 Gumi entered the aquarium, ready to study all the animals she saw today. She shuddered as the cool hair hit her skin, and went towards the directory. She squinted as her green eyes scanned up and down the list and smiled once she found what she was looking for. She skipped down the aquarium hall, observing the fish swimming around. She stopped ocassionaly to adjust her scarf or to stare at a fish and write some notes down. She finally came to the clown fish exhibit and pressed her face against the window, scaring the little orange and white fish away. She huffed and turned her head to see a familiar white-haired boy, staring at the fish. She grinned, realizing who it was. She slowly crept up behind and waited for the right moment. "Piko-kun!" She screamed, glomping him from behind him from behind and laughed, "I haven't seen you ever since our ride on the pony!" She exclaimed and spun him around like a maniac.

Piko stood there looking at the fish almost frozen in spot. He watched as bubbles came from the fishes mouth and raised in the tank. Piko smiled and tilted his head following the little fish. Then suddenly the fish swam away in a panic. He watched as the fish darted away and went out of site. Then all the sudden someone creep up from behind him giving him a big gloping him well yelling his name. "AHHHHH!" Piko yelled started at the sudden action. Then all the sudden he started to spin around. when he finally regained his balance he turned to see who the culprit was. Piko looked at Gumi with a blank stair. "I should have known" Piko said with a sigh "H-hey there nut bar errrr I mean Gumi, it's been awhile" He said well giggling a bit. "P-please don't remind me of the pony I still have nightmares" He said well hugging himself as he shivered.

Gumi grinned and patted his head, "Oh, come on! We had fun on that pony! How could you have nightmares when I, the beautiful Gumi, are in your nightmares! They must be dreams!" She poked him in the head like she usually did, "That reminds me, I'm inventing a dream interpreter, so you could be the person I could test it on. I usually test it on my snake, but he's not here, so will you help me? Pleeaaassee?" She begged, making puppy eyes at him, "If you do, I'll do whatever you want!" She got on her knees and put her hands together, trying her best to get what she wanted.

"HAH!" Piko let out a large laugh. " The reason they are nightmares it's because you are in them!" He said almost at a snarl. His eye twitched after Gumi had poked his head. "A dream interpreter?" Piko said puzzled as he scratched his head. "Is that even possible?" He said well looking at Gumi. "Your snake! Is that even legal?" He said with a slight worry in his tone. He watched as Gumi got to her knees and begged him to let him be her guinea pig. "F-f-fine just get up your making people look at us. " Piko's face went a dark red as people started to stair at them. "B-but you have to help me get over my shyness in exchange for letting you test that contraption on me" He said not looking at Gumi well he scratched his cheek embarrassed. He thought about. Gumi is the only person he doesn't seem to be nervous around so maybe she could help him. Plus she was a pretty good scientist even tho he would never tell her that. "So do we have a deal" He said red in the face.

Gumi threw her hands up in the air and smiled, "Yay~ My snake is by best friend. Wish he was here though..." She stood up and put her arm around him, "Okay, I'll help you." She quickly added, "But you have to answer all my questions. Stop blushing, you look sick when you do that." She was actually a bit concerned for him and hoped he was okay. Her lab rat was not going to be sick when she was around. She leaned close to him and squinted, putting her hands on his cheeks. She did care about Piko, she was friends with him, wasn't she? She leaned back and crossed her arms, "You're not sick, but try and not to get sick, okay? I can't have a sick test subject. Now, why don't you act shy around me?" She asked, turning to face the aquarium.

Piko looked concerned. " What do you mean by wish he was here ?" Piko asked trying not to treed on thin ice. He looked over at the fish as they swam by. He then turned his attention back over to Gumi. "Thank you and I would also like it if you didn't tell anyone about you helping me I don't want people to know that I need help curing shyness. " He said with a pale expression on his face. "How do I look sick when I blush? Plus it's not like I can control it" He said with a bit of sarcasm. "And yes I will answer your questions just try to control yourself " Piko looked at Gumi blankly knowing she can get carried away. His face went red as she placed her hands on his cheek. He was surprised that her hands where so soft he had expected them to be rough from all her experiments. "I-I'm not g-going to get sick" He said well looking in another direction. Piko had to think about Gumi's late question for sometime. "Hmm I'm not really sure. Maybe it's because you are different then the average person well sorta like me we aren't your typical teenagers" He said wel looking back over at Gumi flashing her a smile.

Gumi started to laugh. "I've had him ever since I was a little girl. We're like best friends." She explained, "Haven't you have had pet as a best friend?" She asked, curious. "Er, never mind." She quickly went to change the subject, "Well, it looks like you have a fever or something... It worries me." She hated that she just said that. "Oh really?" She chuckled to herself, "I used to have no friends, you know. Only my snake and lizard were my friends. People thought I weird and they bullied me because of that." She sighed, "I was glad I could come here, I could somewhat be normal and blend in." She shrugged and rubbed her arms, "So I should probably thank you for being my friend, Piko-kun."

