Here is where we can discuss and talk about areas we think should become an idea to be undertaken at some point. Just because you come up with an idea you feel should get some work, does not mean you have to be the one to work on that idea, but you are welcome to or just simply help out.
Ideas can be as simple as coming up with the world name, however I was hoping everyone would be involved with that one so we can all share one area of creation, or drawing up the map of the world. Some ideas may take longer to get to a stage of completion or workability than others. No one idea should be considered lesser than another just because it requires less writing or effort as it all contributes to the world overall.

So based on the ideas I posted in the Ideas Thread I thought I would set some basic things I think should be covered on a few to give an example of what some ideas involve.
Races - The entire list of living races from those who live civilized, to those who live like savages or maybe just rustically. The list can constantly grow over time with new people wishing to add to it. This may be on idea that everyone contributes to at some point or another.
Now once that race is decided to be in the world someone or a group of someones will need to establish the basics of that race, so you see one idea leads into more allowing for an ever expanding world.
World Map - bring your art skills to play and make the world truly come alive. Do it with paint or pencil, computer or tablet however you create in the world of art go for it.
Political Structure - This would be an area that will require good old fashions writing up the ideas details. Maybe not as flashy as races or the map but just as important as the political structure could have reactions or cause some other ideas to move or shift certain ways.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devil Theory Fantasy World Project Genre: Fantasy Races: Werewolves, Elves (currently under debate) Magic: Undecided social/political structure: Cast system with levels of wealth/power/respect Elves: Different sub-classes of elves are skilled in different area, some magic some combat but never both
Just to get things going I wish to work on the Werewolves in the world, and would like for werewolves to be added to the list of races in the world. I welcome any good assistance from anyone who would like to help in this area and put the time into it.
See, its just that simple. Plus with no time frame for the creation part you can always work on your ideas in free time or just come up with new thoughts to pass around among your group and keep expanding it.
How are we defining fantasy? Is this fantasy in the simplest way, in that its not real? Or is this fantasy, meaning fantasy-genre?
Yes go for it Tahiri, and see if Lady Hikari wants to add anything she one of our other Vampire fans. I'll mark you down for it Tahiri.
Think D&D, Forgotten Realms, Lord of the Rings. Magic, dragons, elves, dwarves, the basic fantasy genre idea. So I would like to stay in a Medieval-esk time frame, if someone comes up with a REALLY good idea for something say in an early renaissance period that might be ok. Lets try and stay away from a ton of black powder and steam punk, although some is ok. I know black powder really helps pirate based stuff but unless someone wants to make a really in-depth pirate idea.
If your idea differs greatly in some regards to typical vampire thinking it might be a good idea to maybe sum up the basics of the idea so everyone see it. The idea will be used by everyone who RPs in the world so the idea benefits greatly if its generally accepted by all. Not that it means you can or cannot do you idea if some people are issues with your idea, but maybe talking with that person and finding some common ground will help, and who knows it could help grow the idea even more from your original concept.
Well, my idea on vampires is that they are still living although their heart beats much slower than a human's. They have increased strength and speed, but not to Twilight standings. They can be killed by stakes to the heart, beheading and are weak to crosses and holy water. Vampires can come out in the daylight, but their power is reduced to a normal human's and their skin smokes ever so slightly, identifying them as a vampire.
If this is unacceptable, then I would use the Buffy the Vampire Slayer definition of vampires, cause I love BtVS.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm a little hesitant to use my definition of vampires. I'm still writing the novel and it's slow going. Instead, we should use Buffy the Vampire Slayer's definition. No sun, holy water, stakes and beheading, etc.
ALSO MAGIC!
Though I'm not sure what kind of magic we should use. I was looking at true names, small incantations (like Harry Potter), short charms (like Septimus Heap) or long spells like from BtVS...
Magic will be its own idea and will need someone to work it as well. As large and encompassing as magic can be I would hope multiple people would work on that idea.
Magic in fiction is the art of producing a desired effect or result through the use of incantation or various other techniques that presumably assure human control of supernatural agencies over the forces of nature, or more broadly the art of manipulating aspects of reality either be supernatural means or through means that are unbeknownst to science. It is in contrast to science, in that science does not accept anything that is neither subject to observation of any kind nor subject to analysis, as opposed to magic being an inexplicable force lying beyond logic. So, I think a distinction needs to be made between alchemy and magic, before we start getting confused. While a magician may make use of alchemy, a strict alchemist would not utilize magic in any way. Also, what kind of magic practitioners are we having? Will there be secluded sorcerers, or schools of magic?
