So he'd finally gotten to where he was going to carol. Back to the demon dorm with Roch, BUT hopefully this time with no interruptions, he thought. He would go to Danny's, but in Roch logic, it was far more intelligent to go to the ICE COLD room, freeze his jinglebells off, THEN go to the hotter than hell room. Because heat trumped cold.
So the punk showed up, wearing his coat this time, and knocking on Edel's door with a little grin. He held out his hand, summoning his guitar.

There was a rare visitor for her. The frost demon looked up from her desk and stared at the door pensively, trying to think of who it might be. Based on previous statistics, wherein there was only ONE other incident, it might be Roch at the door. Or somebody else completely. Either way they would be needing a coat.
The door opened slowly, letting out cold air. The first thing through the door however was her hand with the coat, and only when the gap was wide enough did the ghoul look out to see who it was. It was Roch alright.
“Hello Roch, Merry Christmastival to you,” she greeted warmly, though at some points she sounded quizzical as to why Roch might be there. He had his own coat this time round, implying that his stay (outside her door) might be longer than usual... and with his guitar in hand...
Could it be-?

"I'm broke," he told her with a grin, "and late, too, sorry bout that, but I DID come!" He pulled the strap of his guitar over his shoulder and tuned it up. Then he stopped--"Ah, no real christmastival songs or anything, I still haven't gotten that peppermint smell out of my clothes, and I've washed them a dozen times." Then he started to play Fur Elise for her, because in his mind it wasn't related to Christmastival at all.

The frost demon couldn't help but let out a laugh when the reaper started his song – he was really taking her advice wasn't he? Edel shook her head and waved it off, not intending to claim any credit for that. Ah, Fur Elise. Again and again, Edel was amazed at Roch's renditions of the classics and this was no exception. And when the song drew to an end, the ghoul grinned and applauded the wonderful performance.
“Am I supposed to be giving out candies now?” she teased, at the same time being quite serious. The frost demon was starting to worry as she hadn't gotten Roch a gift.... and by no means was she broke. Play him a song back? Nah, that would be cheating. She would make him an ice sculpture but that would take days.
A miniature one though -
Slowly, carefully, a crystalline figurine of a guitar formed in the frost demon's hands. Edel looked up at Roch a little sheepishly as she stretched out her hands to give the ice figurine to him. How terrible of her, and exactly how was he going to keep that? “Perhaps I should have made a Grammy instead...” she joked weakly.
“Ice cream on me?”

He grinned, accepting the miniature with an appreciative look. "Nah, this is fine. And I'm a bit tired of cold, too--no offense or anything. But I would definitely take candy!" he said, the childish look of greed showing on his face at the thought. "You got some? Or you can get me some later! I like S&Ms, Footsierolls, any types of spookies--jack, who am I kidding? I like pretty much anything!"
But he hadn't come planning on begging for food or anything, it's just, well, she'd OFFERED!

It was a lesser known fact that the ghoul did NOT have a sweet tooth. At his response, Edel instinctively looked into her room, thinking about those candies in her drawer from Halloween.
From Halloween.... that was quite a while ago.
Her room was a natural refrigerator though -
Absolutely not, she declared decisively. She would be heading to the Maul straight after this.
“I don't stock up on those unfortunately... but I'll be going on a shopping trip in the very near future,” ah, there was really no better way around this than admitting it. Best to change the subject. “How have the holidays been for you? Asides from, well, that huge fiasco.”

"Can we, ah, discuss it in the hallway?" Roch asked, shoving his hands deep into his coat pockets and shivering slightly. "Cuz now that you mention it, there is something I want to talk to you about," he told her, stepping back to invite her out.
"And don't worry, I don't really expect anything for a simple song," he told her with a grin. "Especially not from someone I've fought side by side with."

Edel obliged, not for the first time. Her eyebrows were raised in curiosity as to what the punk reaper might have to talk to her about with the play over. The ghoul was pleasantly surprised at Roch's last comment, but she kept the smile to herself as they walked down the hallway. The grand piano loomed up just a little ahead, evoking the memory of their first meeting. Hah, how much have things changed since then?

He headed for one of the couches, halfway worried that Danny would catch them talking. But dammit, Danny needed to get over the Edel problem, seriously. Sure they were fire and ice, but they were both demons--HE, on the other hand, was a reaper, which made them not even the same species--
"Um, right," he said, dropping down on it in a lounging manner. "I have a... favor to ask," he said quietly. "It's kind of a big one, too, but not anything I don't think you'd willingly do or anything," he added quickly, holding up both hands. "It's just..."
The punk boil looked a bit worried about something, which seemed strange for him.

“Oh no, please do,” Edel urged, now slightly worried at how the usually carefree boil was looking somewhat troubled. The frost demon couldn't help but wonder what was it that she could do for him that the rest... such as Danny couldn't. But there wasn't really a point in guessing was there? For now the ghoul could only manage to give Roch an expectant look.

"Y'know... um, how I was lookin' for Taryn when we ran into each other? You'd never met her, so you probably still haven't. Well..." He tried to think of a way to put it. "She's smart. Like, super smart. WAY smarter than I am, and I'll be the first to admit it. But some... stuff happened lately, and she's having a bit of a hard time right now. I want her to... y'know..."
He frowned, reaching up and scratching the side of his head thoughtfully. "I'm her friend, right? I don't know how many others she has, I might be worryin' for no reason, but... could you meet her sometime?"

For a good portion of Roch's little ramble, the ghoul was pretty much ????
Clueless, that's the word. She picked up on the main idea quick enough though.
“Sure, I'd be glad to meet this friend of yours ... but uhm, may I know what happened to her? Just enough so that I can help, if you aren't at liberty to reveal any more.” The ghoul remained standing, scrutinizing the look on Roch's face. She didn't want to read too much into it but...
Curious, the way he spoke.

"Um... all I can say is family problems," Roch admitted. "And that's probably sayin' too much, but hell, I got family problems, actually my family is MADE up of problems, but I don't like seein'... y'know, my friends havin' problems with theirs." He shrugged. "I dunno, I like to picture ghouls like you and Taryn and Xiu and Danny, with happy families, and it really--"
He shrugged, admitting how bothered he was by the idea by NOT admitting it.

“Oh,” she spoke softly, taking in the unpleasant information. When it came to family matters..., the ghoul was worried she might be out of her depth. Not that she didn't have any troubles with hers but those usually blew over rather quickly. And that they never spent enough time with each other to start fighting.
Edel shuffled her feet on the spot. She felt bad. For Taryn. And Roch.
“Uhm, when is good for lunch? Or tea? You could invite her other friends along, your friends... Danny too even-” The ghoul wasn't sure of what to do and was grasping at straws. “I don't suppose she'd want to talk about it would she?”

"Not with a stranger, I don't think," Roch said quietly. "But I think you two would get along fine, whether or not she's havin' trouble, you know?" he told her, a hopeful look on his face. "You're both smart, classy, well... stuff I ain't," he finished with a shrug. "And while it can be interesting hangin' with people you aren't exactly... like, sometimes you need to talk to--to spend time with--guys a lot like you, right?"
Why else was he suddenly starting a band? Sure, Rikki wasn't exactly like him, but they were similar. And him and Nahm? Definitely had a lot in common. He'd needed that, more than he'd realized before.
