A bi-color haired teenager sat under one of the few lone trees in the Pilkiras Plain, eating a sandwich while his luxio and pachirisu shared a bowl of pokefood. Signature purple eyes scanned the grass lands, spotting small herds of deer or horse like pokemon. Heal thought he spotted a few miltank and mildly wonder if they were escapees from the farm he had passed by this morning. Probably not. Taking another bite from his lunch, he turned his attention to his pokemon. Picasso was chattering away to Tripod, who looked ready to go to sleep...or eat Picasso if he didn't shut up for two seconds...Heal was slightly entertained by the look of annoyance settling on the feline pokemon.

It was a good day to be a Rocket Grunt. All Zinnia had to do was explore and report back if she found anything special. It was just like being a regular pokemon trainer; she was free to go anywhere she pleased and take as long as she liked, and she had her pokemon companions with her. There were benefits, as well; she could return to the Rocket hideout whenever she felt like sleeping indoors again, as well as a steady income. All right, a Grunt's pay wasn't great, but she also got prize money from winning stadium battles, so she was doing all right for a 14-year-old.
As the weather was clear and warm, Zyk and Shadow were enjoying time outside of their pokeballs. Zyk was in his customary perch on Zinnia's shoulder, while Shadow trailed behind, floating through the air and enjoying the warmth of the sun on her dark pelt. Shadow was the most wary of the trio, however, and it was she that spotted the strange boy first. she said telepathically to Zinnia. She never spoke much, but when she did, it was always telepathically. For some reason she disliked speaking aloud; perhaps it frustrated her that she was only capable of saying 'mew' in an adorably high-pitched voice. In any case, she spoke English and her voice in telepathy was a composed, mature woman's.Zinnia turned and Zyk quickly emitted a few chirps so that he could 'see' the boy too. She noted (perhaps hypocritically) that his hair was strange; the colors were unusual. Still, it wasn't her way to keep wandering on her way when there was a person she could accompany, and besides, it had been a long time since she had met someone her own age! She adjusted her course and made a beeline toward Heal while he was innocently eating his food. Shadow Mew trailed behind reluctantly; she would have preferred to vanish, but she supposed that just one more teenager wouldn't be TOO much trouble. Zyk puffed himself up to look fierce, as he always did when he faced strangers.
"Hi!" Zinnia greeted and added, as always, a question: "Whatcha eating?"

"Um...A tuna sandwich..." The teenager mumbled as he observed this odd girl before him. Dark eyes noted several things, from the zubat to a..mew? Somehow, after meeting a perverted mewtwo that follow his father around, it was kinda hard to be surprise over a legendary. Putting his sandwich down back on the mantel and got up, offering his hand to shake. "I am Heal, who might you be?"
Tripod got up, giving odd looks at both the mew and the zubat, puffing himself up as well to appear bigger, thought he wasn't sure why, since that thing had not eyes! Picasso climbed up Heal's body and settled on his shoulder, tilting his head from side to side "Pachi?"

"I might be Zin," Zinnia said gravely, shaking Heal's hand. A strange name and an odd way of speaking to go along with his unusual appearance! Her brown eyes quickly shifted to Heal's pokemon, though, and she dropped his hand. "Wow, your pokemon are so cute!" Her brown eyes flickered from Picasso and down to Tripod, and she nearly did a double take. "What happened to his leg...?" she asked sadly. She had never seen a pokemon with a missing limb before.
Zyk was chirping at such a high frequency that it was almost out of human hearing. It was quiet enough not to be a bother, though; at least, Zinnia was used to it after all the years they had spent together, and with him perched so close to her ear. Zyk was keeping a close ear on the two pokemon; a pachirisu and a luxio, he soon realized. Both were electric types, and, being part flying type, he just hated fighting those! Of course he wasn't afraid to defend Zin, but he certainly hoped that it wouldn't come to that.

"Oh, well its a pleasure to meet you, Zin." He chuckled softly then looked down at his shiny luxio for a moment. "Oh..well Tripod....hmm, my father told me that his leg was cut off because of a deformation at a team rocket lab....He save him from being further experimented upon."
The luxio's ears twitched and moved forward when he heard his name. Oooh, were they talking about him? He began to purrr loudly.

Zinnia tilted her head, her expression becoming more serious. Of course this wasn't the first time that she had been told by an outsider that Team Rocket were the bad guys who did bad things. But she had never seen it herself. She knew the real Team Rocket-- or at least she thought she did. Anything bad that anyone had to say were, to her mind, only rumors. Team Rocket was going to help the world in the end, and then everyone would be sorry for thinking badly of her teammates.
"Even if it was Team Rocket," she said perhaps a bit too heatedly, "How do you know that they weren't just helping him? You don't know that they were experimenting anything." She pouted stubbornly. Zyk nipped at her ear to remind her not to blow her cover as a Rocket grunt, but she refused to hear Team Rocket being criticized.

