Winter meant snow, and snow meant wet paws. And currently, ********* was suffering from the "Wet Paws Syndrome." It was extremely uncomfortable, since not only were her feet wet, but they were cold because of the cold icy substance covering the ground. People at least got shoes (though it would be ridiculous to see a cat walking about in little boots).
As a result, as the feline padded along during her journey from point A (Ridley's house) to point B (Evie's place of work), she was stopping pretty much every step to shake off her paws. It just felt icky to keep walking with each paw saturated in as much water as possible. It might have been time consuming, but at least it was giving her minor relief to get rid of a few droplets of water here and there.

If there was one thing that tugged on Catarina's heart strings, it was seeing a poor animal out in bad weather. It didn't matter if it was a bird, cat, dog or even a street rat, she knew that they shouldn't have to put up with it. Strolling home from her latest adventure, known as bothering the pet store people until they allowed her to put up train your pet with Caty fliers, she was in a happy mood. That is, until she noticed a certain feline walking very slowly and shaking its paws every couple of steps. If anyone else had seen that, Caty knew that they would have broken out laughing at the poor thing. But, she wasn't like everyone else.
Moving slowly to squat in front of the cat, she spoke firmly to it. After all, if an animal would ever listen to you then you need to be firm with your tone. "Little miss kitty, you shouldn't be walking out here. It's only going to get worse the more you walk. Do you live around here?" Sitting there, she looked at the cat with confused eyes. It had weird energy about it once she got closer to it, it was so familiar but she couldn't pinpoint it exactly.
She almost wanted to laugh at herself, it wasn't like the cat could talk back. But, it was better to talk to the animals first before she tried anything else.

The red-haired girl wasn't the only one getting weird vibes. After the firm greeting she received, the manx turned to face the girl, green eyes seeming to lock with the red ones belonging to the girl. The manx had a star upon her forehead, which if noticed, might have helped the girl pinpoint the reason for the weird energy.
The manx would have cut to the chase on her own end, but she needed to be certain of what it was she was sensing. Save for the occasional lifting of her paws to shake them off, the cat was remaining in place and still gazing into the girl's eyes without any fear.

It was strange that this random cat wasn't trying to run away or anything. As her deep red eyes stared at the spotted fur of the kitty, she found her eyes looking strangely at the star shaped symbol on it's forehead. Wait, Diana had a moon shaped on her forehead, so maybe.. just maybe?
"Now kitty, you may thing I sound crazy but you remind me of a old... friend of mine. She is a cat just like you, only with a moon on her little head. I wonder if you are special, like her." Caty wondered, knowing that anyone walking by must think she crazy to be squatted next to a cat in the snowy roads. "I wonder if you can talk?" Vesta wasn't expecting an answer, maybe a little mew but that was the best she could expect.

That answered that question.
Without hesitation, ********* replied to the girl "Oh no, I don't think you're crazy at all. Though I am curious how you'd know Astraea... or Luna... or whatever she's going by these days." To the manx's knowledge, that was the only cat who had the crescent moon shape upon her forehead, the rest having stars. Save for Zirconia, but for some reason, ********* did not think that any senshi would have ever meant Zirconia as an "old friend," despite all the experience the other large cat seemed to have. Continuing along that tangent, the manx continued to talk, seemingly unafraid now that she knew that this girl definitely had to be a senshi.
"...I know that she isn't exactly running about the city these days like she used to though... which I guess is okay because others are willing to do the footwork."
There was a pause the moment she mentioned feet. "Would you mind carrying me for a bit? You know, snow is kinda cold and all... it'd be nice to take a break before heading back on my way."

It wasn't a surprise for her in the slightest. Caty felt pretty proud of herself when the cat suddenly started talking. She didn't freak out or panic like a normal person, but instead just nodded her head with a smile. This cat was a guardian cat, just like Diana was. As the cat told her about Luna, it felt like a past memory that was kinda there. Luna was diana's mother, if she remembered right. "Oh, luna.. I remember her too. I'm surprised she's here in Destiny city. Diana must be close too then.
The cat didn't seem like it wanted to stop talking, so Caty held back a smile as the feline continued to talk about Luna with great detail. It was reassuring that Luna was here, because that meant that maybe her princess was close by too. This cat was becoming more and more interesting to her/
"Carry you? Why not! No cat should walk around in this weather." Caty respond with a smile, lifting up the cat to hold it tightly in her arms. Dusting the cats paws against her hoodie, she tried her best to dry those tiny little white paws. As she held onto the cat, Caty wondered why the poor thing hasn't trained its owner better. Or, better yet, what owner would let their cat go outside in this weather? Both the owner and the cat needed some good training! "Your owner really needs some training..." She whispered to herself, shaking her red hair back and forth.
With a smile down, she looked at the cat with a grin. "Well, miss kitty what is your name? My name is Catarina, I'm from Brazil. Where do you want me to carry you? Is it to your princesses home?" She said very loudly, not caring that it might be annoying. Okay, so Caty had a tendency to ramble whenever she got excited. Who didn't?

