Episode III: Revenge of the Sith!

Well it happened. Cyanide Thrusts and Electric Symptom were finally separated for the millionth and a half time. They went in totally opposite directions in an area where they really shouldn't have wandered into in the first place. But that's them, the adventurous of the little raiding group of Killjoys.

After some searching and a crazy amount of hacking that only crazy people (like Cyanide) would attempt, the two finally reconnected and are soon to be together again. But it seems there are a whole new bunch of Killjoys manifesting themselves in the areas! How will this new adventure play out!?

Caynide got off of his latest broadcast and began motoring back to the area where he grew to love living. There was something about the desert sun that just made him feel home. He would also finally get to see his Electric Symptom. Being away from her made him kind of psychotic. Must've been her cool nature.

He chugged away on his cycle thing causing a large cloud of dust behind him. He was excited to see how the old zones look since he's been gone. Or how friends were doing. Or if they were even still around. Sad to think about.

What felt like hours passed by until...THERE IT WAS. The old HQ. He excitedly jumped off of his bike, letting it just hit the wall and fall over.

He fixed his hair and busted through the doors.

"Honey, I'm home!" he shouted as he jumped in.

"Symptom out."

The music started playing quietly in the background, as Symptom shuffled deeper
into the make shift chair she'd constructed using old boxes and rags she'd found
on her travels. She was shattered from the long trek from the outer zones, but
hey, at least she was back now.

Even though she'd managed to get back to her 'comfort zone' Symptom knew
that things were going to be different. The people she'd known and left when
Cyanide and herself had gone to explore, well, who knew if they were still around?
The thought that they might have been ghosted or converted haunted the girl,
and it was that fear that had turned her to customising an old blaster, just in
case a similar fate was headed her way. She would never back down, that
just wasn't her style. She'd fight it tooth and nail until one party was out of
action. She was way too stubborn to run.

Sighing to herself, she listened as the track ended, cuing her to finally switch
off what she hoped to be the first of many broadcasts to come. Tapping the
live switch off, Symptom settling herself, taking a moment to relax. That was
when she heard the sound of something hitting the side of the bunker.

Not being one to sit and wait to see who it was, Symptom positioned herself
behind the door, ready to pounce on the intruder, and hopefully wrestle them
to the ground should they pose any threat. Cracking her knuckles, she waited
for the door to open, and held her breath.

Not only did it open, it flew open, much to her surprise. In the panic, she
quickly stepped behind the person, swinging her arms around their midriff,
hoping that would stop them having any use of their own limbs. With a quick,
and directed kick, she slammed the door shut behind her, and held on tight, speaking with a growling tone.

"Who are you, and what do you want from me."

What the ********? Why was it that every time they were separated, he always got jumped by her in a fit of confused rage?

He laughed and pressed his hand against one of the arms restricting him. "Well I was wanting a hug or kiss or something." he said turning his head a little in her direction. "If this is your idea of a hug, the point is to show affection, not restrict the person in a death grip."

He managed to wriggle himself free from her grasp and dust his clothes off. He then turned to her and gave a big smile. "I found yoooooou!"

"Well I was wanting a hug or kiss or something."

"Eh?"

Symptom paused for a moment, loosening her grip on the person she was
holding, whilst listening a little more closely to what seemed to be a familiar
voice.

"If this is your idea of a hug, the point is to show affection, not restrict the
person in a death grip."

"Cyanide?" She muttered under her breath,
allowing the stranger to wriggle free from her grasp as she took a moment to
take in the sight before her. It was his smile that gave him away, even in the
darkness it seemed to light up the room. Though of course she'd never say
that out loud...

"I found yoooooou!""

Symptom grinned back, instantly jumping forward, wrapping her arms around
him, this time in a more affectionate embrace.

"Missed yoooou!" She replied, parroting Cyanide's
tone as she gave him a light squeeze and a peck on the cheek before
stepping back still grinning. "Can we not get separated
again? Not gonna to lie... it sucks."
she said, taking a moment to
switch the lights back on in the bunker.

Cyanide couldn't help but blush a little when Symptom kissed him on the cheek.
He was happy that she was glad to see him.
As the lights came back on, he got a good look at her.
Still beautiful as always.

"You know, I agree. Every time we get separated, I feel like I go a little bit crazier each time." he said winking at her.
"Well, since we're together again, what shall we do first?"

The trip had left him a little bored and full of energy to burn.
After a few months of being away, he was ready for some adventures in the Zones.

"Well..." Symptom paused, tossing the idea of staying out for a few days in the
bunker to the side. Cyanide was right to want to get back to their usual
antics. What was life as a killjoy if all they did was sit back and do nothing?
"...there's always zone 4?" she finished, smiling slyly as she reminded
herself about the news report she'd heard a few days ago.

