α lot of people say I'm. . .
I've been told I'm laid back, somewhat goofy, and even a little lazy, sometimes. I can be good at keeping secrets, but I'm an open book a majority of the time. I'm not to keen on conflict, though the occasional sparring match is completely fine if it's on mutual terms. I need to keep myself up and sharp somehow, after all. Overall, I'd like to say that I'm a pretty collected and calm person who enjoys more the journey than the destination, and sniffing the flowers along the way.
I've also been told that I can be humorous in my own way with a rather dry sense of humor. I can also be a bit of a flirt, I guess, though I have to admit, it seems like the amount of men here willing to reciprocate my advances are rather... Limited. I often pass myself off unintentionally as a rather clueless, but I assure you, I can be pretty perceptive if I want to be. I also get to be stir-crazy rather quickly, and I bore easily if I'm not up to something. Whether be be reading a book, getting out on a walk or just talking with friends, it's better than nothing.
When I'm happy I don't get worked up for anything – I guess you can tell I'm happy when I'm pretty relaxed and content. If I'm sad, I generally prefer time to myself, just as when I'm mad. In either case, I'm often found jogging. I might go swimming, but I like being by myself when I do. A lake full of mer-folk isn't that much an option with this considered, and neither is a school pool. If I'm really steamed, you're going to tell pretty quickly. I'm either going to get really loud, or your going to be hurting. Slamming doors will most likely ensue.

Nothing special’s ever come of my life except for my powers, really. My parents both work; my mother as an elementary school teacher, and my father, also a Fire Elemental, as the owner of a popular diner up in a small town in Minnesota. I grew up with an amount of friends that was a little less than that of others, but I found that our relationships were much closer and less superficial than those who knew half the school. I also know that, as of a young age, I was fabulous gay. My mother was more than accepting when I 'came out' at 14, and my father, though weary of the idea at first, came around in about a year. Of coarse, there were some bible-thumping, pseudo-lunatic family members that ended up despising me, but I can't say I would've wanted them around much in the first had I known they were so shallow.
I also have a sister two years older than myself off going to university. Our relationship, well, it's interesting. Let's just say I don't enjoy the fact that she still dotes on me, and treats me like a four year old. I also have a pet cat my dad brought home when I was 13 after years of pestering him for a pet, and let's just say, it's been an interesting few years with 'Handsome'. I worked at my father's diner before I began going to the academy, and I still do during summer breaks. It's not the greatest job, but it's easy money.
So, life's pretty great.
αbilities? Yeah, I have . . .
I come from a long line of Elementals; people who's mind and body are in tune with Earth, allowing them to control one element. I just so happened to find myself with the Element Wood, allowing for control over plant life, manipulation of it's size and form, as well as letting me fuel their growth. That's right - I can take even the tiniest of plants and have it the size of a sequoia in no time. On top of this, I'm a half decent physical combatant.
So, that plant bit sounds pretty awesome, right? I guess they are, but they come with limits – I have to work my abilities using my own energy; an expendable source of power created by the mixing of physical and spiritual power. As such, my reserves of energy depend solely on my physical fitness and well being, as well as my spiritual awareness and intellect. For an example as to where I'm currently at in my energy reserves, extreme use of my abilities would probably drain me of all my energy in 10 minutes. Given I use my powers more wisely however, I cold keep myself going for hours. Recovery from a completely depleted energy reserve to a full one takes approximately 24 hours.
To keep myself in the conditions that need to be met to keep my abilities from dwindling, I have to keep my mind and body pretty healthy. As such, I've worked up a decent amount of stamina and endurance from swimming and jogging, as well as a considerable amount of gymnastic skills, and flexibility through a gymnastics class I was once unfortunately enrolled in. As for the spiritual awareness/intellect bit. I'm noting special in terms of academics; I'm your average Jo in terms of intellect, you see? Instead, I'm in tune with my spiritual self and the Earth as a whole. This doesn't come with any super cool psychic powers like you might figure, though. Really, the most that ever comes of it is an enhanced intuition. Drastic changes in the nature around any elemental is also occasionally sensed.
So, yeah. That's about it. Pretty awesome, eh?
