Rolled a One: Ice field : The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks.

Reis' hands were in her pockets as she looked at the icy field. The cold didn't bother her, as she was always wearing a jacket. Jeanne poked her head out of Reis' hood, ears tensed in nervous anticipation. This was her first battle. Both hers and Reis'. They became interested after seeing a police officer fighting an arcanine, and while they expected it wouldn't be that wierd, the couldn't help but be nervous as Reis paced about waiting for her opponent to show up.

Kayla walked into the stadium and shivered violently before putting on her jacket on. She knew in that instant that they were on an ice field this time. She cannot remember the last time she had an ice field but oh well. Snookie was in a different form at the moment, a Spheal, and rolling into the field like a happy shellder.
Kayla did not mind Snookie has his antics are normal. She went up the the platform and pressed the dice button to see what number she would get. From the looks of the other trainer's roll, it was likely she would get to go first.

"Well, it looks like I get to go first." Kayla looked over at the nervous pikachu and other trainer in the room. "Come on, Snookie. Time to play."
Snookie was continuiously rolling around the ice field as if this was a playground before transforming back into a shiny mew and giggled into his paws in midair.
Kayla smiled. "Let's start this battle off with Mud-slap!"
Snookie, somehow, managed to find some ground that wasn't covered in ice and snow and balled it up tightly before launching it at the pikachu.

Reis laughed as trhe spheal went rolling around the field.
Well, at least the types match up in our favor.
And suddenly, the spheal wasn't a spheal at all. Jeanne was caught off-guard as the then-spheal-now-mew flung a pile of mud at her, catching her in the back.
Reis' mind raced - she wasn't expecting a mew! - as she tried to formulate a plan.
"Jeanne, use Signal Beam, now!"
The little pikachu staggered to her feet, shook off the mud, and launched a ray of multicolored light at the mew. Jeanne was too shaken to produce a corporeal beam at the moment, but Reis hoped it would at least confuse the Mew enough to give them time to regroup.

Snookie ooo-ed and ahhh-ed at the pretty lights but it seem to unfazed him. He created those large bubbles and with the colorful lights, made the bubbles look more magical.
Kayla just rolled her eyes at Snookie. "Let's use Mud-Slap again, Snookie. I think we got that pikachu where we want them."
Snookie continued to watch the bubbles while in a giggling fit but not to far from the shiny mew, was a large mud ball forming in mid air due to mew's psyhic abilities before flinging itself at the pikachu again.

The mud slammed hard into Jeanne's side, and she slid across the ice. Up in the trainer's box, Reis was panicking.
"Use Signal Beam again, Jeanne!"
The little pikachu again shot forth beams of light, hoping to catch the mew unawares, hoping for a slight reprieve.

Snookie giggled happily at the colorful lights. To him, it is more of playtime than a battle as he is feeling none of the effects of the Signal Beam.
Kayla crossed her arms and frowned a little. Even though Kayla wants to win, this battle is just too easy. "Let's finish this battle, Snookie. Mud-Slap again."
Snookie started throwing mud all over and Kayla had to duck out of the way. "SNOOKIE!" Kayla shouted in half anger and amusement. Several of the mud went towards the pikachu.

Reis grimaced as the mud struck Jeanne. We've done nothing at all this entire fight! Think! Images flashed before her eyes - a fountain in the middle of a small town, a boy with an eye band and raggedy cloak. And then she knew what to do.
Jeanne, use Light Screen!
Staggering to her feet, Jeanne erected a barrier of light all around herself. It wouldn't stop the attacks, but it would slow them down.

Kayla acknowledged the move as at least it was something different than a chance move as Signal Beam. Snookie was still pointing and 'ooo'ing at the pretty lights and didn't seem fazed by pay attention to the light barrier that formed in front of the pikachu.
"Let's stir things up a little, Snookie, with Ice Beam!"
Snookie was currently giggling to himself as he blew warm air into the cold field and trying to make shapes out of it. At hearing the request, Snookie concentrated a small orb in front of him. It grew to the size of a basketball before shooting straight towards the yellow mouse.

Reis breathed a sigh of relief as the ice crashed harmlessly against the barrier they had constructed. Walpurgis had spoken of the horrors that being frozen could cause, and she didn't want to see them firsthand.
"Jeanne, use Rest!"
Although it made zero sense to her, the command made her eyelids seem heavy, and Jeanne fell asleep behind the relative safety of the light screen.

Hmm, this battle might last longer than I thought. Kayla thought as she watched Snookie's Ice Beam miss and Rei's used Rest.
"Let's keep that pikachu sleeping in a block of ice. Ice Beam again!"
Snookie, once again, blew arctic air all over the field, making the ice that was already on the field solidify even more so.

The cold air moved freely past the barrier of light, freezing Jeanne where she slept. So far as anyone could tell, she never even noticed.
Reis covered her face slowly with her hand. Wow. At least she'll not be awake to see this. Too bad it can't be said for me. Shaking her head, Reis managed a small smile. Still though, it had been fun. Another experience that she and Jeanne had shared. Pulling her hood up, she resigned herself to the fate to come.

Kayla watched as the pikachu become frozen solid before it could ever wake up from Rest. This is the first battle ever that was a complete shut out.
Snookie was drawing funny faces where the pikachu's face was and giggling all the while.
Kayla looked over at the other trainer and could see the defeated look and felt bad. "Do you want to forfeit? If you do, then I would win (of course) and you won't have to watch the inevitable. Or do you want to see this to the end?"