The mention of a foreign name did catch the manx by surprise, but she didn't respond to such a surprise until she was tucked away in the girl's arms. As the newly introduced Catarina gazed down, practically beaming at her, the guardian gave her own introductions. "I have been known to go by many names... but the one that is actually mine is *********." There was a faint pause as she considered some of the wording that had come from the redhead.
How in the world would this girl know about Iris being a princess? Of course, it wasn't exactly where she had been heading, but it still was a rather curious thing to say out of nowhere. Rather than respond to the stray comment about princesses, the feline focused on other topics.
"I do have to beg your pardon though, I do not know of any 'Dianas.' So I can't help you with saying she is or is not close."
For a moment, she paused, flexing her paws slightly, as if to see how frozen the little toes were (or not). "A-a-and..." she started off in a nearly musical tone, "...you assume that I merely serve one person? Oh no, no, no. I watch over eight. I was on my way to visit one of them while they were at work."

Whenever Vesta had talked about a princess, there wasn't any way that she could have really known that ********* was really with Iris. To Vesta, it just made total sense that all guardian cats would be assigned a princesses since Luna and Diana had one in the past. She just said things how they were in her mind, even if that meant that it came out a bit brash sounding.
"It's very nice to meet you, *********!" Caty responded cheerfully, as she stood there holding the awkward little cat. It was strange to not see a tail swishing back and forth, but she would get use to it somehow. "Oh really? I guess that Diana isn't as popular as her mom then." Caty giggle a little at that thought, although it wasn't like she had seen Diana or Luna since her past life. The old memories of them were all that she had to go on, the past reconciliations that seemed fuzzy and unreal even now.
Caty's jaw dropped down as the feline spoke, "You have eight?!?" She asked with a shocked voice, "Wow, you must really have your hands full! If you have so many people, they should have known better than to let you get cold! And why aren't you wearing a sweater? Everyone knows that would keep you much warmer!"
Walking slowly down the road, Caty walked with a skip in her step. "Which place do you need to go, if you would like I can take you there. I've just been walking around aimlessly."

Initially, ********* was keeping her polite face on, the one that had all smiles and no worries. That was until Catarina said something that made her jaw drop.
"...Astraea has a child?!" ********* had only been talking about the one guardian cat who seemed to be in charge, so it wasn't like there were any other Mauvians that the redhead could have been referring to. "Oh goodness... who in the world is the father? I mean, I haven't exactly seen her hanging out with any tomcats... then again, I haven't seen much of her at all lately... oh goodness... what scandal!"
Realizing that her voice was reaching a pitch just a bit louder than she should have been, the manx quickly shut her mouth. Her fur puffed up slightly as a result to the shock of the whole concept of Astraea of all cats having even a single kitten.
Gradually, the small animal's fur seemed to calm down, settling back to its usual place. It was only then that ********* seemed able to continue on with the conversation. "Last I checked, cats don't usually wear sweaters... especially if they don't want to draw attention to themselves while patrolling these streets." The younger girls tended to want to dress the guardian up, and being the kind soul she was, she'd usually let them without complaint. However, when it was time for her to leave, that was the time to remove the small bits of clothing.
Sensing the slightly more energetic manner of movement coming from her momentary escort, the cat glanced down towards the girl's feet. "Oh goodness... aren't you a bouncy one! You must be the Senshi of super-fantabulous-energy or something!" A light giggle escaped into the air before she mentioned "Keep going straight... we've got a few streets to go down still before we need to turn. I'll let you know!"

Whenever people said she had a big mouth, they really weren’t lying! Caty wasn’t even able to know that she was saying something surprising or scandalous to people... Well, a cat! Just with a wide grin on her face, Caty continued on with a happy bobble of her head.
As they continued on the little kitty ********* seemed to calm down somewhat, teasing Caty in return about the fact that cats don’t normally wear sweaters. “I guess that’s true, it would be much warmer though…” She admitted, tilting her head to try to think of other things to do so that the cat wouldn’t have to deal with the cold. No ideas were really coming up, so she tried to shake that that train of thought as ********* cheerful voice caught her attention.
“Why shouldn’t we have a good time getting somewhere than walking boring and slow!” She chirped with a smile, “And I wish I was that type of Senshi! I’m a little bit different than that. A lot.” Caty thought about telling this strange cat who she was, that she was the Senshi of Humidity and searching for her princess but she knew better than that. She trusted the little cat, but wouldn’t dare do anything her princess wouldn’t approve of. And that might be something.
As they walked along in a rare moment of silence, Caty found herself wondering something rather odd. "*********, are there any pet places trainers here? I'm trying to figure it out, I'm kinda new to the city... country really!" She laughed at the words she said, it really was amusing in a way asking a cat about those types of things.

