It hadn't been very long, since the group of trainers from Kodo had set out into the trails of Hoenn to start a journey of much more intense Pokemon training then they would be able to get in Kodo.
Rosie, with her group of friends, not all of them natives of Kodo, in fact Other then Sera, and Dani, none of them were originally from Kodo at all. Rosie though it was really amazing... she kinda hoped they would see Kodo as part of their home someday.
As a group, they had set out from one of the cities, traveled most of the day until they reached an aria that had been recommended to them for training. It didn't take them very long to set up something of a camp for them, before going off to train, or explore the aria.
"Dith?" Rosie called, siting up once she had made sure her boot fitted securely on her leg, picking up a lighter bag that she held empty pokeballs and training items in. Looking around the camp for the easy to spot Russian, and hurrying over to him.

"Da?... Uh, yes?" Dith - who had been lying back looking at the sky and stroking Vikor - sat up abruptly. "What is it?" They had been in the area for only a little while now, but honestly with this little group he felt more settled than he had since... well, things and stuff. Still, he didn't know any of the youngsters so very well yet, but at the same time felt he was... well it was his job to... well, really, if he was honest he felt like he needed to look after them. Dinners cooked, perimeters of camps checked, offers of taking clothes to the laundromat and so on.
Plus, of course, being available when they asked for him. With Viktor now pulled into his lap he offered Rosie a smile. "You need something?"

Perking up with a smile, and widening blue eyes, the blond stopped just next to Dith before she knelt down. Her Pikachu, Kiss Kiss, having been running after her, jumped onto the teen's shoulder, leaning forward as she supported herself onto her front paws, and smiled down at Viktor.
"My team and I are going to go out and take a look around, maybe do some training. Would you like to come with us?" she asked the large man, hopefully.
she liked Dith a lot, but it was true that she didn't know very much about him. "I thought this might be a good time to just hang out for a bit, you and me."

The fact that she even cared to ask was gratifying, and Dith smiled warmly in response to it. "Sure!" Still smiling he got to his feet as Viktor clambered up to stand on his massive shoulders. "I would like that a lot," Dith went on, "Teazer especially needs a lot more training, I don't think that she listens to me too well yet.... And I would like to spend them time to get to know you some more, as well as the pokemon you fight with."
He wanted to know all of these kids a lot better than he did. Where did they come from? Who were their parents? Were they good parents? Were their lives happy? He wanted?... Ugh, he was supposed to be here all about the training of pokemon but he found himself more concerned by the owners. Children out all alone, just allowed to leave? It was a culture thing he suppose and yet... and yet... some of them, like Rosie, were young. It worried him.

Oblivious to the kinds of concerns that her older friend was having, the girl just continued to smile, and as happy as she usually seemed to be, pushed herself back to her feet quickly when he agreed, making a happy noise when he said he would like to go.
"Ohh, well in that case I bet we can find a great place to train, I would like to get Pastin out for some work too." Folding her hands behind her back after sliding her bag over her shoulders. Dith had an experienced pokemon like Viktor, Rosie was sure she would learn something new from him about pokemon. "How much training have you done before? I bet with your experience you'll be able to make Teazer into an amazing teammate."
"Hmmm." The younger girl hummed to herself as she seemed to ponder what way they should explore first, tilting her head slightly as she lifted her hand, pointing down one of the paths that lead around the forest. "What do you think about that way Dith?"

Grabbing just his leather satchel rather than his huge backpack Dith made a 'mmh' noise of his own and then shrugged. "Sure, that way looks as good as any to me, let's get going!" As they set off down the path he glanced up at the Espeon on his shoulders, considering really what to say. "We used to battle quite a lot when we were younger," he said after a small pause. "Pokemon weren't so big where I lived, no league or anything, but there were local at regional battle contests. We won a couple of local ones but never anything big and... that was a while ago." Dith grinned ruefully, realising just how long ago. Probably fifteen or twenty years since they'd entered one of those.
"My work sort of took over when I graduated from medical school though," he said with a shrug, "until a few months ago, when we started touring the league regions, we'd hardly done anything. It has taken a while for us both to get back into the swing of it.... Oh, Zla of course is very experienced." Dith glanced around just in case the Haunter felt like making himself visible. Nothing happened, but he did feel a chill tickle the small of his back so he knew the ghost was there. "He's my father's really," Dith went on, "his second Pokemon, caught him when he was eighteen... and that really was a while ago! He has always been more about stealth and tricking than he has been about battle power though, so we shall be working on that together, plus getting him to learn to listen to me and not treat me like I am still six." He didn’t hold out too much hope on that really but maybe he could just persuade the tricky ghost to humour him, so long as he listened it didn’t really matter all that much why as long as he remained happy.

