Otea had gotten into scuffles before, but none this bad. After she had been traveling through the desert (mostly having been a very unsuccessful journey), she find herself weaker. Apparently, being a rogue wasn’t the easiest of lives to endure.

But that wasn’t the reason she was so bad off. Her younger cousin, the one she had left on the prideland borders so she could do her own adventure, was the one who had made her this way. She had some bleeding scratches, likely some black and blue bruises underneath the now dust covered fur. The pelt that was once in pristine condition showed wear and tear from the life in the roguelands. All in all, Otea looked like a mess. It was no wonder she wanted to head back to her homelands, where the only danger she would have to face is running into half her family on a daily basis.

The only problem was that in her condition now. She was vulnerable to any sort of attack lion or not. Pride rock wasn’t that far from where she was currently, she only hoped in her state she’d be able to limp there without making too much of a scene.

Imre wanted to stretch as the morning hit. He was always an early-waker, taking time to soak in the lovely morning colors before the sun reach that certain point every day where it just made everything bright.

The sun being up meant one thing, it was time to head out! However, he found himself snuggled warmly next to Atilla, a paw drifting right over his back.

Shaking his head, icy blue eyes stared over to Atilla, still sleeping. The lion could sleep through anything.

Part of the darker male wanted him to just let the lion sleep. He had been through a lot recently with meeting his family back in the Kusini lands, so he deserved it. But the logical side of Imre told him he needed to wake him up now, so they could start their day. Early bird catches the worm, right?

Nudging Atilla slightly, the male waiting for any signs of movement. When he saw none, he gave the coffee colored male a little ‘love-n**’ on his ear. That should wake him.

Humusi lounged on a large slab of rock, smiling as he enjoyed the morning sunshine. Lately life had been pretty interesting, he'd finally been able to make same friends in the pridelands! Not that he lacked friends before... but seriously, who still considered their family as friends at his age? His thoughts were on a certain rogue though, more than on the lions he'd met within the borders. He wondered briefly where she was, and how she was doing.

Atilla felt warm and happy, very safe. It'd been a little weird the past few days. He had convinced Imre to stay in the Kusini lands for a while, so he could have some more time with his uncle. He'd found his uncle to be very agreeable company, and both of the like-colored lions had shared stories and tales about their lives back and forth. But Atilla was creeped out by all of the similarities they shared. Not in an entirely bad way, he just didn't realize he could be so like anyone on the planet! He didn't even think his personality was that close to his mother's or father's! But now he knew why his mum spoke about her brother so fondly, they seemed similar to Atilla. Still, they'd left after only two days and had ventured back into the rogue lands.

He never wanted to wake up in the mornings, it was much nicer to sleep in until the sun really started cooking your back. But at the light little n** on his ear his eyes fluttered open. Oh? Was Imre feeling frisky? That was rare! He groaned and stretched out his limbs slowly, then rolled to his back, still pressed lightly against his companion. "Hmmm, yeh sure know'ow teh get a guy energized in the mornin' Imre." He grinned playfully.

The sight of Pride Rock in the distance made a little hope for Otea yet. She had managed to ignore any passerbys who gave her the strange looks as she limped by. She seemed out of the woods until she heard the sounds of others speaking back and forth. It wouldn’t have been so bad for Otea then, if it hadn’t been two male voices. She had to put her guard up ever more now that she could do absolutely nothing to protect herself. Fighting and running were both out of the question.

“Only you would say that, sleepy head. Come on, time to get up!” Imre stated, rising to his feet with a bit of difficulty. After all, Atilla’s weight was partly on him.

The plans on the agenda was actually nothing. Both of the lions had vowed not to head back to the pride they were born in. Imre didn’t ask, but he knew Atilla didn’t want to return there. Honoring his friend’s request, both would be looking elsewhere for a pride. If they didn’t find anything that caught their interests, he was sure Atilla wouldn’t mind living in the lands they had just left. Who knew, he might actually like that.

A few minutes later, (when Atilla actually got up and started walking), a scent of dirt and blood hit his nostrils. It wasn’t something that was of a dying prey animal, but someone who was injured. He giving a questioning gaze to the coffee colored male, wondering if he too scented that.

