She....she was still nervous, still scared of everything that had happened. While there had not been Hunters there (thank Jack for that or Chuppi would have just left the school) whatever had come from the sky had certainly been enough to rattle the already fragile nerves of the little monster. She liked to think that none of this would change her more than it already had, she didn't need to grow paranoid anymore and leave those she loved in a state of worry, but with all the incidents happening she wondered if coming to the school or staying at the school had been a good idea.
There was no point in dwelling on it at the moment however, as she was waiting at the track field for something to happen. She'd wandered down without thinking, perhaps to be reminded that she needed to actually do something about the place, and as she kicked a few rocks here and there she idly touched at the still-healing cuts and scrapes. It would have been better if they'd come from her getting injured on the track field, and for some silly reason that actually sounded like a good idea.
Not injuring herself of course, but just moving. Running and jumping always seemed to soothe her mind (she'd actually almost forgotten that this was the place she was rejected by Tybalt), and Chuppi reached down and pulled off the skull that held onto her false!form. She felt like running in her natural state after that whole incident with the globe, and as she shifted and her tail sprung out she gave a roar.
This was going to be fun, somehow.

Soft cursing could be heard in the distance as Nuru rounded the corner of a building and proceeded down a path that ran parallel to the track. Long floppy ears held up about as high as they could go as he held a large map up the other way and then glanced around it at his surroundings for comparison. Frowning to himself as it seemed things didn't quite measure up as intended. He stopped and turned the map the other way this time in the same futile gesture - only this time motion caught his eye.
Folding the map in half he decided to leer at the source of the commotion a bit more intensely. Looooking to his left, theeeen to his right before hunkering down bodily - ditching the noisy crinkly map in his wake as he attempted to approach unnoticed.

Running was always so exhilarating, with the pumping of adrenaline through her viens and the feel of the wind against her flesh. On all fours Chuppi moved around the track at a surprising speed for something so bulking and ill-equipped to deal with wind resistance. Her quills were dragging against her back as she moved, making her slower than she should have been, and by the time the monster rounded the corner she pushed herself suddenly upright and into a jump.
It took her high into the sky, far higher than something as small as she should have been able to jump, and she landed with a heavy thud back onto her legs. Her tail slapped the ground as she gave herself an approved whistle, pleased that picking up all the speed had given her the boost she needed. It felt wonderful and she was happy and she . . .
. . . .was totally being watched.
Almost instantly the Chupacabra dropped down into a ball and spread her quills, wondering just what the heck was viewing her. She couldn't tell too well from where she was (and her vision was poor anyway - she mostly used her eyes to just focus on things and not at a distance) so hopefully being all spiny would make them think she wasn't worth eating or attacking.

Nuru was absolutely rapt with excitement at watching her run and then practically fly across the track. Best of all though, she seemed to be having the time of her life. His eyes unblinking as they took it all in... until... and there is always an until... she seemed to spot him.
He drooped in every sense of the word. Jack damn it. Why did she have to have such a keen intuition? Regardless however, he proceeded at a leisurely pace in attempt to properly approach her. Within feet of her defensively curled up spiny body.
"...excuse me?" He asked with a light accent.

Chuppi didn't respond at first, instead curling herself tighter, but when her brain reminded her that it was really rude to ignore someone when they sounded nice and not like they were going to be mean to her she poked her head out from beneath her spine-covered shell. Bright red eyes seemed to be swirling in her head as she looked the newcomer up and down, deciding if she had seen him before or not. Judging by how he'd addressed her and from the accent she didn't know they were strangers, and the monster thought about hiding herself again.
She didn't though, a sign that she was attempting to grow braver, and she fully unwrapped herself as she pushed to her feet. Even in her natural form she was still her ever tiny 2' 7" self, and her tail thumped the ground behind her to give her a chance at gaining her balance. It was weird to have her tail back but the feeling was wonderful.
"How may I help you?" If this stranger's accent was light, Chuppi's was very thick and heavy with Spanish intonations. Her tone was weird as well, as if she couldn't control it or her volume, and each syllable seemed to be hissed upon.

He quietly observed her unfurling, his own bright red glowing eyes intensely locked on her every little movement. He seemed to relax as she was fully revealed again. Her "coming out of her shell" was a curiosity in and of itself. He hasn't seen anyone yet with that ability and tiiiilted his head to the side at her, floppy ears perked again at her words.
"Oh. Hi. Ahm looking for t'cafeteria?" He asked while leaaaaning in to try and get a better look at the look on her face to make sure he wasn't creeping them out too terribly... all while twitching his nose everrr so slightly to try and catch her scent.

"The cafeteria? Tu no sabes? You don't know?" This person had to be new then, to not know where the central hubbub of food was. Chuppi didn't venture to the cafeteria often because she could always get her food elsewhere (not to mention people seemed to enjoy feeding her), but she at least had the knowledge of where it was located. If this person was asking it also meant they wanted her to show them, right? Being friendly wasn't a scary thing, and Chuppi did have a fondness for dog students. Not that she would openly admit anymore, not at least right now. She still needed a bit of time on that.
Getting more to her feet she swayed a bit, her tail swishing back and forth behind her. She closed her eyes and sighed, wondering if she should shift back, when she opened them and looked him over. Was something wrong with his face? Did he need to sneeze? "Estas bien? You okay? You look like you are to sneezing."

