User ImageThe day was warm, the sun high in the sky. Gentle waves washing upon the shores where one would cross them, a breeze accompanying them cooled the air just a bit. It had been a rough storm, the debris from it was littering the ground, washing up from the lakes and oceans to the shores. Occasionally one could find bits of an abandoned dwelling laying upon the ground or falling from where it had once stood.

It was in the midst of this mess Harveer stood, looking around. Such damage.. He didn't like it at all, there wasn't a doubt in his mind that something wasn't right about it either. He had heard of this place called HQ, when he was finally allowed out it was nothing more than rubble. The male had to wonder exactly what all the fuss about the place was, rubble wasn't really all that fun..

He sighed, running a blue hand through his hair. Hopefully there weren't any pae or anything hurt in all this mess. Someone would have been insane to not seek shelter in the recent storms.. Wait a moment, was that rock moving?

Sure enough, that rock was moving, although not on its own of course. If the pae moved slightly around the rock he would see a mass of bright green and purple. Lillison, being behind the rock, was completely unaware that someone was standing behind it. She was busy digging away at the sand underneath it. That's why the rock was moving, because of the sand shifting beneath it. Honestly, it was probably rather dangerous for Lillison to be sitting under a large rock that was unstable like this.

Lillison coughed as she accidentally inhaled an amount of sand and sat back, admiring the hole she had dug, while clearing out her lungs. This would be a good place to bury her treasure until she could come back to it... Lillison looked out at the waters and sighed. They were calm now, but during the storm they had been crazy, she found herself afraid to go back. A fish afraid of the water, oh, she really was pathetic.

Harveer blinked, seeing it shift more. What the world was that? The teenager tilted his head, taking a few cautious steps forward. "Hello?" He called, hoping it wasn't one of those beasts they had taught him to fight.

Well the sand could mean whatever it was behind the rock was hiding something at least. What or why was a different story though. He frowned a bit, still reaching forward for the moving rock. The sand beneath it shifted, and the rock almost fell over. With a grunt, Harveer moved to stop the rock from crushing anything that might be on the other side

Lillison noticed the rock preparing to fall for her and she tried to scramble awkwardly out of its way (she still wasn't used to having these legs or being on the land). "Oh dear!" she called out and winced when the rock suddenly stopped in its tracks. Lillison opened her eyes wider and peered up at the blue boy who had seemingly saved her life. "Oh!" she exclaimed scrambling once again so that she could sit on her knees. "Thank you." she told him once she had gained some composure. She probably wouldn't have died if the rock had fallen, but she certainly would have broken something and knew it was better to be grateful then frightened by the angel boy. Under normal circumstances she would've been scared of him. Of course, now the rock was firmly nested into the hole she had been digging. It wasn't a bother though, she could leave the treasure for someone else to stumble upon just as she had. "Who are you?" she asked.

Harveer shrugged a bit, smiling. "The Guardian's would not want you with them before your time." He said, as if it explained every reason he might have for saving her. Harveer hadn't even realized he'd forgotten to introduce himself to the girl..

It was then that his eyes followed her form. No wings? And gills on her ribs.. This must be one of those naiads that he'd been taught about. The teen fought to keep a frown off his face. She was gorgeous, but she was a naiad. Something he'd been taught was a liar from the start for calling themselves an ancient race. The thought of it made him laugh. The only ancient ones were the guardian's themselves!

"Greetings, I am Harveer." He tried to keep his tone polite, hoping it worked.

The Guardians? Lillison was confused, and it was something that could easily be read on her face. None of what he had just said made much sense to her. Lillison lived a fairly isolated existence in the ocean, not even interacting with other Naiads, mostly spending her days traveling with a school of fish.

Lillison could feel the boys eyes tracing her body and her cheeks flushed. She had already learned from her first interaction with a faun that she looked different, but the angel boy was definitely more similar looking to her legged form then the faun was. Lillison just didn't have wings, not that she was jealous of them or anything.

He sounded incredibly formal, considering he was just a boy. "Harveer, thank you for catching that rock. You must be incredibly strong." She complemented him. "I'm Lillison... what is the Guardians?" she asked him awkwardly. Lillison was already used to being taught new things by the land-dwellers, but she felt like something like this should be obvious even to her, she wasn't sure why.

She was confused? He couldn't figure out why, everything he had said had been perfectly clear hadn't it? Of course she blushed not so soon after his mental scan of her.. A nice distraction, it looked good on her.. Harveer snapped himself out of it, now wasn't the time to go on about her looks.

"I'm not that strong, I just knew where to push to keep it upright.." He shrugged, briefly wondering why he hadn't used his guardian given power. It would have been a bit faster, though it was a large rock, she might have been smushed if the barrier didn't hold it back..

She was asking what the guardians were? Oh Guardians, she might be saved! The thought brought a smile to his face, perhaps it looked a bit creepy but he was a fanatic over the guardians. They were after all, the reason he was going through all of this.

