It had not been a very good past few months. A short visit back to the village had just reminded him how much he no longer belonged in it. His human was very happy. His new bride still glowed with the their love and the new child was adorable even to the big warrior warhorse. But she was too tiny for him to protect, to tiny for to do anymore than snuffle at her soft head and give her his own horsey blessing that she'd grown up healthy and strong and maybe one day have some of her fathers fighting spirit.
It truly saddened him that lately he'd just felt too damn big. For the first time in his life he felt he didn't not fit into his own skin. For the first time in his life he didn't know who he was. He'd left with the blessing of Kwahu and headed off to maybe got find himself. Alone in the world of the wilder Soquili had not sounded fun but it had sounded better than a life of waiting to be needed and never quite fitting in. He'd said goodbye to his adoptive brother in law, Majesty, who'd wished him luck and a good journey.
Briefly he wondered if under this tree curled up and fighting sleep was part of his good journey. He couldn't say he really remembered what he'd done for the past month. Existed he supposed, traveled further that ever, ate? Now he was in a piece of his world he knew nothing about and more lost than before. Not that he didn't think he couldn't find his way home but he didn't want to. Not until he knew himself again.

Kismet had visited this tranquil area of the lands she called 'home' several times in her past. The few trees that stood out dominantly over the others had always offered a welcoming shelter beneath the rain and the sun alike, and in the warmer days, offered one of the best places to simply rest and regain strength out of the rays of the scorching sun above. Thankfully, she nearly joked to herself, this was simply a comfortably warm day; no need to seek out the shade today!
What a quiet day it was, as well. It was rather odd; usually there was the white noise of birds singing, crickets chirping, even the dainty breeze purring. But today, there didn't seem to be a sound. Of course, with the exception of her hooves treading through the grasses; but that was only the diluted hissing of the individual strands being scrapped across her skin and hooves. No creature truly like to be pushed around, so she couldn't blame the grasses for retaliating at her in such a way. Yet, other than this, she could only detect silence. In each and every trip she had taken to this one, miniscule area, she had not once heard complete and utter silence. For what purpose was this happening?
It was then when she felt a gentle tug from within her chest. It was a mild and usual tug of which she had grown accustom to over the years; not too weak, but not as strong as it could be. Did this mean that another being was nearby? If so, with this kind of feeling, they must be in need of help of some sort. She only hoped that they were not in danger or injured, but she would do the best that she could.
Her eyes scanned the area in which her heart was pulling her [and her hooves] towards, trying to notice whatever creature or anomaly could be leading her towards. Within moments she saw him; a large, powerful looking horse, most likely bred from a line of warhorses of some sort. What would a horse of his stature be doing out her amongst his lonesome? She sensed he had an innocent sort of soul, so whatever he was doing couldn't possibly be that horrendous.
"Excuse me, sir?" Even she could barely hear her own voice when she announced her general question, but she would hope that he would at least notice her slowed approach, as she obviously stuck out like a willow tree in the desert.

He was staring off into the horizon and not paying attention to his surroundings. A habit that seemed to be becoming more common and distressing in its new found regularity. He'd once been taught to be ever alert and wary. Ready for anything. Any adventure. And twist of fate. He supposed that those scenarios had never contemplated this uselessness he now felt. He'd never even contemplated not doing what he did. Not being what he was. Being alone. It scared him. It scared him to be so depressed and hardhearted.
When she spoke, it was so quiet that he thought he'd dreamed a voice so turning toward her and seeing a black and purple mare among the grasses was slightly startling. But he gave no outward sign she'd surprised him. He blinked at her a few times then decided to treat her like he would any female. "Yes Lady?" Taught manners from popping out of the basket he used the term to show respect.