Symptom stepped back and put her hand out to take Cyanide's as she
continued to speak. "Rumour has it some killjoys fitting the description
of our friends, were spotted there a few days ago."
she started, allowing
her gaze to move up from Cyanide's hand before meeting his eyes. "But, I
don't know about you... But I'd like to get a good night's sleep before I
go galavanting about the desert again. It's been a long walk getting here.
A long walk without anything caffeinated to keep me moving."
With
that she dropped his hand and turned back towards the studio and her make
shift chair. Symptom turned right around on the ball of her foot and allowed
herself to collapse into the heap of cardboard on the floor. "I'm shattered."

Cyanide smiled at the idea of finding their
friends and even blushed a little at Symptom grabbing his hand.
But of course he snapped out of his little trance and realized he may
have been energetic, but he hadn't slept in a few days.

"Well I was hoping we'd get naked..." he mumbled.
"Sleep sounds great."
He then sat back against a wall close to Symptom's
makeshift cardboard bed.

He smiled and closed his eyes. He really missed this girl, and was glad that he was under the same roof as her once again.

Symptom smiled slightly as she heard Cyanide mumble something, and raised
her eyebrow quizzically in response. Maintaining her expression, she watched
as he settled himself down against the wall to her side. Shuffling over to his
side, leaving her makeshift bed, she deliberately set her hand by his side,
almost as if to confirm she wasn't going anywhere. She didn't know why she
felt the need to do it, but considering how dangerous these places could be, it
seemed appropriate.

"Maybe we could stick to... hugging for warmth, and see where it takes us?"
she replied quietly, after his statement about getting some sleep, shortly
followed by him closing his eyes. With that she settled herself next to him,
allowing her head to rest on his shoulder. She knew the nights could get cold,
and what kind of hostess would she be if she wasn't going to share the only
warmth in that place, her own.

"G'night, Sunshine." She smiled, finally closing her own eyes, content in the
idea that she wasn't going to be losing Cyanide again any time soon. Whilst
she'd never admit to it out loud, she really depended on him for something
she hadn't quite figured out yet. Either way, she was just glad he'd found her
again.

Cyanide opened one eye when he felt Symptom get closer to him.

"Maybe we could stick to... hugging for warmth, and see where it takes us?"

When he heard this he couldn't help but smile. "Sounds good." he said wrapping his arms around her. He didn't know what it was about this girl. He was just a crazy, kamakazi that found his way through the desert on his own.
Why was it that now, almost a year after they met, he couldn't even be away from her for a mere second?
His disregard for himself and everyone around him had
subsided greatly.

"G'night, Sunshine."

"Goodnight gorgeous."

Symptom didn't get much sleep last night. Instead she'd spent a lot
of time simply watching. Watching Cyanide, smiling as she realised their
breathing had already synchronized since last night. Watching the door,
knowing full well that this was all far too perfectly quiet. Sure, they were
pretty deep in the zones, but that hadn't stopped the Drac's before - and as a
Killjoy, there was no way for Symptom to switch off that thing in her head
which always kept her on edge, even if this was the safest she'd felt in a long
while.

When she finally saw sunlight through the crack of the door, Symptom slowly
edged herself away from Cyanide, and walked quietly over to the station so
she could start a morning broadcast. Not wanting to wake her sweetheart,
she decided this broadcast would be sent out in morse code,
indistinguishable to most as it was quite outdated, but at least she could
send the message quietly that the two intended to travel to zone four, and for
others to meet them there.

After a few minutes of sending the broadcast, Symptom returned to Cyanide's
side, lifting his arm over her shoulder once again as she assumed her
previous position. Hopefully later that day, they'd find the others who they
used to share their adventures with. It would be nice considering how long it
had been since they last exchanged communications.

Treble Tank rubbed her eyes and rolled over in her van, she'd stopped somewhere off the main road for an hour or two for a quick nap. After finding that there might be more killjoys roaming the area she wanted to track some down, and maybe find old friends. Shrugging back into her jacket, she slinked into the front seat, flipping on the radio as she settled in, to be greeted by a string of morse code. Clear as day, the boops and beeps were a definite indication of somebody close. Still half asleep, the killjoy hurled herself at the glove compartment getting a pen and pencil at lightning speed and decoding as much as she could of what she caught.

"~~~~HEADEDTOZONEFOUR~~~~~~FRIENDLYFACESFEEL~~~~TOJOIN~~.DON'TWORRY.WE'REARENOTINTROUBLE.
I'MSEND~INGTHISINMORSE~~~ALITTLESOMETHINGTOKILLTHETIMEW~~~WAITFORMISTERTHRUSTST
OWAKEUP.HAHA.SYMPTOMOUT."

