Chamber wasShocked.... perhaps even a little worried.... Lately Mai was getting sick...Yet he couldn't figure out why just yet...
Mai put a paw to her mouth brushing lightly across it. Tears formed in her eyes. She just had gotten sick yet again. Why was she so sick? She was obediant when Winter sent her away to the doctor. She didn't like this one bit.
Chamber sighed gently. He couldn't remember what happened.... One night they had drank to much and things were a blur.. he was scared mostly. Ever since that night Mai was getting ill. Had he... harmed her? Had he... hurt her? His paw reached up, ringing the doorbell to her house. Perhaps he could see her condition.
Scoot opened the door more then likely to his surprise. The kit of coursed jumped him. "Chaaaaaaamber! I'm helping get Mai moved in. But she is sick so Mama took her to the doctor. They should be home soon! Ummmmm I think. You wanna help me? Will make Mai happy!"
He jerked at the whirl-wind of her emotions, though once he managed to moved her away and the emotions ceased he smiled sweetly. "She's sick? Oh... Yes. I'd love to help you."
Scoot bounced off him then bounced back into the house. "Ooohhhhhh. Chaaaaaamber! You gonna move in with Mai?" She bounced from wall to the next putting things into place. "Mama said you two should become lifemates. Are you gonna do that?"
Blinking, a tiny blush touched his cheeks. "I... actually... don't tell Mai this but I wanted to take her on a date, perhaps..." Perhaps ask her to be his, finally. Rubbing the back of his neck, he entered the house, sighing gently at the kit. "You'll just have to see~"
Scoot squealed in girlish delight. "I just knew you loved Mai!" She tripped over a wing and landed on her face. She started giggling. "Maybe you can take her after she gets better. Mama said there has to be a reason that she is sick." She dove for a box. "Mai doesn't have much so Mama and I went shopping!"
Blushing, AGAIN, he watched her trip, about to help her when she giggled. Sighing in relief, he noticed the box, head tilting. "What is that?"
Scoot looked into the box. "Sheets, towels, wash cloths, umm...." She lifted out a pot holder. "Whatever this thing is." She grabbed the sheets and towels and bounded off to put them away in the linen closet.
Similing lightly, he sat down, humming gently. "What did you need help with, Scoot?" He asked curiously, head tilting as he rested it on his paw.
Scoot came back into the living room. "Ummmm." She looked around. "Ohhh! Mama and Mai were setting up her bed before they left. Soooooo maybe we can surprise them and have it all done when they get back so that Mai can go to bed and rest if that is what she needs."
"Alright." Standing up, brushing his paws off, and smiled good naturely. "I don't mind. Lets go." With this, he headed upstairs, head tilting back. "Which room?"
Scoot bounced past Chamber. "Over here! See there are ummm three rooms. One downstairs and two up here." She bounced into the large spacious room. She pointed at the half put together bed frame. "I'm to small to use the tools. Otherwise would have done it myself."
Chamber nodded, looking over at her. "Why don't you get the pillows and such and I'll finish the bed?"
Scoot smiled. "Okay!" Then bounced back down the stairs. She sorted through looking for pillows and the pretty set the had gotten for her bed. She stopped hearing soft foot falls coming through the yard. She peered through the open door then bounded out to meet Winter and Mai. Winter was deep in thought with a grave look on her face. She held a paw out catching Scoot before she got to Mai. "Don't jump on her." She said softly.
He got to work, easily fixing up the bed in no time. For a second he rested his paw on the bed, his eyes warm as was his smile. Mai had a home, yet what he wanted more than anything was to kidnap her, steal her away to his own home. This love for her, would it ever be received? Could he share his feelings towards her, would she perhaps love him back?
Mai held her head down slightly feeling ashamed. Her cheeks were wet from her tears, her eyes swollen and red. Winter was not happy with her. She mounted the steps into the house. She threw herself down in the middle of the living room floor. She buried her head under her paws. What would happen now? Would he even stay? She felt scared and frightened at the thought. Winter came storming through the door. "CHAAAAAMBER! Get your sorry butt down here right now!" She screamed out.
Hrn? Miss.Winter was calling. In seconds he came down the stairs, rubbing the back of his head with a laugh. "Sorry Miss.Winter, I should have visited earlier, I know." His eyes locked on Mai, worry flashing across his face, and then horror. "Mai!" Immediately he moved to get to her.
Winter jumped in front of him. She growled then grabbed him by the ear and dragged him into another room. "I'm not letting you near her until something is clear from you.
