Weyrling barrack weyr #2 had recently become home to the newly bonded pair of C'rci and Bolth along with Az'rin and Qizixth. The new much larger space a rather shocking transition for the former Wherhandler apprentice from the cramped quarters of the candidate barracks. As a matter of fact compared to the little space she'd made her own back there this new weyr seemed rather cavernous and empty.

A croon of affection and a steel blue head bumping against her leg quickly interrupted C'rci's thoughts as she looked down to smile at Bolth. Well with her dragon, her dragon she loved the sound of that. Well with her dragon the weyr would likely get more and more cramped as the blue grew.

Do not worry Mine we will do well here. I am home as long as I have you. Bolth murmured lovingly in her mind his eyes whirling a rainbow of blue and green. When C'rci had first heard how much dragons and riders spoke to each other silently she'd wondered if it wouldn't be strange having another being in your mind. Someone who knew every facet of who you are both good and bad and saw every thought that flickered through your head. Yet the more she had thought on it the more she'd longed to be so intimately tied.

And now that she had impressed the girl couldn't imagine a second of her life without the gentle, kind, loving, diplomatic blue in it. Reaching down she ran a gentle hand over Bolth's head ridges grinning at her lifemate. Someone had left her things by the door, she wasn't sure who or when, but they were there in a pile waiting for her to move about placing them. The shelves were already lined with Weyrling supplies like pots of oil and rags even a few little things of numbweed and bandages for scratches and other minor wounds.

"Come on love let's get settled in and clean up while we wait for our barrack mate." C'rci replied bending to scoop up her bags and moving to the right bunk. Dumping her things there on her bed she moved to grab a broom that had been leaning near the doorway and began sweeping out what would be Bolth's wallow. Once she'd finished that then and only then was she going to begin putting her things away.

I'm helping Mine! Mine what's this? Ooo! this is neat! What is it Mine? Where'd the lights go? Came Bolth's chatter as C'rci spun her dragons curious calls and keen of confusion alerting her. Only to turn to see her things scattered about the bed, the blue having hopped onto the bunk to try and help his rider tidy up and Bolth himself with his head stuck in her rucksack.

C'rci blinked a second torn between worry and laughter though worry won out in the end when Bolth let out another pathetic keening call for help. Rushing to his side she untangled the rucksack pull strings from around his sensitive head knobs and pulled the bag off him chuckling as she did so.

Mine! There you are! I was so scared! Bolth exclaimed all, but pouncing into his riders arms and knocking his head against her chest. Breaking down into fits of laughter C'rci simply shook her head reaching up to rub her fingers over Bolth's sensitive head knobs to ease the spots the strings had pinched them as her blue crooning appreciatively.

There there Bolth. I'm here, settle down now. You have quite the habit of getting into trouble. She thought to him offering a gentle smile when Bolth wavered thinking her disappointed in him. Bending she pressed a affectionate little kiss to his forehead and then with one last pat she lowered his clawed feet from where they were digging into her shoulders and settled him back onto the bed. I wouldn't have you any other way though.

Was he nervous about going to the weyrling barracks? Absolutely. Was he also nervous about the fact he would have to share the barracks with not only his dragon (which he did not mind in the least) but another dragon pair? Oh shards yes he was! The chunky boy took his sweet time traveling along the corridor and towards where he'd been told their new barracks would be. Weyr number two. That was the one in which he was assigned to. And he did not know his roommate. Not that this was a surprise as Az'rin barely new anyone at all.

W-We will be fine, Rinmine! I know we will. Or...at least I hope we will... The blue walked very close to his rider, eyes flickering from green to yellow with every little thing that startled him. I bet our...our...what are they called?

"Roommates, Qizixth. They will be our roommates." His voice was soft, one hand reaching out to rest against the blue's - his blue's! - head. "And you are right. I am sure they will be nice." He hoped at least.

Az'rin was still amazed that Qizixth had chosen him. And that he'd Impressed a dragon! It was such a strange and wondrous thing. He felt pity for those that had walked away with no lifemate. But they would have other chances, right? Oh Faranth he hoped they did. And if they didn't...

