Feng is the kind of guy that makes a good soldier. Give him an order, or specific instructions, and he follows them to a T. He does what he's told and does it well. Unfortunately, without orders, Feng is kind of hopeless. Rather than making decisions for himself, he runs from his problems. Running is just so much easier than facing the hardship.
In day to day life, he's a fairly simple guy. He's usually happy and enjoys the occasional sport. Just about any amount of good news puts him in a favorable mood. However, his slight claustrophobia, or being in a room filled with negative attitudes and arguments can make him irritable and upset.
Shang definitely prides himself on being the more intelligent of the duo. Usually when Feng starts to panic about needing to make a decision it's Shang who steps in and makes it for him, or at least tries to guide him into a decision. Though Shang's wisdom is often ignored or grasped way later, much to his dismay, the dragon really has become a good support for Feng and they work well together.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Dealing with seeing the shadows was difficult, and Feng had a hard time coping with it. After learning in elementary school that the other kids didn't see shadows like he did, which promptly led to the loss of most of his friends, he learned to hide his "ability." He avoided places where there seemed to be more shadow activity, which occasionally threw cold water on plans he had with the few friends he made. Still, he struggled through and made it.
Things got worse after graduation when he was no longer forced to stay in one building and he was given a choice where he wanted to work. He began hopping from job to job, running from the shadows and searching for a place where then no longer appeared to him. He'd start work at one place, feel good about it, and then one day a shadow would show up and he'd be on the run again.
Eventually the hunters came and he agreed to sign on with them, hoping to stop the shadows from appearing to him anymore.
