Asi was sitting at a small watering hole, one that not many other lions went around. It was good hunting grounds, though. Or so it was rumored, Asi never actually tried hunting on them. Though he supposed he could, since he had gotten a little better after Ari showed him how.

Chocolate orbs peered down to the water, his reflection peering up at him. His tail flicked a little, letting thoughts slowly drift by.

Masuka still carried the leg off of the zebra with her, the flank untouched. Her appetite had not returned yet and she doubted it would for a few days. Her pelt shone brightly as she made her way towards the waterhole, the place where she could slake her thirst and rinse her paws of the dust and grime that covered them.

If any of those stranger lions were there, she could bribe them to leave her alone with the leg of zebra.

As she drew within distance of the waterhole, the white furred female picked up her pace until she was at a steady jog, the weight in her jaws counterbalancing each step she took. Withut yet noticing Asi, she crept down to the water's edge, leaving the leg at the bank, hidden by grass.

After checking for crocodiles, she leant down to carefully lap up the water, her forepaws a little submerged.

Lethrossen
Asi's ears flicked a bit on catching the sound of another approaching. He gave a soft groan, feeling that he barely ever was alone these days. But as the lion didn't notice him, and when he saw who the lion was, he figured it wasn't so bad.

"Wha' Masuka, yew no goin' ta say 'ello?" His head tilted a little, a small grin flicking over his features.

Baneful
As Masuka heard the familiar voice of Asi, she stopped drinking and looked up, rather stunned that she had missed him.

"Oh! Asi, sorry about that, I must have been too concerned about the crocs in the waterhole to notice you there, really sorry." she gave him an apologetic grin.

She remembered the zebra leg and went to fetch it from the grass before heading over to Asi with it clenched in her jaws. She stopped a little way away from him and sat, putting it on the ground. "Want this by any chance? I was going to leave it but then figured some other lion might enjoy it more than those filthy things. I can't eat it, I'm stuffed."

Lethrossen
He blinked, eyeing the leg of Zebra. That might taste good, his stomach even chipped in with a pitiful growl of hunger. He glanced back up to her. "Yaeh, alrigh' " He murmered, starting to eat right away. After a bit he brough his head back up, watching her. " 'ow are yew?" he questioned.

Baneful

Masuka raised her shoulders in a sort of shrug.

"Me? I'm okay, getting by. The hunting is pretty good at the moment, so my only problem is the boredom. I mean, what do you do once your belly is full and your fur is clean?"

She tilted her own head a little as her chilled blue gaze returned to Asi from her thoughts.

"You doing okay I take it?" she said with a smile "Saw you a few days ago, sorry I couldn't stop to chat, my stomach dictated my movements that day."

Lethrossen
Taking a few more bites, the leg almost finished, he was getting full. So he moved back from it a little, to foccus on conversation. He listened to her talk of being bored, something he knew only too well. And when she got to the part about seeing him a few days he made a rather entertaining face, like he would die if he thought too much of that other day. "Oh bloo'an ashes." He muttered, fur bristling a bit. "Tha' was terrible.." He muttered, he was just lucky Ishara left him alone finally. The funny thing was, it was after seeing Masuka. Which, he was too stupid to get why Ishara might think Masuka was a threat.

Masuka grinned a little wider as Asi showed his exasperation. "I saw that female again, is she stalking you or something?" she asked with a chuckle.

Her tail flicked contentedly at her feet as she added.

"You seem to have a rather unwanted fan following these days."

The thought amused her greatly, it seemed that some lions just didn't have a clue what others wanted to be left alone and those that did not.

Lethrossen
Asi rolled his eyes a bit. "No, she do no be followin' me 'round." He muttered. "Jus' onnee saw 'er at the water 'ole.. so.." He shrugged lightly.

"It was a lil' funny, though. Cause I thin' she do be insultin Amari, which wasn't funny in itself.. bu' I do think tha' Amari was jealous." He raised both brows at his own statement, and chuckled a little. "I tried ter get 'er ta find some interest in him bu' she would no 'ave it."

He huffed a little, tail curling around him. "Yew meet annee one interestin, eh?" He questioned, smirking a bit.

Baneful

"Sounds interesting" she chuckled "Playing matchmaker for Amari. I bet he appreciated it more than the one being matchmade."

"Me? Met anyone interesting? Nope, I actually haven't come across any other lions since I saw you guys that day. I picked up a scent or two on my way, but nothing strong enough to lead me to anyone. Guess I must drive other lions off, not sure why."

Masuka really was unaware of her snappy sarcasm and rudeness that showed up when she spoke to those she didn't trust, and as such wasn't sure why most lions didn't take an instant warming to her.

"Or maybe I just spend too long hunting these days."

Lethrossen
He shrugged lightly "Amari do like ta flirt with annee thin' thas female and alive." He smirked a bit. "I do know 'e 'as a doll face of 'is own, bu' I thought 'e'd wanna flirt annee ways." He listened a bit and looked slightly confused.

"Why would yew drive others off?" He raised a brow, obviously Masuka had become a-okay in his nonexistant book.

"Eh well at least yew do no spend no time at 'unting, hmm?" He grinned a bit. "The las' time I 'unted wassa couple a' weeks ago, Ari.." He hesitated. Saying he got a lesson sounded like he was so dumb, he hated that. "Gave me a few pointers." He finished.

Baneful

Masuka gave a conspirational nod "I wouldn't really be surprised if he wanted to flirt like mad with anyone who would have him, he comes across as that kind of lion. harmless in intent but flirtatious."

