Otherwise. . . * •·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·• 『Role-Play Expectations』 A majority of you know that I take my RP very seriously and if I find something that isn't at all appropriate for either character, nor anything about the plot discussed, I will drop it without even a notice and move on to someone else. This isn't out of disrespect for the person... Okay, well it is kinda. But its a lot more complicated than that. I may love a person as a buddy buddy chat have a cup of tea sense, but sometimes they just fail at meeting my demanding RP needs.
I write. I am a storyteller. Each character is playing a part in the weave of the world in which Herds of Azreth resides in. Each character has a role. If that potential is not met, perhaps it has something to do with the way the character is wanting to go. Every character is alive in some way and they tend to end up doing things that the narrators ( er RP-ers in this case) just don't want them to do but they do anyways. Kinda like the little cricket in Pinocchio...A conscious. Requirements for me are simple: • A Beginning and a definite End----- If you know how you want to begin something, and know how to end it, the middle falls into place and will allow for the most diversity and the more likely hood of variables and character development. If it ends up not where it was supposed to end, we can always look back and see what happened in the long run and how this will effect the overall plot we are wanting for those characters. IE: Its all about how and when you get there, not the destination. • Willingness to Let a Character be a Character----- Character interactions are not to be taken personally. Ever. Yes, sometimes things will need to be rationalized, but that doesn't prevent a character from doing what it is they need to do. That is what makes a great RP: You can't change your personality overnight, why would you think you could a character because someone doesn't like it? • Ability to Write----- You need to at least be able to formulate five to ten sentences and be willing to go up to at least twenty paragraphs if you are wanting to write with me. I write detail. I write the characters thoughts, feelings, desires... Hell, if you let me, I'd probably write the letter that the character is writing and force him to dictate it to yours twice with revisions and possible spelling errors. Oh...and you need to be able to spell. Or at least know where to put commas and periods. Use of a Semi-Colon would probably rock my world, but that's an advanced step that I have found very few know the use of in the B/C.

『Bare Bones』 •·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·• Height: 5’11 Inches.Weight: 170 Lbs Around. Age: 30 years ( aged well. ) Hair: A cool red that frames his face. The fine straight hair is cut at a medium length so he can pull it back when attending paperwork or playing around with kids. Bangs do escape, but they are brushed to either one side or another. Eyebrows: Well kept...or at least he doesn’t have a unibrow. Eyes: Hazel falling mainly into the green category. Normal eye sockets let him have the most expressions. Face: A soft masculine face that works well with his beard. ( Beard has a few grey patches around his temples and lower lip. ) A little too angular when he shaves everything off though. Beard: Stubble at this point. He doesn't have much time for save trimming it once it reaches a certain length. It does soften his face up and that is probably the only reason why he allows it to grow. Skin tone: A fair complexion that has seen a bit of sun. His nose and ears are slightly red from either too much sun, too much booze, or too much heat or cold. . Muscle distribution: Toned, but not overly muscular, but strength would surprise. Clothing: Dark brown leather traveling boots are worn almost all the time whether he is inside the castle or off tromping in mud. ( Drags in mud on purpose sometimes. ) Comfortable traveling pants are worn, and tucked into his boots, in either a formal black or a working stained ( we think ) brownish something. Belts grace his hips and waist holding many pouches that he uses to carry everything in that doesn’t fit in his coat pockets or saddlebags. ( either black, brown, or white). His shirt is fitted, sleeveless and is a high collar number in either black or night sky blue. In formal settings he goes with his Alchemist ensemble that consists of a shin length vest that buttons once over his collar bone and a hooded robe that also buttons once over his collarbone via reverse buttons ( Buttons are underneath to give a seem less and magical sense about the robes. its an accidental tradition started from a probably drunk Alchemist and the trend hit off... . ). The outer robe does have a hood, an elaborate hood that is only worn on the head in extremely formal and diplomatic or ceremonial occasions. The rest of the robe drapes to his shins, and the sleeves are belled out to allow the accenting of movement as well as to allow the most movement possible in his arms. Widest part is at the elbow where it tapers off to a point for the remaining fabric. Since this leaves his forearms bear, Zel wears simple matching gloves that only cover his thumb, ring and little finger. The gloves go past his elbow and give the illusion that he is wearing a long sleeved shirt that is complex. ( easier to turn pages with a few finger tips exposed). The robe normally a dark red ( though the traditional is a grey or black), with the vest a striking white or black., with silver trim. (Again traditional would be a red, blue,yellow,or green trim.) The trim varies...
Informal? A good longsleeve tunic and a worn, tattered, and well loved traveling cloak. And if its cold he wears a hand knit sheepswool hat with tassles and a pompom. However when he is on travel for some reason or other, he is quick to don the native garb simply because those clothing items were designed for the area. His body'll adjust to the change anyways.
He usually shows up with at least the wool hat for summonings he think that are beyond stupid. Aka. Pretty much all the time. Even better, he shows up in full regalia....wearing the peasant hat. He doesn't seem to want to take anything seriously while in the Castle because to him, all the pompus acts are just acts. But he will quiet his acting out when sincerity is presented.

