The previous days had certainly been enjoyable ones with the companionship, though Kerke had been wondering silently to herself how long it would last. Zaria had mentioned that she was in a pride, wouldn’t she eventually need to return. He was not sure how much she liked this pride, this place where she was seemingly seen as less than lions due to her species, but surely there was something keeping her there, otherwise would she not simply have left for something better? Perhaps though she had not found anything better, that this was the best place she could find.

The though though was certainly not a pleasant one, and as much as Kerke wanted to he just could not seem to shake it from his mind. The male cheetah stood slowly, trotting back to where he had left the female. “Zaria, are you awake?”

Kerke smiled and sat before hew. “It was certainly nothing, no need to thank me further.” The meal had been quite a filling one, and Kerke was glad that he had not messed up the previous hunt further. It was not uncommon for him to go without a meal, but with another mouth around to feed he felt more dutiful to make sure he did catch something.

His previous thoughts came back to him as he sat there, and with a c**k of his head he decided to put forward the question he had been wondering. “Zaira, when are you returning to your pride?” It was not as though he wished to be rid of her, he was simply curious. The time pent with her had been nice, but he couldn’t help but wondering when it would end.

Kerke slowly shook his head. “No, it is as good as any reason to stay somewhere, and family even more so, even if they have all grown up.” Kerke fell silent for a moment. “Maybe you can find somewhere better. There surely must be such a place somewhere, though I have no idea where.” Another short silence followed and a small smile spread across Kerke’s maw.”You are more than welcome to stay with me for a time until such a place can be found. I can not guarantee safety though, only company and meals when I can catch them. However should you decide that you would rather return to the safety of the pride I shall understand and won’t move to stop you.”

The smile on Kerke’s maw widened. “Great! Well then we should look in to a better place to sleep than here,I am sure we can find something acceptable around here, though we might have to move a bit. Also make sure the area has a good food supply, thoughIi suppose having to go a bit further for a meal won’t be too bad. We could even find other cheetahs perhaps, someone may know of some place that can be safe for us.” Kerke got a bit lost in though, rattling off each one as it popped in to his mind. Finally he looked back as Zaria. “Well we can go out looking for this place when ever you are up for it. It might take a bit, but maybe we will come across some friendly faces on the way.”

Kerke pondered this for a moment before setting forth his own ideas. “Well perhaps there is a group of cheetahs out there somewhere, but maybe we simply have not heard of them before. They could be a secluded bunch, hidden off somewhere where none can find them.” The thought expanded in his head, seeming like such a fanciful idea though at the moment. Perhaps though it was true, or could be one day if not. Kerke rather liked the idea anyhow. Even if such a place did not currently exist, it was a nice thought if nothing else. “Anyways. I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to the idea of getting a bit more company in the way of fellow cheetahs. Might be nice to have others around.”
