User ImageStreams of Silver sighed as she walked across the rocks, trying to keep the mud below from getting on her freshly-cleaned fur. She wasn't normally this vain, but she felt nice and clean, and that sort of sensation was something she valued, for as long as it lasted. There was no way she was going to trod through some awful, dirty muddy creek and muss up her fur, but she felt like wandering again, so staying put simply wouldn't stay. So, there she was, wandering down along a muddy creek-bank, stepping on rocks as she tried to keep herself clean. This is ridiculous. She cursed as one of the smaller rocks she had tried stepping on started to sink into the muck. "Maybe if I just reach a little bit further?" she absently asked her companions. Glimmer chuffed some sort of response, while Glint remained content, likelier than not simply grooming his wings as he held onto the scales on her back.

User Image Reticent Smiles had been testing her sneaking abilities on her companion Hidden all day and slowly but surely she was feeling very confident in her abilities. He'd since slunk off to be rid of her for awhile, but that was okay with her. She'd learned all she'd needed to be a successful sneak and that meant she could watch and observe without having to talk to anyone. She'd done it once to what she thought was a pair of strangers, but it had turned out to be her own father talking to one of her sisters. Still, neither of them had known she was there until she made it known and that pleased her greatly. More than anything it bolstered her trust in herself and her own feet. Which was something the doe needed more than anything else in the world.

So it was that when she heard a voice musing aloud somewhere near the muddy creek a few kimeti-lengths away she scrunched her face into her serious "hunting" face and crept along as quietly as she could to the edge of the brush that hugged the creek's banks. Blinking in curiosity as her sight was met with the brightest gleaming coat of graysilver she'd ever seen Smiles was instantly filled with the desire to see how the other doe kept it that way. It must have been the friends she had with her that helped somehow.

As if the thought of companions entering the brown doe's mind called him, Hidden lifted his head out of the waters to peer at the spot she was using as her hidey spot.

Directly under the shiny kimeti's hoof. Literally, she was standing on Smile's turtle and not a rock. Leaping out of the bushes with a crash and scrambling legs the previously sneaking doe threw herself at the other doe. All the while yelling "Please don't step on my turtle thank you!"

The doe reached further, managing to get a hoof on one of the rocks, before it started slipping away. She had been about to utter a string of curses when a voice broke in, warning her about the nature of the rock beneath her.

"...oh. Terribly sorry, really." She pulled her hoof back immediately, with an apologetic grimace at the animal she had just placed below her hoof. That would explain why it was moving. She looked around at the stones, and frowned. "You wouldn't happen to know if any of these other rocks are animals, would you?" she called out to the doe who'd warned her about her pet. "Before I try stepping on something else."

The turtle was safe. A sigh of relief followed by a blink and Smiles shook her head.

"U-u-unfortunately I only knew of this one because he is my f-f-f-f-f ..." Awkward.

"My turtle."

"Well, then. I apologize for stepping on your turtle." She looked over at the rocks around, and shook her head slightly. Nothing do do about it - she'd walked her way to a dead end and there'd be no picking down this streambed without dirtying herself. She stepped down into the mud, almost gingerly, listening to it as it squished and made a sucking noise.

"I suppose it's better for me to walk in the mud, anyways," she commented to the other. She paused a moment, and reconsidered, adding, "Your friend isn't hurt, is he?"
