Elysium is extremely intelligent owing to the fact that loves to read and does so whenever she gets the chance. Aside from that, she's not very friendly. She wouldn't be considered shy, more like, aloof and cold. She doesn't feel as though she needs friends. Friends really are a liability and only get in the way. She keeps them around for as long as she can stand them (which isn't very long, truthfully) and then she casts them aside once she's done. She's given to frequent mood changes and can be thought of as hostile. She's sarcastic, witty, sardonic. She isn't afraid to be brutally honest with people and is given to cutting remarks. She has little patience for stupidity and often talks down to others. On a lighter note, she does enjoy daydreaming and when she isn't reading, can often be found doing that.

Elysium was the daughter of William and Natalie Bellbrook. Her father was an investment banker and her mother was an alcoholic. Her father stayed away from home as much as he could, often staying late at the office. He wanted to avoid his wife who was drunk almost constantly. During her drunken rages she would often horribly abuse Elysium. Since William was often at work, he was unaware that such treatment was taking place. Any injuries such as broken bones, etc., were often explained away as clumsiness.
Elysium first became aware that she was somehow unique when she reached the age of 13. It was at that time that she discovered she was able to read thoughts. That was how she found out about her father's affair and her mother's plan to abandon her the next time she went shopping. Elysium discovered that several other unexplained powers became apparent when she was angry. She soon discovered that she could create and control fire with her mind and she had teleknetic ability. The ability to control fire made itself apparent the night she killed her parents. Her mother discovered her father was having an affair and a fight ensued. Elysium, becoming upset at the arguing, caused the dining room curtains to catch fire. Realizing what she'd done, she quickly fled the house. Her parents were so involved in their argument that they didn't notice the fire until it was too late.
Not knowing what else to do with her, social services placed her in the academy hoping that it would help. That is how she came to be here.

The ability to read minds. She can also create fires but has a terrible time controlling them. Her ability to create fire often makes itself known when she is enraged. As such, she can't really control how large the fire actually gets or how devastating it can be. Due to that, she does have a tendency to inadvertently harm people and damage property.