Rinmine, we can't be upset over something we can't control! Qizixth crooned and rubbed his head against his rider's side.

He was right. Az'rin sighed and let that thought drift away. Only to be replaced by the anxious and nervous feelings again. They were here. Oh Faranth they were here! What if his roommate didn't like him? Or they were really scary and mean? Or...or...the chunky boy swallowed and felt Qizixth lean heavily against him. Both were quite the pair indeed, standing right outside their weyr and afraid to enter it. It took him a full minute or so to realize that his stuff was sitting outside as well. There wasn't much, but someone had been kind enough to move his trunk here. Doing his best to shake off the inability to move, Az'rin hesitantly moved towards his trunk to grab an end and pull it into the weyr. Qizixth slinking in behind him.

"Um...uhh...h-hello?" Az'rin ventured, eye downcast and almost terrified to look up and see who his roommate was.

When Az'rin stepped inside he was greeted with an interesting sight. There standing on her tip toes was a petite woman with a mass of wild flaming red hair, her skin pale with a very light beginnings of a tan. Her back was currently turned to him as she slid a few very precious scrolls and her journal up onto a shelf. The majority of her possessions, what little she had that he could see had already been neatly put away. Sitting curled up quite comfortably on the girl's bed and watching them with rapt interest was an average sized steely blue dragon with ragged darkened stripes riddling the hatchlings hide.

At Az'rin's rather timid greeting the blue lifted his head a warbled a warm reply at them.

Mine. They have arrived. The blue informed her slinking rather carefully off the bed. His memories of getting rocked and falling this way and that from his time in the egg still very fresh.

"Yes thank you Bolth. I can hear them." C'rci replied smiling lovingly at the blue as she turned, first checking that the hatchling was able to slip from her bed without trouble before looking to Az'rin. It was clear she was speaking aloud more for his benefit then her own.

"Hello. I'm C'rci~" And before the girl could even finish her sentence now safely down from his napping place Bolth all, but galloped up to his green blue brother nearly crashing into him in his excitement to greet the new pair.

Hello brother. Is this yours? He looks very nice. Mine's cleaned out our new home, she even sweeped out the wallows for us. She says we're supposed to sleep in the wallows, but I like to curl up with Mine instead. Bolth spoke to Qizixth prancing happily around his larger brother trilling and crooning at him as his rider chuckled.

"As I was saying I'm C'rci and the blue is my lifepartner Bolth. Don't worry he's friendly." She continued stepping up to Az'rin to offer a hand holding herself with a calm and staunch confidence that belayed strength even though the girls height put her surprisingly below Az'rin himself in hand lengths.

Once he had dragged his trunk far enough in, Az'rin set down the end he'd been holding carefully and risked taking a quick peek at his surroundings and maybe at his roommate. It seemed that said roommate had picked a side of the weyr already, which made him relax a little. That meant he didn't have to try and stumble over words and insist that she pick a side first-

The chunky boy froze in mid thought and felt his face pale as his eyes immediately went to the floor again. A faint hint of red started to spread along his cheeks and his mind refused to process what he'd seen. Oh no. Nononono! He had to have been mistaken. Had to have been! That..his roommate couldn't have been a girl! No way. Except...except as a very distinct female voice spoke there was no way around it. Ohshardsandshells! A girl! He didn't know how to talk to them! Had never been able to mange talking with them without barely formed sentences. They just made him clam up and feel exceptionally shy.

Qizixth stared wide eyed between his bonded and the other blue. He scooted closer to his bonded, eyes flickering with yellow. Why was Az'rin so freaked out? What was it he should be scared of? M-Mine? Rinmine what i-is it?!

"H-H...H-ello..." Az'rin barely managed to get the word out. And then he and Qizixth both squeaked and squealed as the other blue came at them. Qizixth tried to hide while placing himself between Az'rin and Bolth at the same time. The result was his front half plastered against the ground and his hindquarters still standing. Az'rin himself had stumbled back and almost fallen on his trunk.