The tall teenager, having gained his height from his father(and therefore taller then the average 13 year old), raised an eyebrow. "Because my father raid their file cabinet, and found tripod's. They were xrays and pieces of reports. The amputation alone is grounds for cruelty, as the deformation could had been fix with a couple of operations and brace. Six months out, Tripod could had been a happy shynx with all four legs working properly. The rest of the files made reports of using him for experimental drugs, some which had poisons between the mixture, had he not saved him, Tripod would probably be brain dead or dead by now."

"That's crazy," Zinnia said. "They w-- ow!" she cut herself off as Zyk nipped her again, this time more sharply than usual. She pushed him gently, and he took the hint and took off, flapping in circles around the humans' heads a few times until he found a tree branch that was close enough for him to continue 'watching' the pair while he hung upside down. Shadow continued to float behind Zin.
Zinnia rubbed her ear where his sharp teeth had pinched her. Her zubat was always gentle with her, though; he had not pierced the skin. "I don't think that Team Rocket would do something that horrible to pokemon. Just who is your father, anyway?" she demanded. She was not in the least intimidated by Heal.

Tripod let out a noise. Team Rocket had done this to him, what was this female human's problem? His fur bristled a little, but pressed closer to his trainer, glaring lightly at the teenage girl.
Heal tilted his head as he watched the zubat for a moment, wondering why it kept nipping at his trainer. "Hmm?" He turned his eyes towards Zinnia once again. "Oh, Dr. Hart.....Adriel Hart"

"Adriel Hart? Making you Heal Hart. That's a weird name." She spoke matter-of-factly, not meaning to make her observations an insult. "Hm... I think I've heard that name before, though... Hart..." She brought her hand to her chin and her eyebrows drew together as she thought. She looked Heal up and down. Tall, part of his hair was white, and purple eyes... It reminded her of a man she had met a long time ago. He had hated Team Rocket as well. "... You don't mean Hartless?" she asked. That certainly brought back memories! The mysterious man she had met in the woods, one who had introduced himself only as Hartless. "No way, Hartless can't be your dad," she laughed. It was probably just a coincidence.

Heal recalled his mother constantly refereeing to his father as 'heartless'. He still didn't know if she had been making play words with his last name or actually thought Adriel was heartless. "Hmm...." How many people could have the nickname 'Hartless'? He took out a small journal and open it to the first page, showing her a photograph of an obviously younger Adriel, one that had to be on his 20, being hugged a black haired woman(that was obviously older then him)."That's my father"

Zinnia examined the photograph. "Huh... It does look like him," she had to admit. "That's really your dad? That's so weird!" She grinned up at Heal. "I met him a while ago. So his name is actually Adriel? He lied to me! I guess I should've known that he wouldn't have such a strange name as Hartless..." She suddenly narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Is your name really Heal?" she asked.
Zyk was relieved that the conversation had taken a less dangerous direction and released the branch that he was hanging from. In a couple of flaps, he was back on Zinnia's shoulder. The girl scritched his head absentmindedly, and he gave a small, happy squeak before puffing his fur up again while listening closely to the strangers.
Shadow had drifted up over Zinnia's other shoulder so that she could look at the picture as well. Curiosity was a fault of hers, though she did her best to hide it.

Heal looked at the photo for a moment before picking it off the journal and holding it out to the mew, his father had mention that there were several in Kanto and too curious for their own good. "Well, he is a bit of a paranoid nutso, so I am surprise he gave you a nickname over his real name." The teenager could even more so agree if the girl's tendency to protect Team Rocket was a common place thing. He rolled his eyes at her suspicion. "Yes, my name really is Heal, my mother thought it would be funny for me to have the name 'Heal Hart' and that if I ever met my father, it would annoy him tremendously....Of course, she was right, he was up to boiling point when he heard my name....no idea why..."
Tripod rubbed his head against Heal's leg before laying down, pawing at the girl's shoes, he was getting bored....

The photograph glowed purple momentarily as Shadow used her psychic powers on it. It floated out of Heal's hand and up to the black mew's face. She gazed at it intently, memorizing the younger face of the man she recognized, and studying the strange woman beside it. Then she returned the picture back to young Heal.
"I wonder why that makes him mad," Zinnia said. "Wait... You mean you had to meet your father? Isn't he married to your mom?" It seemed impossible to the naive Zinnia that children could be born in any relationship besides marriage, or that married people might not always be together.

Tripod watched as the picture was return. "....?" He got up and walked around to look at Shadow over. "(...Are you a baby mewtwo?)" The young luxio didn't understand the concept that mews and mewtwos were two different species.
Heal sighed. "Adriel was passing through town back then and spent a single week there, doing some odd jobs and healing some pokemon. We didn't have a pokemon center back then. Anyways, he rented the spare room in my mother's house...and well....they got drunk and blahblahblah..." He rolled his eyes. "After wards, he went off in his merry way, mother never told him and I had no way of contacting him until mom did last year."