Catarina was very willing to share information, yet at the same time, ********* couldn't help but feel she was avoiding the mention of one thing.
"...what is your senshi name, if you don't mind me asking?" It was obvious that this girl was a senshi just based off her familiarity on the subjects and the fact she wasn't trying to harm the guardian. And the fact she wasn't running off screaming about how a cat had just spoken to her.
Regardless of the answer (or lack of one) she was going to get, the manx then replied to the stretch of a question the girl had asked her. "I could tell you aren't from the U.S. in all honesty. You speak with an accent similar to another senshi I met before. Nice girl... then again, there's a lot of nice girls and boys out there." With a small chuckle, she continued. "I don't frequent the inside of the pet places out here, because if I did, then they'd try to capture me and put me in one of their cages. However, I could tell you of several of the pet places in general and you could look into it. I'm sure someone as energetic as you wouldn't mind 'pounding the pavement' a bit, so to speak."

Catarina's deep red eyes fell on the head of the cat within her arms, trying to figure out what she should say in response to the questions. She wasn't really sure about admiring what her senshi name was, but maybe she would be able to learn more from ********* by giving it away?
"It's not a problem, I'm just not use to speaking about my own self." Catarina admitted, giving a shy smile to the furry gray cat. Taking a good look around to make sure that no one was tailing behind herself or the gray cat, Catarina finally began to speak. "My senshi name is Sailor Vesta, the senshi of humidity. I guess you could say I'm the one that makes everyone sweaty and gross." She added on that little joke, squinting her eyes as she laughed at her own joke.
Hearing that she spoke with an accent similar to another senshi, Catarina couldn't help but open her eyes wide with a bright smile. "There's someone else here? I mean, I'm happy to hear that!" Catarina wasn't sure if it was Ceres, Juno, or Pallas, but it was good to hear that this cat knew of them! ********* was becoming even more awesome each moment that they talked. "Ahh, that is true! I didn't think about that, they might think that you're a stray. But, you seem to nice to be one after all... you told me about your many scouts after all!" Catarina gave another smile, the wheels in her head turning as she took in those words. Maybe she could try to find a place to put up her fliers after all, that would be really fun to her.

The mention of the senshi's name seemed to spark some sort of familiarity in the cat. "...Vesta, the fourth of the main belt asteroids. I am curious if you know Juno, the third of the main belt asteroids... she's the one I spoke of earlier with the similar accent and all!"
The feline paused for a moment from the conversation to give an instruction on how to get where she was going. "Turn right at the next corner, Catarina!" With a nod and the jingle of her collar, she then moved back to the other subjects at hand.
"You know, a lot of people tell me I look too nice to be a stray... but the truth is I am practically one anyways. I'm definitely not a house cat, in all honesty." Once more her head bobbled up and down for a nod which was followed by the jingling of her collar. "I mean, I do like to keep my options open, you know?"

This little kitty seemed to know a lot more than Catarina expected, as her bright eyes fell down on the cat. It didn't seem to bother Catarina in the slightest way, as she already felt at ease with this little feline.
"Yes, that's correct. I know of Juno, Ceres, and Pallas. They are the ones that I'm searching for, it may take time.. but I'll find them and Small Lady. It's good to know that you've seen Juno, it makes me... happy!" Catarina was confident in that matter, it may take time but she would find her sisters and their beloved princess.
As Catarina was given the next instruction on where to turn, she listed to ********* as she walked with an even more joyful bounce in her step. She was just too happy now!
"Really? Isn't it more dangerous like that?" Catarina questioned, not really understanding why ********* wouldn't want to stay in one house more often. Okay, so maybe it was easier to vanish like that, but it seemed hard to her. "Don't you stay with one of them more often? I'm not trying to pry, it just seemed that it would be easier if you stayed at a house instead of venturing from one place to another in this weather."

The names were tucked away in the kitty's mind for safe keeping. "...so the second and first asteroid of the main belt are part of Small Lady's team?"
If she recalled correctly, she could have swore she heard the reference of Small Lady before. That was the name that people sometimes called the one that went by "Chibi Moon" if she recalled correctly. Seeming to beam slightly, the feline mewled out "It must be nice! Small Lady is pretty important, isn't she?" Though her tone tried to be absolutely conversational, her own lacking knowledge on the subject was quite evident.
Catarina's concern wasn't masked in the slightest as she started to press the manx about her own lifestyle choices. "...I don't think it's too dangerous to be quite honest. It's more of a matter of knowing what you are doing and the what not. I'd think that having a cat with a blatant star upon their forehead living in the same place all of the time would be more dangerous for anyone involved to be honest though. It's kind of tell-tale about the whole senshi thing, yes?"