To keep up, Rosie made sure to walk a little faster then she normally did, but she made it seem natural,
When Zal was brought up, a pokemon that Rosie knew was on Dith's team, though she had really only ever heard of the pokemon before. She knew it was a ghost type. the blond glanced around as if looking for the pokemon, but turned her attention back to Dith when he mentioned that Zal had belonged to his father previously.
"One of your father's pokemon? that's amazing! how did you end up with Zal on your team?" she asked, a small curious smile on her face.

Dith laughed and shrugged. "Zla was bored and spooking clients - my parents have a party planning business that caters for some rich high-maintance types who don't like to be spooked! - and I was heading into more dangerous sorts of things to be doing. My father decided two birds with one stone was a good idea and sent him over to me in a large cardboard box full of rubber psyducks as a house-warming gift. The rubber psyducks are a bit of an in joke with us now; when I got my first place that I actually was going to own - mortgage and all that lovely stuff - he presented me with a flatscreen TV box... full of rubber psyduck. Of course, this was way back when flatscreens were pretty new and expensive and rare so I was really excited... and it was psyducks. Still, he made up for it, my actual proper present a few days later from him and my mother was being taken furniture shopping." It felt like a lifetime ago, in fact thinking back that far did make him feel a bit old. He was a bit old. He'd be forty three in the new year. Hoi. Well, such was life he supposed; everyone got older, but whether or not you got boring was entirely up to you.

Her expression softened as she listened to Dith tell a story about his parents, it was both funny and kind of mean, but it sure made it seem like his dad had a sense of humor. "Hee hee" she giggled lightly. "Is he like that a lot? what kind of people are your parents? they sound like they care about you a lot."
When she had heard Zal had been his father's Rosie had been a little worried that the Pokemon had been an inheritance, she was both surprised, and happy to hear that they seemed to be alive. "Dangerous stuff like what we're doing now?" She asked.

"They do," Dith smiled warmly, "Very much." He didn't feel that now was really the time to go into the whole history of all the things they had both gone through for himself and his sister; it was a bit of an unpleasant story in parts and he had no intention of bringing down the mood. "Uh... yes, though, in brief? As you have gathered already my father is a terrible tease, only to people he's close to though. He's very suave, witty, charming. Diplomatic, good at being polite to just about anyone and persuading them to come around to his way of thinking at least a bit. My mother," Dith gave a short laugh and grinned, "Scary. She is very determined, very driven, and as sharp as a knife. She takes no crap from anyone, she is the organized one and the one that when diplomacy fails bullies the mother of the bride into choosing a darn seating arrangement already and not changing it again for the twentieth time. Mmmh, yes though, just like what we're doing now." His father had tried really very hard to talk him out of the whole idea when he'd seen them very briefly on first arriving in the region and he felt a bit guilt for being a cause for concern but... he couldn't have backed out. He was needed here.
"So I've talked quite a lot now," Dith said with a grin, pushing his worries aside for now, "What's you family like then?"

"Mm" Rosie shook her head, "I like listening, They sound like amazing people," she added kindly. She didn't at all mind listening to Dith speak about his family, or about him. She felt she could probably sit and just listen to him tell stories about his life, talking about what experiences he must have, the people he's met. It was true, he was much older then all the rest of the group. But that was an asset to have she thought. She hoped someday she would be like him, be able to share experiences. Maybe someday she would tell stories about the man she knew named Dith, and how, with an incredibly brave group of trainers, they all stood up to the evil organization that was hurting people and stealing pokemon.
"They both sound like strong, incredible people" Rosie replied, looking up at Dith as she folded her hands behind her back. Tilting her head when he asked her about her family. "Oh, my family? Well, I live with my uncle right now, I don't know if you listen to club music, but he's a pretty good DJ." She smiled fondly. "He's always so chill, just loooves music, and loves to have a good time." she lowered her voice "but he's a terrible singer and dancer." she added with a light giggle, "He's the complete opposite of my mother, his sister, Its really funny. I think its a family trend though, My twin cousins are very different, as is my sister and I."