Piko looked at Gumi trying to analyze her. "No I never had a pet my parents didn't allow animals in the house" He said sadly. He looked over to the fish. "Not even a fish" He said thinking about the time he asked his parents for a pet. Piko made a sour face. He looked back over to Gumi after he said it looks like he has a fever. Piko cleared his throat. "I'm not sick it's just I have pale skin so the red really shows threw" He said well ironically a light pink surfaced in his cheeks. He glared at her as she giggled to herself. " O then we have a lot in common then I didn't have any friends when I was younger either and I was also subjected to bullying" He said with a sigh. "That's why I came to the Academy so I can make friends and break my shyness " He said sounding determined. He was then a little taken back by Gumi's next statement. "Y-you mean you think of me as a friend?" He said well blushing and pressing his index fingers together.

She nodded, slowly. "You know you can get a pet now because you don't live with your parents." She said with a small smile. He does look really pale when he's not blushing.. "You need to tan then. You're like a vampire. Hey, are you a vampire?" She asked, her eyes widening in curiosity. "That would be so cool!" She said with a grin. She put her hands behind her head, "I guess we are the same. But now I can beat up everyone who is mean to my friends!" She grinned, "So we have stick up for each other from now on." She held out her pinky, "You gotta promise, okay?"

Piko scratched his head well thinking. "Well I guess your right I could get a pet but I better talk it over with Len first sense her is my roommate" Piko said kinda excited at the notion. "I look like a vampire? " Piko said curiously. He turned to the tank and looked at his reflection in the glass. He was quite pale standing next to Gumi but he thought he looked less like a vampire and more like a porcelain doll. "I'm not a vampire!" Piko said promptly. "I don't even like the look of blood let alone drink it" He said well a slight pink filled his cheeks. "B-beat them up?" Piko said shakily. "I don't think you have to go that far...." He said quietly well scratching his head. "But I like the stick up for the each other part" He said happily well smiling. "I promise" He said well reaching his pinky to meet Gumi's well looking at her with almost puppy dog eyes.

"What're you gonna do when people are picking on you and you can't fighy back? You're gonna need a fighter like me. Gumi grinned and wrapped her pinky around his and let go. "Hold my hand." She suddenly said, holding out her hand, "It'll help you be more confident; I promise. And you don't have to be embarassed because there are other people holding hands." She said assuringly, "Plus, it's sorta like a date, because there's only two of us, right?" She asked curiously. She was sort of testing him to see how he was going to react. Hopefully, he would try and be confident and take her hand, it would be good for him.

" Well I guess your right I just don't like violence" Piko said sadly. "Well at least I have you to protect me now" He said well smiling at her. After she had let go of his pinky Piko was taken back by her statement. "H-h-hold your hand??" He said well going red. "A-a-a date!?" He said well almost falling over. "I've n-n-never been on a date before" Piko started to get overwhelmed. He took a deep breath and smacked himself in the cheeks. He then slowly reached out for Gumi's hand. As he got close he pulled back his hand. He then took another breath and quickly grabbed her hand rapping his fingers around hers. Then all the sudden Piko got a slit tingling sensation in his stomach. It felt as if butterflies were moving around inside him. He looked up and just stared at Gumi not understanding.

"Geez, it's like I was going to attach wires to your head... Yet." She sighed and held onto his hand, "Yeah, well I haven't been on a date either." She admitted, sort of embarrassed. She turned her to see how Piko was reacting and frowned, "W-why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?" She looked at her reflection in the aquarium glass to find what was on her face, but nothing was there. She looked back over at Piko and frowned, "I was just testing you, I'm not crazy or anything..."

Piko looked at Gumi with a blank expression. "Yet?" He said a little horrified. He began to wonder what he had gotten himself onto but reminded himself that if he is to cure his shyness he will need help plus Gumi wasn't bad company. Piko was happy that he wasn't the only one that hasn't been on a date. "So since neither of us haven't been on a date how do we know what to do?" He asked Gumi innocently. After Piko realized he was staring at Gumi he blushed and looked away. "S-s-sorry" He said felling embarrassed and stupid. He was thinking it must have been weird for him to just be standing there staring at her but he couldn't help it he just couldn't seem to take his eyes off her at the time. "I know I know" He said quickly. "I guess I just zoned out for a minute" He said well laughing nervously. He looked around for something to change the topic. "H-hey look it the little clown fish you scared away earlier" He said well pointing at the fish with his hand that was free trying to change the focus of the conversation.
