Reticent Smiles had been testing her sneaking abilities on her companion
Hidden all day and slowly but surely she was feeling very confident in her abilities. He'd since slunk off to be rid of her for awhile, but that was okay with her. She'd learned all she'd needed to be a successful sneak and that meant she could watch and observe without having to talk to anyone. She'd done it once to what she thought was a pair of strangers, but it had turned out to be her own father talking to one of her sisters. Still, neither of them had known she was there until she made it known and that pleased her greatly. More than anything it bolstered her trust in herself and her own feet. Which was something the doe needed more than anything else in the world.
So it was that when she heard a voice musing aloud somewhere near the muddy creek a few kimeti-lengths away she scrunched her face into her serious "hunting" face and crept along as quietly as she could to the edge of the brush that hugged the creek's banks. Blinking in curiosity as her sight was met with the brightest gleaming coat of graysilver she'd ever seen Smiles was instantly filled with the desire to see how the other doe kept it that way. It must have been the friends she had with her that helped somehow.
As if the thought of companions entering the brown doe's mind called him, Hidden lifted his head out of the waters to peer at the spot she was using as her hidey spot.
Directly under the shiny kimeti's hoof. Literally, she was standing on Smile's turtle and
not a rock. Leaping out of the bushes with a crash and scrambling legs the previously sneaking doe threw herself at the other doe. All the while yelling "Please don't step on my turtle thank you!"
