Andromeda limped her way away from the group, giving them just a little glance over her shoulder. She had the desire to be alone for the moment. After all that had happened, the company was great and appreciated. The Cheetah female couldn't stand being by herself for too long. She needed others around her. But everyone, even the most social of butterflies, needed time to themselves.

Thus she had picked a very flat and short rock as her alone time, easing herself slowly down upon it due to the number of healing wounds on her body. Crossing one front leg over the other, the injured female started to lick at one deep gash on the back of a paw.

The whole thing wasn't far enough in her past for her liking. The screams, the fighting, and moans of the dying. It was still too fresh in her mind. They had come out of nowhere, leaving barely anyone alive. At least, everywhere she looked her pride was being killed. A few were likely taken as slaves or mates, but of this she wasn't too sure. All she remembered was the death. It kept her awake at night and her dreams filled with nightmares.

Shuddering at the thought, she banished it from her mind, forcing her dark eyes to focus on the land around her. It was too pretty a day to dwell on the past. Off in the distance, she spied a couple of zebras grazing. The two foals at the adult's sides started to play at fighting each other.

Ugh, these memories was something Ea didn't want to look back on. He was tired, hasn't caught anything in days and is hungry, he hardly had anything to drink and most of all he was an abandoned soul. An angry, depressed, lost and abandoned soul. It was torture to lose his mother but even more evil to be separated from his siblings. Seeing a family of zebras, he saw the two foals getting farther away as they play and decides to let one live alone and the other his meal. He followed them into the high grass, not caring if he would be spotted for he could even outrun a cheetah and growls lowly.

Hiding in the grass, he carefully stalked his prey, ready to snatch one up. They went into a clearing which is going to make it difficult. Growling, they hear it and stop, looking around then i jump out, tagging on on the back but i slip off and they laugh. I carefully get up, growling and chuckles. "Haha! Nothing but a weak Hybrid!" one says "Ya! I heard Hybrids can do anything but eat and sleep! Their worthless!" the other one says and i back up slowly, ears pinned. Scared, he freezes up and they charge at him. Once at him, the start the kick and hit him till he was KO'ed. Once down, they went back to their parents to tell of the tale while left there, in the clearing, to just end.

The taste of the dried blood flaking off stuck to Andromeda's tongue as she continued to lick at the wound. She knew she shouldn't be picking at it. It wouldn't heal properly if she didn't stop taking off the protective coating on the outside. But it itched. Itched as it healed slowly. Healed far too slowly for the female's liking. Slow healing meant more time to look at her wounds and remember the past. How was one supposed to heal mentally and forget it when something like her paw was staring her in the face and resting on her tongue?

Lifting her head, Andromeda flicked her tongue in and out of her mouth almost like a snake to rid her of the taste of dried blood as the wound began to slowly leak, again. She curled her lip in disgust. The taste and smell of a fresh kill was tantalizing. That of her own blood was revolting.

As her eyes fell upon the herd of zebra, she noticed a bright colored cub making for the two foals she had spotted earlier. It was a strange sight to her, watching a youngster stalk something about twice its own size. It also filled her with a sense of worry over the youngster. As she watched it, she stood up, wincing in pain as her weight fell upon her cuts and bruises. Stepping lightly from the rock, Andromeda made her way silently in their direction. Due to her injuries, she couldn't get over there as fast as she would have liked when the sight of the foals turning on the young predator met her eyes. She was much too hurt to hunt even a little mouse.

Reaching the cub, the female Cheetah laid a paw on his side and shook him gently, more for her own sake than his.

Feeling a shake, Ea woke up abruptly and sheathed his claws but hardly moved. Calming down he looked up to see a female cheetah. "Shoot." he said without his voice making the words noticed. crawling back, he looked more thoroughly and sighed because he thought he actually caught up to his ex-mother. He sighed at looked at the cheetah female that was horribly hurt. About halfway her size, he sniffed her, smelling dry blood and got nervous of others that might gang up on them.

Andromeda stepped back out of the way to give the young one room. She sensed the pain held inside this one much like her own. Not as physical, but still there. She wished she could be like this one. Able to hide her pain all on the inside. Not gaining the pity in the eyes of the strangers she met. Or hearing the questions of what kind of battle she had come from. Like she wanted to relive it. Why was it not obvious to them that someone this injured likely didn't want to talk about it? These were not battle scars to be cherished long into the future and told to your grandchildren. They were painful memories etched into her skin. Hidden below her fur, but still there. Forever.

The tail of the cheetah curled around a back leg at the sniffing. It made her uncomfortable. She knew what she smelled like. The smell of her blood. The smell of the blood of others. The smell of strange felines, cheetah and lion both, covering her fur. Her wounds still hurt too sharply to risk bathing it all away. And she had yet to find a small enough pond she wouldn't have to dig her claws into the sand at the bottom to keep from swaying painfully in the current too much.

She watched the youngster, nervous herself about how to handle this situation. She figured the best way would be to just be straightforward.

"The smells on my coat are gone. They will not trouble you." Her voice was quiet, like one used to being spoken over and not having a say in how things turned out.