"No. No Ah don't." He frowned. At least he didn't look like he was starving to... double death. Either he arrived that day or he found an alternative in the meantime.
"Ahm new here." Well, at least that was one fact confirmed.
Still... he gave her a very... puzzled look. At first for the other language she seemed to be speaking intermittently but then even more at her remark about his face. At least the confused look didn't linger as his thoughts wandered off to try and determine what she meant when it suddenly occurred to him.
"OH! I was sniffing?" He sounded more like he was asking as that would quickly become past tense if she were offended by it. He was trying so hard to be polite. As polite as he was capable anyway.

"Oh, I see! Are you testing the air then? I can do that too, with my nose. But not in this form, in the false one. Like this I have using my tongue." Chuppi opened her mouth somewhat and a long, lizard-like tongue slid itself out and into the air. It whipped around, much as snake's tongue would, before popping back into her jaws. "I also can sniff much, but mostly it is blood."
She didn't really need her nose or tongue to find blood though, her eyes did it plenty well enough. Her ears helped too with the beating of hearts, but she wasn't nearly as skilled at such things like her older siblings or her parents. Being at the school was dulling her senses and that worried the chupacabra. Shaking her head though she tried to clear her thoughts so she could help out. This person was new after all and had run into her so the best thing she could do was help, right?
"If it would make you happy and help, I can show you where it is? I do not mind doing so."

"Ah guess you could say that." Nuru said as he watched her with idle amusement. Expecting to see and his silent wish was soon granted with a curious flourish of tongue. His head tiiillled to the side as he watched her.
"Can you still smell with a cold?" He couldn't resist asking. It was a curiosity though that needed attention.
But then the subject suddenly shifted back, making the boil smile rather huge with delight.
"Yes! YES! Ahm so hungry Ah could eat a nightmare!" He licked his lips as if the verbal remark wasn't enough for her to get the hint.

"Eat a nightmare?" What did that even mean? Chuppi moved over towards the dog, her steps awkward and her movement more like that of a kangaroo, one of those creatures from the human world. Her tail was lifting itself up as she moved rather than being dragged, and soon she was over at what looked like a mound of clothing. The monster bent down and fished for something, a skull pin when she found and held it up, and she snapped it against her head. Almost instantly her body shimmer and shifted leaving behind a naked false formed little girl. "As for when cold, maybe? I do not think it has been cold ever here, not since the fake snow?"
The time when the school had gotten trapped had been bad, the play. Chuppi remembered that with a shudder, those horrible memories and feelings. She had hated it all so badly and didn't like thinking it back up. "But um, anyway, we shall go and I will show you. I have been a few times only so forgive me when we might get lost."

"Yes! A great big huge nightmare. T'whole thing!" He practically cheered his reply before falling silent again to watch her hobble over and - JACK. She's flipping nude.
He should have known but it had never occurred to him. Still, she startled the living daylights out of him. Not that he looked away respectfully. Just stared with those big red glowing eyes. Stared unblinkingly as she got dressed and seemed to continue the conversation right over his head. He didn't seem to snap out of it until she was dressed and started talking about the cafeteria again.
"O-oh. Yeah. We shall, please?" He stuttered a bit awkwardly. Not that he was embarrassed or shy. Just caught off guard a bit. Really.
"Lead the way!" He cheered her on with a lot more confidence.

"I was unaware nightmares could be eaten, are they tasty?" Chuppi snapped the last bit of clothing onto her body and stood up properly, her hair fanning about her. It would take too long to put it back into a braid so she simply let it hang about her shoulders - not that anyone would care or notice. Hair was hair and it was something she didn't have in her natural form so....anyway.
She was sort of thinking still about nightmares when she started to walk, her steps unsteady since it took her a bit to get used to not having her tail again. Switching was fun but it was also a hard time adjusting back and forth. When would it be when she could use her tail full time? When she graduated and returned home? Not a bad thought there but the idea of home was unsettling. Ugh, maybe she'd be best to stick with this for now.
"Um, so. . . the cafeteria, most of the food is cheap or free? I do not eat there often so I cannot say or remember much about it."

"It... it's just a saying. Ah don't eat people." He stammered thoughtfully as he followed after her.
He looked around as they went, clearly attempting to commit the way to memory - especially if it came with free food. His absolute favourite kind of food. he hoped that had lots and lots of bat jerky so Zar could quit bitching about him eating his entire stash.
"Ah hope it's free. Ahm not the richest boil in t'school and ah don't think ah could afford to buy t'amount of food ah'd need to be fully satisfied." At least he was almost always honest.

"Nightmares are people? Oh, oh, you are speaking of Mares!" It had taken the monster a little too much time to figure out, and even thing her knowledge on Mares was at the fringe levels. She could only assume that was what he meant and she hoped it was anyway since, well, that was the limit of her knowledge. She really, really needed to keep trying to learn more.
"Um, if it is not free I can buy for you this time?"
