They'd spoken together of the water issue, and Khin'del had thought the two had come to an agreement on the matter. However after the voting took place, Khin'del could see that he had been mistaken. There was anger, and there was worry. Mostly there was worry. It didn't matter what became of him, so long as his children survived. That was his thoughts on the matter. The future had to be safeguarded.
Of course, there were some flaws to that kind of thinking. Just as there were flaws in the opposite opinion - Azar's opinion. Although at the moment that was all he could see - flaws. But just as both were flawed, both had their points.
In the end, it came down to pride.
Returning back to the den after the vote, Khin'del paced, bouncing between worry and anger. For a moment he stopped and ran a paw over his forehead and unintentionally mucked up his mane. He sighed. He didn't want things to break out in to a fight. Not with the children here, sleeping as they were. He just couldn't see how it wouldn't turn in to a fight. Because Azar was bound to want to talk about their split vote. As a pair, they were supposed to be united, were they not?
This was going to go horribly, he feared.

To a point Azar half expected them to have different ideas of who was right and who was wrong. They almost always did. And it didn't surprise her when this was one of those times that she was going to disagree with her mate. There were times where they got along perfectly fine, they were happy however then there were times like now when they didn't get along at all. Or so it seemed. she had no idea how the night was going to go.
She normally had an extremely fire-y temper however recently she had calmed, she had calmed a lot getting much better at controlling herself. She also recently had been moved up in rant, she was glad for the rank change she was no able to now do more things and not only that but she had a little less time to be at home. Now she was able to go and spend more time around the pride, it was harder work. Today though she was really thankful for it, mostly because of fact she could spend more time cooling off instead of going straight home. The voting had stressed her out. It had really stressed her out now that her and her mate didn't agree. She thought they did ealier but she apparently was wrong. Or he was wrong. He was probably wrong.
She was trying to keep calm, she didn't want to argue and as she approached the den she prepared herself for whatever was going to be coming her way. "Khin?" she asked curiously as she trotted into the den, she was curious on he had to say but she was about to find out.

Khin, who was currently facing away from the den entrance, heard her beckon, and his ears pricked high. He turned around and put on a cheesy grin.
"Yes, dear?" just keep smiling.
His tail, swishing too and fro, betrayed his grin and attempted calmness.

Azar looked at the male sitting in the den. She was surprised by his cheeryness. She was extremely surprised and really had no idea of what to think of it really. She was extremely confused about the fact that he was so happy to see her. Or at least was pretending to be so happy to see her. Was he mocking her? she wasn't even sure. She sneered for a moment and then huffed a little before she put on her best happy face and then started to pad into the den. "How was your day, dearest?" She asked with a small purr moving to his side and nudging him gently.

"Oh, my day? Well, it was a day! Ha! And yours?" MOAR SMILES! ALL THE SMILES!
He was having to fight his 'fight or flight' senses. Because said sense was telling him this was dangerous, and he should run. ;<< Far and fast.
Maybe they would completely avoid the issue all together! Oh, but that would still leave the horrible, proverbial, pink elephant in the den. Looming obviously between the two, but neither trying to say anything.
Oh, perhaps it was just best to get things over with!
"So um....How about that vote, eh? Real shoker, eheheheh...heh..." He ran a paw through his made again, and put on his best shitfaced grin.

Azar was a little confused by his outburst and really by the entire conversation in general. They both knew what was going on, the awkward decision that they both had in their minds. They were both trying to figure out something that they needed to talk about. They both knew that there was much going on even if neither of them wanted to talk about it. She was pretty sure that he was angry with her though and that made this who situation even more awkward.
When he started to talk about the vote she got a little stiff as if she got caught but then again he seemed really laid back about it. "Well... ha... yeah weird huh?" She said simply before tossing him a glance. "Funny how we voted differently huh?" She said a little more nervously, she tried to cover it though with confidence, she normally was a very confident lioness but around her mate it was different, she could be different around him and she enjoyed it. But right now she wasn't a big fan of it. She didn't know what to do.

"Hahahaha, yeah. Whoda thought, huh? Especially after, you know, we taaaaalked~" He then flopped onto he back and pawed up at the air like a cub, trying to play it cute and cool to avoid and potential bursts of anger, "I mean, I tooootally thought we were in agreement here. You know, 'children first' and all, haha..haaaa..."
Silence.
"It's all good though, amirite?" BIG UPSIDE DOWN GRIN ensued as he looked back to Azar.

Azar watched him curiously, what was he doing?
She chuckled a little not to sure of what to think about it. She flicked her taila round behind her and turned toward him also laying down, not as much of a flop. "Well I know I said cubs first but I also said that we all needed water." She looked at hi. "And I thought that we agreed on that." She was keeping her cool pretty well but she had no clue what to say of what he was doing at the moment.

"Uuuuuuuuh, I dun remember that..."
One large paw came to bat at Azar. After all, Khindel decided acting like a cub was a good way to lighten the mood and totally move on from the issue. However it seemed like Azar just didn't understand... yet.
"BUT HEY! What is done is done. Come play with me?"
After all, he really was just one big cub at heart.

Azar stared at him a little cluelessly. What was he doing?
she had no idea what was going on. she stared at him thinking about it not sure of what to do, she then thought about it and as she stared at him blankly as she pawed at him she thought about it more and more. She huffed and then she stood up batting her paw at his face. "What am I going to do with you?" She asked him with a laugh. She couldn't get mad at that, she couldn't get mad at that at the moment. She stared down, "I can't believe you, jerk." She was happy as she spoke, she was still a little frustrated with him but at the same time she enjoyed it.

"Aw, now I try and play with you and I get called a jerk?"
Khindel rolled over and faked a pout - ears back and everything.
"I see how it is," He crossed his paws and laid his head on them, pointedly looking in the direction away from Azar, still putting on a pout.
"Too good to play with your biggest cub. Uh-huh."
Oh, he was absolutely teasing now, taunting....

Azar laughed at him, she couldn't help it a smile was across her face. She flicked her tail around more behind her half amused/half annoyed. She couldn't help it, she was annoyed at him avoiding his cub-ness, but at the same time she loved it. She loved the cub-ness that he had. He had a feeling that he could shrug off the whole grumpiness for now, if he could then she coud too. "You're horrible you know that." She teased back, she backed up a little before launching herself forward going to pounce on him. "I like you the most Khinnnnnnnnnn" She said as she shifted his weight on him.

"Oh, so now I'm horrible," he chuckled, "but I know." He then turned and aimed a nasty wet lick at Azar's cheek. Horrible and gross, thank you very much! "Speaking of cubs, where are they?" Father of the year - Khin won it. [Fin]