Her attention heightened however when Asi spoke of his hunting "lesson" with Ari. "Really?" she asked, quite glad that he had gotten more of a grip on hunting. "Did you enjoy it?"

She always enjoyed hunting, it was one of her loves, something that both kept one fit and kept the belly full enough to hunt again. It was a gorious cycle and one re-enforced in her mind by her old pride.

Lethrossen
He shrugged lightly. "It was okay, I guess." He murmered. For one who had never put that much work into anything all his life.. well it was tiring. And he was very lazy. "It do make me feel accomplished." He offered, though quietly. It had been his first realy kill, a kill that was able to feed more than just himself. The only thing he'd ever killed before that was a mouse or two, sometimes a jack-rabbit.

"I also visited the jungle." He mentioned, just trying to keep conversation going.

Baneful
"It does give your confidence a boost doesn't it? Though most hunts you end up with nothing, the one where you finally get the prey is the most satisfiying thing." She chalked his not overly enthusiastic response up to the fact that he was a male and not generally expected to do all the hunting when he was older. She took pride in her skills at hunting, one of the few skills she actually had.

"The jungle?" she continued "I've been there a few times in the past, it's a bit sweaty and cramped to get anything done though. It took me a while to get out last time."

She didn't mention why she had been in the jungle though. The actual fact had been that she was trying to get back to her old pride and get revenge for the scar on her eye, but the jungle was too thick and she couldn't find her way back to the box that seemed to lead back home.

What she didn't realise was that the box she sought was simply a crate used to transport her from the chalk cliffs reservation to the current lands.

Lethrossen
He nodded slowly, guessing it was good for confidence. "I do 'appen ter like the water in the jungle." He commented, his main reason to visit there. "We wen' jus' before yew saw us at the waterin' 'ole tha' day." He nodded slowly, we meaning he and Ari.

"Tha' be when I bumped inter Amari." He muttered quietly, thinking of how odd that had been.

Baneful

"Water is good" she added, referring not to the muddy waterhole waters but to the river that had wound through her old home, clear as crystal. "Not that water though" she waved a paw vaguely at the waterhole's depths.

"The waterhole seems to be more of a meeting place than a nice spot." She smiled "Though knowing that there is other water to be gained if it dries up in the dry season is a comfort though."

Lethrossen
He nodded slowly. "Always water in a jungle." He nodded, not knowing what else to converse about so he slowly eased himself to his belly, glancing at the waterhole, then up toward the sky. "I do wish we knew a remedy for bein' bored." He huffed.

Baneful
"Yes" Masuka agreed very much. There just weren't enough lions around after the plague for anything majorly interesting to get underway. From what Masuka had heard, the Pridelands were not as well guarded as they used to be and she didn't doubt the same remained true elsewhere.

"That was the reason why I tried to make it to the other side of the jungle that time, I was so bored that I thought I might find my way back to my pride and get some fighting done, a little revenge dished out and such."

She shook her head "But it seems I'm stuck here. I should take up a hobby or something to keep me sane. Collect rocks or something."

Lethrossen
Fighting. Asi gave a small shudder, thinking it might be a little suicidal, one lion against a pride? He didn't comment though. "Collectin' rocks?" He snorted, shaking his head softly. "Yeh, tha' soiunds like tons o' fun Masuka." He grinned.

Baneful
It was a crazy idea, but to Masuka, anything was better than wasting away her days in boredom. At Asi's dismissal of her suggestion, she feigned indignance and said. "Well what would you have me do for entertainment then? At least rocks are better than nothing."

Lethrossen
He snickered a little and shrugged. "Sleepin'." He murmered. He had other suggestions, but would rather not suggest them. Well, maybe one. "When yer lucky enough ter get a cloudy day it do be fun ter watch those.." He murmered quiestly, head tilting as he watched Masuka.

Baneful
"Cloud watching?" Masuka raised a brow, it had been very very long since she last had a chance to do that. Her father, her true father, Blanc had used to sit on the chalk with her and the two would watch the clouds go by. He used to joke with her that if she didn't look after her fur well she would turn into a messy cloud and float away.

His pelt had been as white as her own and she only now noticed his playful joke at her own and his expense.

"I haven't done that in a very long time. It's something I hadn't thought of though, excellent idea though."

She cast her blue gaze skywards, a mirror of the colour of the skies above her, seeking out any clouds she could possibly find.

Lethrossen
He glanced to her, listened, then watcher her slowly look up. He used to do it all the time. He used to sit in the tall grass, sometimes for the whole day, and watch clouds drift by. What else was there to do when you were alone, scared and hungry? Well, after you gave into the fact that you didn't know how to hunt at all.

Besides, the clouds always gaze Asi a sense of comfort, he wasn't sure why. Almsot like a friend, though no one would ever know that. He glanced to the sky too, taking a deep breath.

Baneful

Masuka finally spotted a cloud above her, it looked like nothing at first to her, until the wind shifted it into the shape of a tree. Or at least it would be a tree if you looked at it just /this/ way.

Then without warning it seemed to change to another shape, one with two arms and two legs standning upright. It looked sort of like...one of those things.

"That one cloud looks kind of strange, don't you think?" she asked Asi, wondering what he saw in the cloud. "I think it looks like one of the two-leggeds."

Lethrossen
He blinked, head tilting as he squinted at it. "Two-legs?" He questioned, never having seen them before. He shifted a bit, trying to imagine a cloud like the one Masuka pointed out walking around.