"The Guardians are supreme beings, like gods. They're always visible, but you can feel them in your heart.." No need to mention they chose 10 of his friends to help defend them, "They know what to do when no one else does, they help you when you're in trouble. The Guardian's..." He went on like this for a good fifteen minutes or so, rambling about what they are and how amazing he believes them to be.

(/cop out for the rambling part. I'm no good at faith speeches)

So far, Lillison had been more outgoing, more brave, then normal. This boy had saved her life, it seemed there was no need to be frightened. However, seeing the smile on his face, she almost wondered if she should be worried. Lillison wished she could take a step back, give some more space between the two of them, but she was still sitting on her knees and an awkward step back on her knees would be way too obvious. So she got off her knees and sat down on her bottom. The movement was enough to put an extra foot or 2 between them, but it looked like she was just changing positions, getting off her knees.

Then he started his ramble... she listened attentively for most of it. She had never heard anyone go on about anything for that long. She would interrupt him every once in awhile with a question, that he was quick to answer. Though the questions weren't very complicated, imagine if Lillison had asked him why they allowed the great storm to happen, but Lillison didn't think that way. Lillison wasn't sure if she could necessary feel their existence though. Perhaps, she had lived so long without knowing that she was used to the feeling that something might be missing... "Its an interesting thought..." she finally said after there was not much more to be said. Lillison was not really sure what to do with all this information.

He grinned from ear to ear, answering all of her questions. Harveer was pleased with how well he'd managed to convey what he believed the guardians to be. Though her reaction to it all was less than satisfactory, she should be overwhelmed with joy, wanting to worship The Guardians immediately..

The teen's grin turned to a very small frown, wondering what was going through her mind. "Do you not feel their presence around you?" He asked, curious. Were all the abominations like that? This could be a good chance to get a bit of research on the abominations. See what went through their minds, how they thought things worked no matter how wrong they were.

Lillison could see that she had let the boy down with her reaction, and she felt bad. All that he was saying just seemed like too much for her simple way of life though. She could just comfort him and pretend that she felt their presence for his sake, but somehow that felt wrong to do. "I'm sorry, I suppose I don't even know what it would feel like." she apologized to him trying to explain her side, and why it didn't come so easy to her as it did to him.

"How do you know all this?" it felt odd to question his faith, but she really was curious about how a young adult would know so much about something like this. "Do all land-dwellers believe like you?"

He was grateful she didn't lie to make him believe she could feel their presence at least. Harveer just smiled at her, "I'm sorry I pushed it down your throat. I forget not everyone feels as strongly as I do." He rubbed the back of his neck a bit in nervousness.

Then she questioned his faith. Well it was a good question, offending but a good one. Where did he know all of this from? Well the answer was easy enough, but how to phrase it so he didn't let slip who he really was.. The teenager continued to smile, thinking quick for a good answer.

"I had a rather passionate teacher. I doubt many land pae believe the way I do." And for the most part, it was true. He was closer to the guardians than anyone that hadn't been raised in the city he knew of.. Granted that wasn't many at all, but the point remained.

It was certainly something for her to think about. If anything, what he had said seemed to explain a lot of the unexplainable, although they were questions she hadn't really thought to ask. "Don't apologize, you weren't really being that pushy." Lillison tried to reassure the teen.

"I'm not saying that you're wrong, I just don't know." It was odd to admit that she didn't know. Especially to a teenager, she was an adult afterall, she should know these things. "Well your teacher taught you well, you're certainly knowledgeable, even if I am unsure." Lillison nestled herself into the warmth of the sand, trying to relax.

He smiled a bit, rubbing his neck. "Are you uncomfortable sitting like that?" Harveer asked, shifting in his own sandy seat. Somewhere along his rant about how wonderful The Guardians are, he'd taken a seat. It wasn't training, he was allowed after all.

"We could get up and find something a bit more comfortable if you'd prefer?" He had no idea his words even had the possibility of meaning anything else. If she inferred anything from it, well.. He'd figure that out if it happened.

"Not horribly uncomfortable..." Lillison responded, "Its worse to just be standing up all the time, I don't know how you pae do it." The fact that he had taken a seat though, he must have been tired of standing as well. "Like where?" she asked him, "I don't really know the island too well, this is only really my second time venturing out here... well its still part of my first time up here, I've only been dipping into the water occasionally." Lillison looked back at the rocking seas, the storm had really been pretty devastating, maybe it hadn't taken her home, but it certainly had made her home seem like a scary place.

He just smiled, listening to her. It was interesting information to learn more about these weird abominations. "I'm just used to standing is all." Harveer shrugged it off, letting Lillison speak longer.

"I passed some forests on the way to this beach.." He suggested, not at all part of his own plot to explore the woods. He'd only a slight amount of a clue that this wasn't the nasty forest they'd been told to avoid. The hint was that there was no evil aura floating around it, thank the guardians.
