The blackness of night was always a good time to move. The coolness that filled the air felt so much better than stifling heat of mid-day did even if the coolness could become more of a chill. Anything was better than the heat but Buluu usually didn't care which he was moving during as long as he was moving a making progress of some type.

Tonight Buluu was doing one of the few things he rarely ever got to do, just out right enjoying himself. His belly was full and he was walking under the full moon that hung above in the sky lighting the darkness in a way that made it tremendously easy to see anyone coming from any direction. He couldn't resist just checking out the land he was wandering in tonight and hoping he might spot a pretty cheetah lady while he was doing so.

This night would be an oh so perfect night to try his luck at catching a pretty cheetah lady's eye and having some romping fun with her while he was contented from his earlier meal and just full of energy that he had nothing to do with. His eyes wandered the lands as he continued his stroll and nothing was going to sneak past him if he had any say in it at all.

To Hoshi, any time was a good time to move. She loved to run, more than anything. Racing with others, solo marathons. Racing in the day was fun - you could make skidding clouds of dust, you could chase shadows of trees that moved in the wind, and you could time yourself by the sun. But it had one major downside - and that was the heat! Hoshi's fur was pretty short, not like the male lions (Maybe that was why they lay around so much? They should get shorter fur.) but she still got hot. So she'd decided to go for a dip in the water - splashing about and chasing the waterbirds. Only now it was nighttime and she was still damp.

So she was running about trying to get rid of the last vestiges of water from her fur, streaking across the plains a smile firmly on her muzzle.

Buluu's eyes were sharp and his senses honed in to catching anything moving around but even he had a hard time really telling what was running past. In the dark this creature seemed to blend right in except for stripes on it's back and yellow on it's tail. The creature was moving fast and as far as he could tell the creature was alone but he couldn't be sure from the distance he was. The night could easily play tricks and other creatures could be with this one. His curiousity is what got him. He had to check out this creature. He just hoped he could catch up.

Buluu went from standing still to running full out in mere seconds flat. His eyes were focused hard on the dark creature that was still running. He was nervous that if he took his eyes away the creature would be gone and he would never be able to find it again in the dark. He ran as fast as he could to get closer. The creatures speed was tough to out run to catch up but he was gaining on it. The closer he got the more he could see. The creature was one of his own kind and a female at that. Oh what luck he had!

He pushed himself faster to catch up and as he came within distance he shouted to her. "Hey what's your hurry!"