Staring up at his brother, it took Qizixth a full minute to comprehend Bolth wasn't going to attack him. Hesitantly he rose to his feet again and pressed firmly against Az'rin's legs. H-Hello, brother. Yes! Yes this is mine. He's very s-sweet. I-I am sorry, brother! I thought...you were going to attack us. He lowered his head a little shamefully at this admittance. That...that was very nice of yours! And...I have not tried curling up with Mine yet. Qizixth tilted his head a little and considered this. Maybe he should try it?

He waited for his heart to stop racing so fast before even attempting to have a conversation with...with...ohFaranth. Roommate. She is my roommate. Yes. Yes he could work with thinking of her as his 'roommate' and not 'a girl'. Maybe. "It's...a pleasure. To meet you. Both of you, I mean. Um...I-I'm Az'rin. A-A...And this is Qizixth." Az'rin gave C'rci a very shy smile, raising his head a little to look at her. She offered her hand and he very hesitantly (Faranth his hand was shaking!) reached out to shake her hand.

Only a very good sense of self control and the somber thought that she'd beat the crap out of anyone who laughed at her dragon kept her from doubling over in fits at the sight before her. Bolth in all his terrifying cuddliness had galloped over to them causing the other rider to squeak and squeal like a holder girl at the sight of a tunnelsnake while his dragon when front flat to the ground with his tail sticking up in the air. On the other hand she felt a good deal better about Bolth's sensitive more passive personality when placed next to his green blue sibling.

Bolth on the other hand was still happily prancing about the pair playfully and when he saw his brothers new position he too dropped into it mimicking Qizixth's position perfectly. Why are you apologizing Qizixth brother? Is this a new game? Attack? Is that the name of the game? Mine has games too. Mine is very nice, very brave. And Bolth crooned happily at this, his confidence in his choice of rider absolute.

Qizixth brother? And Bolth cocked his head up to eye Az'rin at this, his playful tone dropping to the more intellectual one of curiosity. Why is yours changing such an odd color?

Seeing the older boy drop his head C'rci frowned slightly unsure what she had done until her sharp eyes spotted the heavy blush across Az'rin's face. Was he shy? Scared of her? I mean she could understand his reaction to Bolth even if it was a little insulting. After all the blue was rather fearsome looking despite his gentle personality. Then the boy seemed to draw himself up somewhat and speak, slowly, but with less of a stutter this time.

"Hello Az'rin. It's good to meet both you and Qizixth. Neither Bolth nor I bite so you can stop your shaking. So long as you don't try to hurt us we'll be nothing, but friendly towards you two. Left side is all yours. It's been sweeped and dusted so it's ready for you to unpack." C'rci replied, blunt and too the point as she gripped his hand in a firm shake her hazel gold eyes catching his as she offered him a welcoming grin.

"Also if Qizixth wants to spread out a little more he can. I can't keep Bolth out of my bed so until he's too big to fit under the covers yours is welcome to take his pick of either wallow. I'm gonna warn you he's very friendly and very curious so if you don't want him getting into something then for now put it up on a shelf out of his reach." She warned turnign to chirp and click in wher speech to her hatchingling smiling when Bolth chirped back complete amused at his riders odd assortment of noises.

They seem very nice Mine. Can we keep them?
The blue asked cocking his head to look pleadingly up at his rider who simply chuckled.

They're not flits Bolth we can't 'keep' them, but yes they're going to stay.
She replied bending to caress her dragons head as he trotted back to her rubbing against her side happily.

Oh shards he was embarrassed by this! And was fairly sure that the red emblazoned on his cheeks was permanent. Or at least for now it was. But what was he supposed to have thought when a hatchling came barreling towards them?! Az'rin knew, really he did, that Bolth wasn't going to hurt them. It had just been a reflex reaction on his part. And Qizixth's too.

The larger blue hatchling was confused when his brother blue mimicked him. Oh no. Were they supposed to play? Wrestle? Isn't that what this meant?! Not that he really knew. He was only frantically sifting through things in his rider's mind. I-I am not sure. It just...felt like the right thing to do? G-Game?! I..I don't want to get attacked! Images of their green sibling roaring and looking so scary flashed through the blue's mind and he shared this with Bolth. No attack! That is what sister was about to do! It was so scary.