"Hey!" Chamber nearly lashed out by reflex, her anger hot, hurting his heart and lungs. Suddenly, he couldn't breathe, slapping her hand away and jerking backwards, panting until the emotion left. When he had calmed, his eyes looked up at her, cautious. It was clear her emotions were to much for his curse. "Why are you angry? All I did was make a bed..."
Winter glared into his face. Sure she was smaller then him and he could easily over take her. But nothing was worse then a mother's wrath. She switched her tail back and forth angerly, her ears flat against her head. "What are your plans with Mai?" She growled out pointing a finger at his nose. "Are you at some sort of sick game? You know she isn't normal! Are you going to take her as your lifemate? Or she just someone you will toss to the side? You had better pick your words wisely." Scoot by now had gotten Mai up to her room. She wasn't bouncing like normal. "It be alright Mai." She softly whimpered out. "Mama can't stay mad at you." Mai threw herself onto the bed and cried her little heart out. She couldn't bear having Winter angry with her. And she was screaming at Chamber. She was certain he would leave after she was done.
His eyes flashed at her words, becoming serious in seconds. He jerked away from her finger, not wishing to feel her emotions again. Snarling a tad, a new sound from his throat. A foreign sound. "What do you mean what are my plans?!" He snapped bitterly, claws digging into his palms. "She isn't a damn thing, Winter!" Ah, the drop of the miss. "Take her as my what?! I'm tired of you shoving that down my throat! I love her, but I am not going to make plans by myself! She is everything to me, and I won't be selfish! I want her to be my lifemate, but to hell am I asking her without a proper date! To hell am I going to tell you I'll claim her and make her mine when it isn't my own damn choice! It's hers, too! What I want may not be the same as her!" He snapped, furious. "I thought you of all people wouldn't see her as a thing." With this, he moved past her, snarling. "You made her cry, didn't you? You hurt her, didn't you? Now if you excuse me, I'm going to comfort her."
Winter jumped in front of him once more getting nose to nose with him. "Yes she is crying. Yes I made her cry. But you made her cry also." She bullied him into a sitting positon. "She fears being abandoned. Just like what happened to her mother." Her voice was serious. "Do you promise never to leave her?"
With a snarl, again, he was getting annoyed, standing right back up. "How long have I been around? How long did I search for her? Why the hell would I abandon her now? I haven't visited for a week. That doesn't mean I'm ditching her." His eyes narrowed, glaring. "If I made her cry I never meant to, and I want to find out what I did." He snapped. "Stop keeping me from her, I can't stand knowing she's crying. Even if it's silent and I'm not touching her it hurts here." His paw raised to touch above his heart, head jerking to the side. "Would you get out of my way now?"
Winter put her paw up calming a bit. "I'll let you see her in a minute. But I suggest that you tell her you plan on staying and making a family with her." She looked up the stairs. "Mai is....." She let out a heavy sigh. "Scooooot." She called for the kit. Scoot bounded down the stairs. "Come on we are leaving." She gave him one more glare. "You had better not leave her alone tonight." Then left the house with Scoot behind her with a raither sad look on her face.
He blinked. Quietly. After the shouting and yelling this silent was almost frightening, though he headed right for Maikoa. When he found her room he knocked on the door, head tilting. "Mai...." Moving closer, he slipped onto the bed, about to touch her, yet he didn't. He would be useless if her emotions suffocated him. "Mai, what is wrong?"
Mai lifted her head, her eyes were pleading with him. Would he leave? Winter was so angry at the news. Her head now hurt from the crying. Her eyes were puffy. She was to exhasted emotional. He had learned clumsy signs in their time together. She made one small sign to him, a sign meaning baby.
He was learning sign language, slowly, but he knew what that sign meant. Looking at the woman, his eyes widened. "Whose?" He suddenly asked, his hands becoming fists. This jealousy, this hot anger that someone had.... was she seeing someone? Was his chance over? He..... Now she was having kids... "You.... you have a mate...now?" Hurt flashed across his face, turning it to the side. "....Oh."
Mai's eyes went wide. No no no! She wanted to scream. She only had eyes for him and nobody else. She could feel a swell of hurt in her chest. Tears started rolling down her eyes once more. Her vision became blurred. She climbed off the bed then grabbed her whiteboard. She wrote through her tears the best she could. "I don't have a mate! You've not asked me yet." Her ears dropped a bit. "I've only been with you. No one else. I'm pregnant with your babies." She shoved the board at him. Her paw touching his on accident sending a wave of hurt and fear through him. She jerked her paw away realizing they were touching. She signed sorry.