By his relaxed position and response to her, Kismet assumed that if anything, he must have just been lost within his own thoughts or meditating, causing her to feel a pang of regret for disrupting him. But based on what she had felt, she knew there was more to his simplistic story from the outside, as as she got closer she noticed that the markings on his coat were not apart of him, but simply warpaint. He most definitely had to have a back story to his life, which most likely lead him to the point where he was now. She began to feel that she was intruding on a personal moment even more when she read the sadness and numbness that dulled the glow in his eyes, but this was not a moment to back out now.
"I apologize if I am intruding or bothering you, sir," she began to respond, her words naturally forming in her throat with a honey-like sweetness, "but you seem to be a bit disturbed." She didn't even blink as she stared back into the gaze that he gave her, concentrating as best as she could to read his mind and soul. She did not have "mind reading" powers of any sort, rather she was a skilled individual at getting a sense of people's dispositions with the body languages they showed. "There seems to be something hurting your heart, your soul. Am I correct?"

He looked up at her quietly and assessed her. Quiet and caring. Pretty he supposed...if he were interested in mares at all right now. Which he wasn't. He assessment of him and subsequent question made him raise a brow and wonder about her more but he did not comment on her strange power. " You are not bothering or intruding on me. I would suppose it is me doing the intruding since these are not my lands. You are correct. There is something bothering me. Why?" He blinked at her and then turned his head to blindly stare back at the horizon.

Teh Roarie I apologize greatly for the delay! My week last week was much busier than I expected it to be! 3 For a brief moment or two, Kismet was almost flattered when her visual assessment was returned by the large, painted stallion, but she knew that it was because of how intriguing of a being he appeared to be to her. As he answered her, she was very pleased to hear such positive responses as well as being reassured that she was not bothering him with her approach. Being a rather peaceful and quiet mare that she was, she wished to disturb all others as little as she possibly could, no matter who or what it was she was interacting with. She was also pleased to hear that her predictions and senses were correct once again, as they had always seemed to be since she first learned how to use them. "Nor are these lands mine," she stated warmly, trying to show him that she, too, was stranger to these lands. She didn't believe that any such herds lived in this area, but at the time being it was simply these two wanderers who claimed their brief piece of sanctuary and homeliness.
When he asked her his question in return, which she was more than warmly expecting to come, she lightly averted her own gaze upon his back, near his shoulders, wanting to be respectful enough to keep her eyes on him but too self-conscious and shy to simply stare at the side of his face. "I simply ask because of my habit, and because of my genuine curiosity to your troubles. Is there any way at all that I can assist you with such burdens?" She blinked several times and swished her tail to shoo away a lone fly from her rump, before gingerly adding, "If you do not wish to request any help from me, or don't feel comfortable by doing so or even my presence, I will be more than willing to leave now, and you shall never hear or see me again unless our paths intertwine down our life's long and twisting road."

[.Silvr-Moon.] Tis fine. My life is suddenly filled w/ people and a new boyfriend so I have my own distractions He turned back to blink at her again. She as genuinely a strange creature. Skittish as a deer but warm and helpful? "Habit? It sounds perhaps that you have a strange habit. Most people do not take well to others mucking about in their problems." He sighed and turned to look at the stars again, wondering if telling her might actually help even a little. "I suppose I could tell you. But I don't really think you can help. You can't change the past, make people fall out of love or create a new reason for me to exist." He grumbled lightly as each statement brought a memory.

She smiled lightly, amused by his comment about her. Strange? Perhaps it could be seen as such by others, but this was simply the lifestyle she knew and loved. His comment did not offend her in the least, and she reflected such a thing by flashing him a gentle smile before listening to him further. She, herself, turned her gaze to the stars that were beginning to peak out from beyond the blueish veil just as he was. He didn't say much further, but regardless she devoted all of her attention onto his miniature rant. So, this stallion was another one of many who's mind was clouded with sadness, unable to see further through the fog of his mind? She had met many like him before, and it was saddening for her to see such states of mind. Fortunately, she had a few words to share with him in such an occasion for him, in return.
"This is where you are incorrect, for I just may have a few words to help clear your mind, clear your judgement." She gave off a flick of her ear, trying her best to calculate just what she wanted to say. Hopefully, she would be able to help him understand! "While there is no altering the past or feelings, but there is no need to create a whole new reason to continue existing. You already have a path, a road to follow, and you alone can decide just where you wish to go. There is no need to construct a whole new pathway in the least."