Not feeling quite so in danger of being mauled, Qizixth stood and shook himself out a little. His wings flared slightly before settling against his back and he looked around, only to look up at his when Bolth asked a funny question. Qizixth crooned softly and bumped against his bonded's side before responding. He's...he was startled. But now... The blue worked through the feeling, trying to find a name for it. Embarrassed? That is what he keeps thinking.

As if having to face a female wasn't intimidating enough, the feeling of his lifemate searching through his mind for things was still very new to the chunky boy. He shifted his weight, unsettled but working to calm down. And C'rci was...nice. Yes, she was nice. Friendly. Maybe he could get used to being around girls. Or at least being around his new roommate.

Az'rin smiled, still quite shy though. "I...forgive my r-reaction." He said quietly, a surprisingly firm hand shake given in return. "I was not...well, I've not...um, talked with many girls." The last was said almost in a whisper as yes, his cheeks were in crimson levels. This was so awkwardly embarrassing! Faranth help him, he hoped he wouldn't be like this all the time. "O-Oh! That was kind of you." He looked around the weyr for the first time and noticed that yes, it was swept and one side was clearly occupied.

He blinked and looked back at C'rci, then at Bolth, and finally at the bed in question. A rather nice smile spread along Az'rin's face as he looked back at his roommate. "Really? I-I sure hope Qizixth doesn't try that. With our luck, s-something would scare us...and we'd both fall out of bed." Finally, the chunky boy raised his head and really looked at C'rci, still smiling. "He'll probably stay near me, but t-thank you!"

Qizixth leaned heavily against his bonded's leg and regarded his brother. Then looked up at His. Are you alright, Rinmine? Can I explore our home with Bolth? The green-blue hatchling looked at his brother. Have you looked around the weyr yet? He paused. And...there isn't any food, is there? It was asked shyly and almost embarrassingly. But Qizixth loved food. Oh yes he did. Just didn't love everyone knowing how much he did.

Scary indeed. Bolth heartily agreed tilting his little head to look at his brother. Had his really stood up to his angry green sister? Then no wonder she was so disapproving of his choice! At finding the source of his siblings anger over his rider Bolth all, but grinned and hummed happily. Well that only served to him to show that he'd picked his well. Now he would simply have to see if he could talk Firinth around and then maybe he could ease his sisters dislike. After all there was no reason for conflict.

I'm not going to attack you Qizixth brother. Bolth assured his brother cheerfully and from where he sat next to his in front of the other pair he reached out to gently nudge his blue green sibling playfully.

Embarrassed? I wonder what embarrassed is? Well whatever it is it seems to make yours look very pretty. See! Mine is even being friendly with yours. She thinks he's funny. Bolth crooned nudging his riders leg as she reached down to instinctively scratch and itch he had on his head nob. It was so hard to tell what itch was hers and what was his. What hunger was hers and what was. . .then Bolth's stomach rumbled. Nope, that one was definitely Bolth.

C'rci was still somewhat confused by how shy the boy was, coming from a more rough and tumble craft where she'd been simply treated as one of the guys. "It's fine. Doesn't cause any harm so don't worry about it." She assured him with a slightly gentler grin before it shifted to a worried frown at hearing Bolth's stomach rumble.

"Yes well so long as you two don't try to climb in with me and Bolth afterwards too often I think we'll be fine. My bed can barely fit one dragonet as it is." She replied with an amused chuckle. "I'd better take him down to the kitchens and get some meat cut up for him. Would you like to come as well? I'll help you unpack once we get back if you like to save you time." She offered as Bolth trotted forward towards the door, but stopped just an arms length from his rider not wishing to go much farther and stared at her pleadingly his eyes whirling red with hunger as he creeled piteously.

Mine? Mine? It hurts!
The blue replied no longer distracted from his hunger pains and instead was left to shift on his feet awkwardly before his rider moved to follow.

Coming Bolth. C'rci responded her eyes distant now, her attention clearly having shifted completely to her dragon's needs.