『Short History of Zel』 •·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·•◢■◣•·.·´¯`·.·• This will be updated as his story progresses. Around the age of Nine, his grandmother ( a Magus and the Matriarch of the village of Nod, where he is from. ) sent him with his parents blessing to the lands below to train in the Skill he demonstrated since the age of 4. He graduated quickly, decided to travel the path of the Alchemist after he found the path of the Magus to be too much about dancing around naked in a circle of sheeps blood holding chicken legs and not about practical theories, and got hooked up with a fantastic Mentor on the Island that was his home. He learned quickly, and by the age of 24 he was a full fledged Alchemist in all aspects but title. In fact, his skill was so great that his mentor was pretty much letting him learn on his own and not only making Alchemy stones, but enchanting them with complex spells that only Grand Masters could possibly undertake. It was around then that he met the boy that changed his life and his path.
Somewhere between the ages of twenty-four and twenty six, Zel and Azreth discovered Azrein. Somewhere between then, Zel took on the burden of guilt that keeps him at Azreth's side even when it is clear the boy doesn't know what he's doing. Somewhere, Zel stepped away for a moment's notice and felt his life grow complicated all too fast with the appointment of Alchemist to the King. Somewhere between those ages, Zel ran home to seek his grandmother's council only to be told that this is a phase the young king is in. It'll pass... Just keep calm, and carry on.
Now, at the age of 30, he is the Crowned Alchemist to the King Azreth Deservian of the Floating Isle of Azreth, and on top of his duties to the Order, he is in charge of monitoring the education as well as monitoring the front lines and where the entire Isle stands in all aspects. Pretty much, he runs around at night and gathers intelligence on internal affairs of possible terroristic standings. Oh..and making sure that Azzy doesn’t get into too much trouble... Its a thankless task, but someone has to keep that kid in line. Though recently, Zel has been enjoying the small reprive with the return of a very mysterious and totally over-qualified Butler.
Frankly, he’s made so many advancements on the Island that he pretty much has so much free time that even taking on an Apprentice hasn’t slowed his boredom down. He’s found himself wanting to settle down, perhaps vanish to Nod for a bit to seek council with his Grandmother Althos and perhaps see some of the girls she keeps trying to push at him.
And because he’s bonded to Zeddler, Zel and his Azrein chosen have chosen to keep distanct in all but mind. With the war and with all the creatures popping out of the shadows, it is the safest thing for them both. Few people know, the King, the Duke, and a few others only and that is exactly how Zel would like it. It is a time of war, and if word got around to the Six that the Alchemist was bonded, not only would Zeddler be in trouble, but Zel himself and that is just one more danger that isn’t going to happen on his watch. He has more than enough plates juggling with running after Azreth.
Did I mention he makes stuff that goes Boom and does all sorts of magic potions? Favorite: Transmorphing himself into a rather regal Gryphon and flying around. Bad part is that he’s pretty much passed out cold snoring like a troll for a couple of days afterwards because he has to tap into his magic reserves to morph Azreth and Edward too....
And on top of all his other duties, he’s fallen in love...

If I say he cannot do something, he cannot do something. If there is an exception, do not make a scenario that that is needed unless you ask me first because of all the unwritten consequences I have. What separates him from the rest of the magical users on the island ( at this point) as well as the rest of his fellow Arcanium Fellows is his belief that magic is to be used in extreme cases only. If his life was on the line or one of his loved ones he would do everything in his power--and then some-- to keep them safe or not as likely to die. What is most curious is how he can do this with a minimal amount of tapping into his Skill. Survival Skills: Because he has always been on the road tending to his flock of sheep back in Nod, he was away from civilization for months at a time between his schooling. One quickly learns how to survive on next to nothing and what is safe to eat and what isn't. Later in his years, he started getting more and more into battles. Basic surgery knowledge was learned such as stitching up gaping holes and diagnosing if the person was savable or not. There are also those old wive's tale drinks he knows how to make ( and most of them are just dried leaves in tea and the mind does the rest.) Healing: Healing magic is something he doesn't do very often for one very important reason : To heal another, one must give up a part of themselves. Many healers forget that and that is why they tend to look washed out or used up by the time their skills are really needed. He can heal, hell, he could probably bring someone back from the dead with enough will power... But he doesn't. Instead he uses 'Alchemical Blood Stones' ( A concentration of life energy in varying amounts all depending on the shade of the red ranging from light pink to black as the abyss ) to aide him when he needs extra power to heal. Simply crush up the stones, let the 'liquid magic' seep into the skin at the wound, and sit back and bind as you would any other wound. These stones are very rare and take quite a bit of energy to make. However, it takes reserved energy. Meaning he is just fine as his life force isn't tapped unless its one of those very special stones that could revive a person in battle. ( And those haven't been seen in over two thousand years! ). THere is some energy loss, so take that into consideration that anyone imbibing in one of those stones will not feel 100%, just maybe 90% to 95%..

