in, and there was no doubt that Guy was going to fill in Natalia about certain details. He had no desire to answer to the inevitable questions and accusations.

There was pause as Asch then noticed the Zoroark. He stared at the creature for a moment before starting to walk away.

What was she doing here? Well it was obvious that she was talking to Asch but she supposed it could either seem like either a chance meeting or a planned one to Guy. Natalia glanced over at Asch then back at Guy, unsure just how much he was willing to let her say on that. Did Guy know about Asch and Luke? "We ran into each other at the Halloween party." She said, purposefully evading whether that was the 'first time' they met of not.

She looked over at Asch with a slight panicked look when he said he was leaving and turned to go. "Wait Asch! Please don't go." A few steps closer to him let her reach out and lightly grab his hand, not grasping too tight to not give him a choice.

Guy wasn't entirely sure by what Lady Natalia meant by how they just "ran into each other." Did that mean that she just mistook him as a friend or did they just become friends then? Have they been meeting each other since then? Several of these thoughts began swimming through Guy's head, but he forced himself to focus on the bigger task at hand. The way Guy saw it, Lady Natalia was in danger.

All of a sudden, Asch turned to leave, and before Guy could try to stop him, Lady Natalia beat him to it by... grabbing his hand?! What? Guy blinked in surprise at this unexpected gesture. He took a deep breath and turned to Oki, whispering quietly into the Zoroark's ear. "Keep an eye on him, and don't let him do anything out of sorts." The Pokemon nodded silently.

With that done, Guy turned back to Natalia, getting as close as he dared to her to try to speak to her more privately. "Lady, I hope you're quite aware of just what that kid has done." Had he really not told her anything? Well, Guy thought bitterly, that made sense. One doesn't really makes friends by telling people that one is a thief.

There was something about the way Natalia grabbed his hand, or the pleading sound in her voice that made Asch pause. Thus he stopped and frowned, taking a few moments before finally turning to face them again. Although he did pull his hand away from Natalia's, he didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave anymore.

Folding his arms across his chest, his frown was now leveled on Guy, as he was certainly close enough to hear what he'd said. There was no point in denying that he had done anything wrong, since he had. He would admit to it. And there was no point in avoiding the inevitable either, thus why he decided to stay.

If Natalia decided to hate him then so be it. It wouldn't change anything and he would just be back where he had been before she arrived in Kodo.

Natalia spared Guy a glance before looking back at Asch as she waited to see if he would leave or not. "What do you mean, Guy?" She asked though she didn't talk quietly like Guy did. There wasn't much point seeing how close they were. What had Asch done? He must have done something bad for how Guy was acting right? But she held hope that it wasn't anything terrible and that maybe it had something to do with who took him. Anything she could write it off would work.

When it was clear Asch was going to stay she gave him a small smile and folded her hands in front of her so she wouldn't be more tempted to reach out for his hand again. Now wouldn't be a good time for that.

"Oh, so he hadn't told you, had he? But that only makes sense," Guy commented rather bitterly. He had not intended to sound so rude about it, but thinking about it more and more just proved to make him angrier about it. Lady Natalia seemed to trust that Asch to an extent, and it pained Guy to say anything that might upset her, but it pained him even more to remember how hurt Miss Rosie was that day of the contest.

"Lady, he stole someone's Pokemon! Guy gestured accusingly in Asch's direction. "He stole it from someone who had trusted him as a friend, and it nearly broke her heart." Moreover, Guy could do absolutely nothing to prevent it. All he had managed to do was slow Asch down, but he couldn't get Vahy'n back. In the end, he wasn't able to protect his friends, and the guilt of that fact weighed heavily on his shoulders.

Oki passively watched on as Sir Guy made his statements to the company. The Zoroark himself had not known about the aforementioned thievery, and he cast a scornful glare in the red-head's direction. There was no honor in stealing for any purpose; in Oki's opinion, the act of thievery was reserved for the cowardly and the weak. However, he could not help but note that the accused human did not flee when he was presented the chance: he could have easily escaped from the female's grasp. He was not running away from the inevitable. Silently, Oki continued watching, his interest slightly piqued. Perhaps there was more to the short human than he had first imagined...

Told her what? Natalia was going to ask Guy to explain farther when he did with out prompting on her part. The world stood still for a second as Guy's words repeated in her mind. Instantly denials started to form in response. Surely Asch wouldn't steal someones pokemon right? He had to have a reason right? She turned to Asch with a searching/pleading look, hoping he would prove her right.

"...Is this true?" She honestly didn't mean to make it sound like she doubted Guy's words, he was a close friend after all but Asch was Luke. "Why?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:05 pm

Asch put on his best neutral expression as he looked at Natalia, asking if it was true.

"Yeah." He said after a moment. There was no way he would lie to Natalia, at least if he didn't have to. She deserved to know the truth about him. Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes and furrowed his brows, knowing that this wouldn't settle well with her.

"I can't tell you why. Just that it's my job." And that was that. He didn't want to go into how he was a part of Team Rocket. That would be crossing into dangerous territory, and he didn't want to get either of them involved anymore than they already were.

Obviously Guy had no need to be aware of Asch's confession due to the fact that he was there at the scene of the crime, but some small, bitter, angry part of him gained a small sense of satisfaction from it. He wasn't lying about it, that was for sure, and that was both relieving and infinitely confusing to Guy. Relieving because he didn't have to further prove his case if Asch had denied it, but confused because Asch didn't deny it. He could have easily said 'no' to the accusations, and yet he did not. Why? Did he and Lady Natalia really trust each other that much?

The remark about it being Asch's job prompted a contemptuous scoff from Guy as he looked away, eyes narrowed in a glare. What kind of occupation would have someone just take another's precious Pokemon and abscond with it? That was criminal's work! As he grew more and more angry, Guy's hand twitched for his sword at his belt. He forced himself to relax as he moved his hand to rest on his sword-hilt, but he kept a watchful eye on Asch as he did so.