She lived with her uncle? Why was that? Well, he'd ask another time when he knew her a bit better; for the time being he just chuckled at her talk of his singing and dancing. "I'm quite different from my sister, not totally opposite but she's a lot more... boisterous, hyperactive, excitable. Hehe, I can't claim to be a very good singer or dancer myself but I do enjoy it, a bit of karaoke and that, you know? I do like club music, generally, I mean there's some real turds in very gen... uh... mmh, you know, every style of music. Good club music is very good to exercise to, which you can probably guess I do quite a lot of."
His usual routine was going to suffer out here; no weights, no punchbags, all very sad. Whenever they stopped in town he was going to have to hunt down a gym (a human gym) or he was going to go crazy with the lack of exercise. No, just walking most of the day most assuredly was not good enough.
"You'll have to meet my parents sometime," Dith added with a grin and a nod, "I'm sure you'll get on with my father and I think my mother will approve of you; she approves of all women who have a decent head on their shoulder and go their own way." Men had a rather harder time earning her esteem; he didn't know of many (any?) save his father and himself who had it.

Rosies eyes widened, seeming to be pleasantly surprised when he said he had a sister. "Oh, you have a sister too? is she younger?" The words he chose to describe her were adorable, bit she could see how they were different, Rosie could really use those words to describe Dith, at least what she's seen so far.
"Uncle's music is sure good for that, yes! Its great to dance to too!" she said, and instantly stepped herself into an elegant but simple spin. "Its good you enjoy it, you don't have to be good at either. You can always tell when someone loves what they're doing." that was the point after all, she was happy to hear that Dith said he enjoyed them. "I love them both! My family has a history of being very musically adept, you can bet that anything musical that comes from my family will be great!" That was of course a matter of opinion, but, Rosie thought highly of her family, so or course she would think that.
When he brought up the reason his mother might like her, Rosie glanced up from where she had been watching her step, blinking at the large man before she smiled bright, and looked very touched. "Mama would be so happy to hear you say that. She worked hard to make sure Faleen and I were the very best we could be." She turned back to Dith. "I would love to meet your parents, Dith." She said this with genuine hope. "I bet they have lots of stories to tell." she added with a light, good natured laugh.

"Younger, yes," Dith nodded, "by six years, but of course she complains that I still treat her like she is six. And your sister - Faleen? - is she younger or older than you? Hehe, I have always admired the musically adept, the most I can play is a triangle and I can't stay in tune to save my life unless I have something to sing along with. Anyway, yes though, maybe when we're done with this trip we can find time to introduce you! Batya - Papa - has entertaining stories for years, Mama tends to more insert sharp one liners to whatever it is he's telling. Probably some of the stories he will tell will be in an attempt to embarrass me, because he is everso kind like that!"

"Faleen's older." Rosie answered with a smile. "by six years too actually." she beamed at the similarity to Dith and his sister and Rosie and her sister. But a thoughtful pause caused her to reconsider. "Oh... well maybe more like five and a half " She finished with a light giggle.
Rosie slid herself into a skip, absolutely delighted that Dith was appreciative of music, AND that there was a prospect of her meeting his parents, she loved to see a family dynamic in work, it was so touching to her, even the most quirky ones.
"Hee hee, I promise not to laugh at you Dith, if I do, it will be because I'm laughing with you~" Rosie opened her arms, the skirt around her hips fluttering a little as she spun where she stood and took to walking backward so she could look at Dith while she spoke. "My uncle does the same thing to my cousins," she pointed out, her eyes bright as she talked about her family. "I'm starting to think that maybe its just a father thing."