What would he do with the rest of his day? There were a lot of options, from swimming to cub sitting or even his duty; hunting. He didn't really like the idea of hunting, it wasn't something he was very skilled at and therefore it wasn't very enjoyable. Ah, a walk would suffice until he could decide.

He rose and stretched out his front paws, whistling slightly as he headed further away from pride rock, though he was still in his homelands.

He snorted and rolled his eyes, sticking his tongue out at Imre. He wanted desperately to go back to the nice warm confines of slumber, but because he'd received such a nice wake-up call he would humor Imre, until he could convince the other that a rest was in order. For once they didn't really have a destination in mind, which was lucky because Atilla wouldn't have the constant reminders that he was 'headed the wrong way' from Imre.

It took him a little longer to take in the odd scents, so caked with sleep were his senses. But when he did and he met Imre's gaze he frowned. "Smells like some'un is 'urt nearby." Stating the obvious, something Atilla was very good at. "Wanna go take a look?" He shifted his gait toward the scent, gaze flickering over the land. The injured party probably wouldn't be too far off.

Imre nodded. Of course he wanted to take a look. The lion was one of those types to make sure if someone was okay, even if they were hostile towards him.

He spotted the lioness in question, who seemed to be bloodied, beaten, but was able to move nonetheless. “Found her.” He stated obviously, nudging the coffee colored male in the direction of the lighter female. “Let’s see how she is…but probably should show her we mean no harm? She looks like she’s been through hell and back.” Imre moved slowly over to the female, making sure she could see the two of them easily.

Otea did see the two, and the fur on the back of her neck rose. “Stay away,” she hissed, trying to put up the best front she could. It was failing.

The cream colored female took a moment to look at the two males. Both of different pelt, though one of them was just as dark as her sister. Those bright blue eyes were something that she couldn’t forget though. Part of her wondered if she was related to him too, but the subtle difference of the almost bluish tint in the pelt was something she knew her family didn’t have.

Ah, she wasn't far away, as they'd concluded. Atilla's mouth parted slightly, but it was one of those rare times where no words came out. When he was nudged forward he frowned at the other, but then softened his expression as he looked back to the female. "Dunnu, if yer beat like tha' than I doubt yeh wan' anythin' teh do with trustin' strangers." Or maybe she was caught in a stampede? Fell from something? No, those looked like marks and scars you earned in a fight. A fairly one-sided fight.

As they continued forward she suddenly hissed out words of warning to them, and Atilla stopped obligingly. "Yeh look mighty'urt, miss. We do no mean no 'arm." He spoke quietly and gently, as one usually does when talking to cubs or the sick. He gave a questioning glance to Imre, wondering what they could do to prove this. "Er... we though' maybe yeh could use some 'elp, not often a lone lion can survive hurt as yeh be lookin'." He looked slowly around, keeping his distance. "Per'aps yeh 'ave some companions we could fetch, close by?"

Humusi gave a deep sigh, tail flicking in bordom. He still couldn't make up his mind what to do... maybe he should venture out into the rogue lands again? That was his best bet of running into Samehe again.. or maybe she'd went on her way and he'd never see her again? That was a pity, he'd grown rather fond of her in their short time together. It had been hard to get her to open up just a little... but ever since he did it was like he thirsted to know more about her.

His ears perked up though and he frowned deeply. That voice, he knew that voice! And they were yelling! That couldn't be good! But could it really be his sister? Last he'd checked she'd left on her own to explore different prides or something... it didn't matter! He began to race past the borders as fast as he could. "OTEA?" He shouted, trying to find where she was.

Imre stood a little behind Atilla, assessing the situation. He then turned his eyes to the area, noticing the large rock formation not too far off. A pride had to be nearby, what sort of lion wouldn’t take up home in something so big.

His attention turned backed towards the female, nodding as he agreed with what Atilla said. “One of us could stay here with you…make sure no one hurts you?” Imre offered.

Unfortunately, this thought didn’t seem to help settle Otea down. Instead, her ears seemed to pin back even more.