That goal was to create a safe environment for all to grow, to learn, to laugh and to cry. Zeddler was Zel's answer to the grief and guilt that suddenly weighed heavily on his shoulders. Zeddler reminds Zel to laugh through it all. Otherwise, by now Zel would have moved on -- a smear on the landscape below. .

However, there are few that he holds dear and close. Or hates with a passion. Though, that's still kinda grey. Any relationship may prove useful. Direct FamilyMagus Nam Althos --- Grandmother (NPC) --- She is the matriarch of the Althos clan and formerly was employed at the Castle before hiking back to Nod to spend the rest of her days dealing with her children and children's children. She aged very well, looking about a worn sixty years instead of her one hundred and seven. There was a falling out between Zel's mother and father and Nam, but it was simply over leaving the island to do research on the Land's Below. That is why Zel is more associated with Nam than his own parents... whom he does get letters from once in a while, when they remember to write them. Oh silly magic users. Nam doesn't run the village of Nod, she's just the Village Elder. Kinley --- Wife/Fiance ( ~Kiana_Nala~ ) --- She's his wife and closest companion of the non-equine variety. Though there are still a few secrets even he cannot tell her --though he wishes he could-- Zel keeps her in the loop as much as he can. If anything happened to her, he would probably forgo his vows as both Crown Alchemist and to the Arcanium College to get her back. Eventually the two plan on having a few kids, but they first need to settle down and sort a few things out. Namely how they'll balance courtly life with the wild and unpredictable nature of the world they're now in. Practically FamilyKing Azreth Deservian -- King, Unofficial Younger Sibling ( Azreth Deservian) -- While the boy may be king, Zel treats him like any other person. Because they met when the boy almost was king, there is a bond between them. However, it was strained when Azreth's father passed away and suddenly there was this demon butler following the boy around. Zel speaks nothing of the demon as it would mean not only revealing to the public that their king summoned up a demon ( which is instant death), but it would bring political upheaval as well as break the promise to the late king to keep Azreth safe. Besides, the demon does more good than evil... And Azreth is growing into those tall shoes of his father.... excluding those annoying heels the boy always seems to be wearing. Duke Edward Drake -- Close Confidant, Potion Tester ( TeC ) -- Pretty much the brawn of the Castle, and a great sport. The humble born noble keeps Zel in good spirits when the King kills the silly joy or drives Zel to the point of making rather not nice potions like parrots or slug potions. Ed would be the only other soul in the castle that Zel could amit he knew what and who the Butler was; the gravity of that situation was known and the two swear they know nothing about that more than happily. They tend to cause trouble when left to their own devices... not terrible trouble, just giant dragons made of water terrorizing the war yard. Vincent -- Adoptive Son (Nay-nay) -- He found the boy clinging to a life not of his own, and had to literally drag him out the door to Avandere where the boy just picked up adventuring and royal guarding like a fish to water. The boy's wife, however, Zel just can't stand some days which is unfortunate as Zel loves the boy dearly. It has been quite some time since he last saw Vincent, so there is quite some anxiety surrounding the boy. FriendsV -- Errand boy, Engineer ( Nay-Nay) -- Zel found him wandering about Avandere one day looking utterly lost, showed off a few moves and that's how the poor inventor from a podunk town wound up living and managing the Royal Shop. Every so often, Zel would wander down excitedly and the two would create some new invention that would most likely blow up or be too dangerous to sell, but they'd have a blast.

The island has little information other than what is common knowledge. A group of travelers would have a fun/dangerous/fatal/probably not so very fun at the time time exploring every inch of the island from the mountains to the underbelly of the land. Zel really wouldn't mind coming along as an entertainer and that one guy with the healing stuff.