She gasped, looking down at what she had decoded as the radio fell back into static. Oh my god, she thought, they're alive! Giggling and bouncing in her seat with joy, Treble Tank cranked the engine and set off roaring through the desert as a smile cracked her face in half. She was so close, just outside of Zone Four!

Suddenly realizing something, Treble looked down at herself, goodness her clothes were awfully dusty and sweaty and gross. Frowning she pulled over to the side of the road, and threw off everything in favor of something cleaner. There wasn't much to be done about hair...but there was always insta-clean. A bizarre canned shampoo that really only succeeded in making it slightly less disgusting. With a shrug she sprayed some in and ruffled herself up, checking in the mirror and seeing the blue was still vibrant. Smiling at her more or less better reflection in the tiny mirror, Treble let out another shriek of joy and jumped back into the drivers seat. Slamming in a favorite tape of Iggy Pop, she bounced miles down the road, and sending out signals as she got closer and closer.

Sunshine fiddled with the knobs on the radio in her little shack, too tired to do much of anything else. She had already played through the box of CDs she had found, and there wasn't much else to do. Suddenly, she heard a strange series of sounds coming from someone's station.
"The ********> she muttered under her breath, turning up the volume to hear better. It suddenly hit her.
"Morse code? Well, if that isn't archaic, I don't know what is."
She started scratching the code into the dust on the floor in front of her as fast as possible, knowing she was still missing a huge chunk of the transmission. She only knew a few letters, but she got the gist of the message.
"Erm... 'one four... join... trouble... Wait no, that's a 'not' there... Someone's in Zone Four and looking for people to join up with? That's fairly convenient." Grabbing her small duffel bag and stashing her gun and a couple CDs inside, along with her radio equipment and a change of socks, she dashed out the door. The other things she left behind could sit tight while she was gone. Looking at her crappy old rust-cycle in disdain, she hopped on the tattered seat and pedaled as fast as she could. Finally, something to do!

Somewhere in the depths of zone four, a young girl was in the midst of a situation that she would definitely not consider to be ideal. She'd been caught looting one of the Drac's vans, and needless to say, they weren't all that impressed. She'd been running for about half an hour now cradling as many tins as she could in her arms, and whilst the Drac's couldn't be seen behind her, she knew full well they'd be setting on their way soon. She'd stolen from them after all, that and she was hardly swallowing down pills like the rest of the drugged up population within the city walls.

Axel Flourish was a killjoy, a mechanic by trade, with black and blue hair falling alongside her cheek bones, and a tool belt around her waist. Her strengths were her speed and agility, whilst her weaknesses was her lack of tact and poor use of logic. She was pretty much dead meat on her own, but after falling out with her old comrades, she was defiantly not going to admit it. She was far too proud for that.

To most, Axel looked like the kind of girl who could handle herself, but again they would be wrong. She was good at looking dangerous, but that was her only form of defence. Like a ladybird glowing red to warn predators away, she was pretty harmless up close. This is why running was such an important tool of hers.

Finally, Axel made her way round the back of an abandoned building, concealing herself in the early morning shadows created by an old skip. Hopefully they'd have stopped following her by now... Failing that, she'd have to think of a plan, and fast.

As Sunshine biked down the dirt road, her handlebars suddenly came right out from the front end of the bike, sending her and her few belongings flying. Several curses streamed from her lips as she picked up her bags and CDs and quite forcefully hurled the handlebars into the desert, kicking the now utterly useless mode of transport angrily.
"Goddam bike... Now my socks are all ripped and my knees are bleeding. ******** brilliant..." Thankful that she had packed the extra pair of socks to begin with, she pulled off the tattered ones and ripped them into bandages, tying the cloth into big bows around her knees before pulling the new socks on. That dealt with, she began to walk, leaving the decrepit rust-cycle behind.
Seeing an old and abandoned building in the distance, she began to jog towards it. She had been biking all morning, and it was still very cold out. She honestly didn't feel like being frozen to death in the middle of the desert, as ironic as it would be. Sunshine loved irony like a Drac loved meds, but sometimes it was best to go without.
She approached the building cautiously, gun in hand and set to stun. She shuffled around the wall quietly, but there was no tell-tale signs of any Dracs about.
"Oi! I know someone's there! Show yourself or get yourself a little taste of lazer!"
She was bluffing, of course. She had no clue if anyone was actually behind the building. If there wasn't she'd only look a little silly and wouldn't have any witnesses, but if there was then she'd at least look like she was tough and could hold her own.