Otea froze when she heard the sound of someone calling her name nearby. It was something so familiar, yet like a few off memory. It wasn’t until she saw her frantic brother crossing the borders, heading towards her and the two males with such speed where she could relax a little more easily. With Humusi around, she was better off. If she couldn’t trust her cousins, she knew for sure she could trust her brother, even they weren’t super close.

“Humusi?” She whispered, turning her attention back to the two males. She still glared at them, hoping her brother would speed up just a little more.

Humusi snarled at the other males when he saw them so close to his sister, especially when he spied the state her body was in. In one bound he'd separated her from the two... rather oddly familiar looking strangers. Who stood tall and fierce, but he wasn't sure how long he could keep the act up. He certainly was no fighter! "What the hell did you do to her!" He snarled, then looked back to his sister.

"What happened? Can you walk? Did they do this?"

Atilla took a step back, eyes wide. Well... this was different. "Whoa, whoa! We did nae' do anythin' bu' ask if she wan'ed 'elp, calm yerself!" His words were almost frantic.

He looked back to the coffee pelted male, brow knitting. What the hell had he just said? Calm. Whoa. Naydue? What the hell was that, some sort of name? He shook his head, realizing they weren't a threat. They hadn't moved to attack... he needed to help his sister!

He turned away from the two and leaned down, pressing his forehead lightly and briefly against her own. "We need to get her back to the Pridelands. One of you help me lift her." He had no time to question motives, and really... Humusi was known as a trustful, easily forgiving lion.

“We didn’t touch hurt. We were just sleeping until we scented her in the area. We just wanted to help her, but it seems didn’t want to. I don’t blame her though,” Imre never spoke to strangers much, but when the confrontations by the other lion made him as the bad guy, he needed to defend himself and Atilla. They did nothing wrong, and were not going to be blame for a crime they hadn’t committed.

“I can walk…” She could, but it was with a significant limp and she would wince every now and then. “I don’t need their help…” She said quietly. “I just want to go home.”

Imre hesitated when Humusi told to help lift her. She wasn’t going to attack them he hoped, but he waited to see what Atilla would do. In the mean time, he asked Humusi:

“The Pridelands?” Ahah, he knew there was a pride nearby!
PostPosted: Wed Jan 11, 2012 11:50 am

"Barely, it seems." He spoke gently in response to his sister, but was worried. What had happened that caused her to shun these strangers who apparently only wanted to offer help? He glanced back to the two, frowning and clearly motioning with his head for one of them to come help! "At least come walk beside her, make sure she doesn't fall." He was leaning against her, supporting the side she was limping on. "Don't put so much pressure on it, I have you."

Atilla sighed but moved forward, on the other side of the female. At first he stayed a bit away, but as the small group of them walked he got a little closer. His ears flicked and he glanced back to Imre. Was his interest peaked? Though it would be nice to settle down somewhere permanently.

Humusi nodded. "Yes, the pridelands. Peaceful pride, you two will be welcome there. As visitors, as permanent members if you're looking for a place to stay." He continued to talk to them of the pridelands and what it was like while he lead them to the den area, introducing himself but leaving Otea's name out of it, whether they'd over heard him or not. He needed to find her medical help.

Imre nodded, doing as he was told. Perhaps he should walk beside Otea, and Atilla behind her? Or…second though, with the look that she gave him, he pushed Atilla up front next to the injured lioness while he trailed. It seemed whatever had happened to this lioness was something that could have been from a darker pelted creature. Imre would keep his distance unless it called for him.

“Sounds good. Perhaps once we get there we can look around. Atilla and I, (I’m Imre by the way), we…may be looking for something more permanent to stay. So, if it is okay with your pride leaders, and we seem to like it, we might stay.”He nodded.

Otea visibly cringed when she heard the words of the two males staying. More rogues she’d have to worry about. Whenever she would heal, she’d have to make sure to keep an eye out for anyone now. Who knew, maybe the Pridelands weren’t as safe. But now she had her brother by her side, and hopefully she could meet up with her mother or father soon too. She didn’t know what to tell them, or the reason she had left, but she had to speak with them.

All she knew was, she was glad to be home.