As the emotions rolled through him they alerted him to look upwards. He didn't jerk away, not with Mai's emotions. His eyes flicked to the board, widening, looking at her. "I haven- You... are okay with m-" He stopped. WAIT. Wait. .....What?! "Wait?! My children?! I... we've never.... how?! I'd never do that to you unless we were mates and....I..." Oh. "The night we drank...." His eyes flicked up, horror in his eyes. "I did that to you... and we weren't mates..." Oh. He was the worse.

Mai could see the horror on his face. Was this how her mother had felt? She could feel her stomach churning from the fright of the situation. Was he angry with her? It was an accident after all. And it took two to do this so she wasn't fully at fault. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she reached for the board. She erased it before writing. "Please don't be angry with me. It was an accident. Winter is so upset with me because I promised her I would have a mate before children. If you don't want to stay I understand." She pushed the board at him then dropped her head to stare at the floor. Waiting to hear him walk away from her.
As he read he scowled, erasing the board and writing in huge, silly letters "I <3 u." He pushes it closer to her, moving so he could view her face. "You could still have them with a mate, Mai." He whispered, touching her paw despite her raging emotions. "If you'll have me."
Mai peered at the board shoved back at her. She lifted her eyes to look into his. The hurt and worry had melted away, they were replaced with happiness and love. She threw herself at him tears running from her eyes. Yes ohhh yes she would be his. She nuzzled him before giving him a long passionate kiss. She pulled away giving him a smile. She erased the board and wrote. "I'll have you. I love you. I was so scared and worried you would leave me because of my disablity." She pushed the board at him.
Returning the kiss with a smile, he cupped her cheeks, reading the board and scowling fondly at her. "I don't care about that. You're you, disability or not. I love you." Happily viewing her, her emotions now finally at a place he liked, he grinned widely. "So, as inappopriate as this is, about the kids. Are you going to live here with them, or move in with me?"
Mai tilted her head to the side. She grabbed the board erasing it then wrote. "Don't you live with your family still? If so wouldn't it be a bit crowded there? And I hope Winter wasn't to mean to you. She just wants what is best for me. She loves me very much. She is just worried is all because we weren't mates." She pushed the board at him.
Laughing, Chamber shook his head. "No. I moved into my own place." He responded, shaking his head. "Winter and I argued a lot, but she is your mother. I don't doubt that'll be the last time, either."
Mai wrapped her tail around him before leaning into him. She erased the board writing again. "It is as nice of a house as this? Does it have a fenced backyard? Is it near a park?" She wrinkled her nose. She had to thing of such things now. It wasn't just her any more. There would at least be two kits. And she wanted a safe home to raise them in. She started putting her thoughts into words. "We picked here because it is exactly in the middle of Winter's house and your parent's house. Is where you live like this?"
"I can make a fence. I'm pretty sure it's near a park and a little ways down there is a lake. The house is about the same size, has more rooms in it, though." He paused, nodding. "I can sell it and move here, though. To be with the kids." Another little pause. "And you."
Mai looked him in the eyes. She would get to stay in her newly built home. Which was better. She erased the board smiling. "I would like very much for you to move here with me. I helped with some of the planning with this house. My real mother paid for it to be built. She was worried about little things. She had them put in a system for me to safely answer the door. I can see who is at my door by a camera and I push a button that asks who they are. Since I rely on written words to communicate. She is trying to be a mother now. She no longer blames me for my birth." She smiled a bit. It was a step towards being family. Course she still trusted Winter more with intimate details.
With a nod, Chamber cracked his neck, glancing at the bed. "I suppose I made this for no reason." He added with a sly smirk. "It isn't big enough for the both of us." Sweetly kissing her forehead, his paw touched her stomach, sighing contently. Not only was he mated to the love of his life, but they were having children!
Mai would giggle if she could. Yes she would need a bigger bed. She felt a bit shy as he touched her belly. She suddenly got a thoughtful look on her face. She erased the board then wrote. "What will your parents think? Will they be happy?" She already knew how Winter reacted. She was hurt a little about this. Fear had gripped her more then anything. Unwanted kits had been pushed at her so often. She was worried it would be the same with these ones. She will be releaved and happy once she knows the fate of them.
"I'm going to tell my mother right away. She'll probably sob about being to young to be a grandmother, but I know she'll love them. My father would become wrapped around their pinkies, I believe." Another smirk. Ah, he could imagine the wailing from his mother.
